Morning Folks, By now you know that I am back in Kalifornia and started up some posts. I will let you know about my experiences in the old Hungarrian sect in Manhattan in NYC soon (also taken some photos). I have alot of backlog to take care of.
For those who have read my preious posts on a wildfires that have affected the Bay Area (Kalifornia) skys, I have taken a photo last early Thursday morning. This is about a half an hour after sunrise. The morning had a very intense orange tinge to it.
Other wise getting ready for autumn now and prepping up a newsletter for a local historic house museum. There will be an art and wine festival this weekend which I will be attending.
Trying to do my best today, The last couple of days were wearing heavily on me. Definately need some vacation time. Still working on my photo projects.
California wise, since the state has received little rainfall this past winter. the countryside has been dry. Just South of San Jose, a wildfire has been burning at the Henery Coe State park, Burning over 10,000 acres of wildands, brush and woodlands. Most of the smoke is blown out to the Pacific. However the air quailty is poor as I write., I'll be posting a couple pictures soon.
Back from the weekend. Hope your day is ging well. Getting ready for work so I'll proably be posting later in the day.
Spent some time in Monterey Bay on Sunday. Just too many people about and a lack of parking space. Did enjoyed walking about town and did some ouring in the Old Monterey area. Even stopped by the Aquarium to see the great white shark in the otter bay exhibit.
Getting ready to work now Anita. One of the things need to check into is sending postcards your way soon. I need to check on postal rates. Been working on the photos of the huszar group which I will be creating a album soon too.
Yup, Back again.... Once I got up this morning, I had the chance to see the remaining lunar eclpse in the area. Suppose to have a heat wave beginning today, so I will be seeking cooler places..... If by chance check over my other C2C groups for the latest issues at hand. May your day go well - Teresa
Hope your weekend went well. We are now at twenty-five members. Thank you for the posts. This will be a busy week since near month's at at my workplace.
The love bird photo I posted is Mango, an adoptee I had for about two years. I was able to get him from a rescue group. He previous owner neglected him and shies away from hand contact , however he lets get close to him to feed him treats.
I will be posting a photo now and then of my travels.
I made a soup over the weekend from one of the Hungarian cookbooks. It is called cold green bean soup or known as Zoldbab Leves. It is simple to make under an hour and then it has to be chilled. Goes well with pumpernickel bread.
I am also learning the Hungarian alphabet at this time and will be looking for language book on learning the language.
Good morning to all and welcome most of all to our new members. Membership jumped from 2 to 19 over the last several hours.
All I can say is WOW!. Please read ech others profile you find we have many experiences and skills to offer.
Thank you Anita foe sending out more invitations.
I will be posting some recipes soon. I have saved a couple of Hungarian cookbooks from earlier times and checking some recycle book stores in my area for more books on our culture.
Anita, I do community radio in my area, the station is not hooked up to the internet. However you can visit www.kkup.com and see what the station is all about. My name is in there. I do Native American music and Big Band.

Szia Olga! Yep.. cause it's a surprise! I saw Teresa's group 2 days ago but she had problems managing it because of some glitches and emailed her. I am glad I did! Have fun!

What do you do for living? What is your radio program about? Sounds cool.
Sziasztok! Uborka főzelék??! I never heard about it. What is this? Send me the recipe pls...I am curious..
By the way..Anita, thanks for the invite. I am surprised that you didn't talk about this wonderful group.
Teresa, congratulations, it is a great idea. I don't know we why didn't try to create a hungarian group before..maybe..I didn't think that someone will join..what a strange thing that I am co-host in a russian group and we hadn't a hungarian one.
This evening I'll be tying my hand at Tejfles uborka fözelék (Cucumbers with Sour Cream).... It's been a while since I made them ... I'll be taking more time to relearn and might start with a simple dish.
