Heh heh, I was thinking the same thing.  I joined a couple of weeks ago hoping to see some activity here.  Let's start some topics, what do you want to talk about?  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

I really believe in the power of spirtuality and holistic healing of the mind, body, and soul.  I've been to a massage therapist several times due to tension in my neck and boy did it feel great!  They played very relaxing music, lit a candle, it really is something I wish I could do more often.  Now the girl who was my massage therapist went into practice for herself and decided to go to people's houses...I don't want to hear my phone ring, doorbell, nothing when enjoying "my" time so didn't have her come to my house.

Now to find another one who is not afraid to push on my muscles (deep tissue) and I'll be making a good effort to go more regularly.

There...I think I've blabbed enough.

Hey Heather,

I work at a chiropractors office and also have my own mobile practice.  I always tell my client to unplug the phone, if you get lots of visitors, just leave a note on the door "quiet, therapy session in progress".  It really can be a real treat to be in the comfort of your own home and recieve your massage.  Just think, right after you can slip right into the tub for an epsom salk bath, or bed, instead of having to get in your car and drive home!

I know when I work in peoples homes, I bring a boom box, to play music, I light insence, and have a source of dim light.  There are ways to set the mood to relax.  You can do it later at night, when no spa would be open, after your kids go to sleep!

Hope you will consider trying this option, especially if you have found a therapist you like!!

Just a curiosity question.... April 13, 2006 8:01 AM

would you have to charge more for a home visit (gas and such) as opposed to coming to an office?

God bless, J

You would most likely pay around the same fee, but it would all go to the therapist.  When we work for and office, we are paying rent, or a percentage to them and often don't get paid very much.  This way, the whole thing goes to your therapist.
