Advice Needed for Healing Service July 06, 2004 7:48 AM

What title would best describe someone who works with energy, but also does consulting in personal growth, motivation, awareness, and related areas, based on wholistic living concepts? Because of restrictive laws regulating which words an alternative practitioner can use, there are some words I may not be able to use, like, counselor. Specific words are reserved only for medical doctors. Some states restrict words like advise and suggest. I've asked others for ideas on this dilema also. Even before I knew of such laws, I was concerned about calling myself counselor, that it would imply I'm a psychologist, though "consultant" is allowed. I'm just an intuitive who helps others, not an expert, authority, the wisest or the best, but I have a calling, and have helped many. This gift I take very seriously. My life isn't perfect, I don't pretend to have all the answers, but I do have a place in this world as a healer. All I am is a humble student of life, who cares deeply about others. What I do I know as inner work. Before I set my service up, I should have some description of who I am and what I do, right? Sincerely, Ariel  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

Hi-- Coaching is a word people are using that might work. Since people ask me for help with writing at times, I call myself a writing coach as well as an energy work practitioner. Deborah  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

THank you! I've thought of coach too. When the right words show themselves to me, there'll be no doubt. Oh I LOVE doing energy work, it comes so natural to me, and I can do it without actually touching someone. In these times it seems more people are uncomfortable being touched. I've done energy transfer online too, receiving it as well as sending. It still amazes me! We can be touched in so many ways. Music is a wonderful form of healing. I want to do more of this, having had success in this. If I could I'd get more training in all the skills i have, so I can be a better healer. For some who aren't comfortable with the idea of energy transfer, I can still help them, because energy comes in so many forms. Words can be great energy givers, natural sounds, music, and so much more. Despite restrictive laws and society's misgivings about healing, I can still do my work. THis makes me happy to know I can fulfill my life's calling and passion of reaching out to others. Thank you for your help. Sincerely, Ariel  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

Naming Our Spiritual Healing Gifts July 08, 2004 7:18 AM

Dear Ariel L. Your question really sets my mind a-flying. How to call our work has been an evolutionary experience for me and so many others on this path. Of course, you'll find The Exact Name for your work in the right moment, in that wee small silent space in the depths of your soul and that will be that - until it changes in a week, month or a year, or two. But until that moment arrives, here are some suggestions: Holistic Arts Practitioner, Energy Medicine, Holistic Energy Channel, Spiritual Healer, Spiritual Communicator, Wellness Practitioner, Healing Wisdom, Sound Healer, Karma Healer, Energy Balancer, Psychic Counselor/Consultant, Intuitive Healer, Intuitive Therapist, Psycho-Spiritual Counselor, Intuitive Medicine, Rainbow Energy Dancer, and the list goes on... Good Luck & Many Blessings, Ron L.  [ send green star]

Ron, WOW those are GREAT! Thank you! Yes you are right about how we find the answers and how they change and evolve. I've been using "intuitive healer" for awhile and "natural healer," though it seems however I describe myself it may never be all inclusive. Thank you again for your suggestions! Sincerely, Ariel  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

Guide July 09, 2004 9:35 AM

I am a Reiki master, teacher. however, I am only a master if a student is teaching me. I am not a practitioner. But, sometimes I am a guide for the lost and wondering. Love and Light.  [ send green star]  [ accepted]
