Nice to meet you Pamela
I dunno. I'm still here, but it seems everyone else is on summer vacation
Thank you Bettyjo I will try to work on that.
I just wanted to let everyone know we sold our house last month and have moved into our new house! We are living with my husbands parents till their house is finished. We are also selling christmas trees so this is a very busy time for us. I have not had much time to get online lately. I miss being here and talking with you all. I hope your holidays are beautiful and happy.
Love Mels

Guia,
How's the new bed doing now that you've had some time in it?
Good luck Mels, its exciting when you have someone interested. I finally closed two properties last week. WHEW..they were problems so I was relieved when they were done. (see if you lived near me I would have your place sold already
) ![]()
Hope everyone is having a good start to the official summer. I did not really have a chance to celebrate Litha...which I really hate but I was working long hours and was so tired, but this weekend I did get a chance to work on my garden and spend some time outdoors.
This is the picture

That's me yesterday...

Taking care of my "Goddess" me!
Guia,
Just a tip. Mattresses take a minimum of 10 days to get adjusted to and often 3 months to find your comfortable sleep position. Sounds like a long time I know but in the scheme of things (think 10 year life expectancy on a mattress-lifetime guarantees are really not apt and only cover the basics of mattress construction). The only reason I know this is because when I was an interior designer I stocked houses with Kingsdown mattresses so I went to their "Sleep School" to become a certified sleep expert. I wouldn't say I was an expert but I did retain a lot of useful information and my clients rarely complained about the bed I put them in. I love mine..but my husband hates it. (I had it before we met). I keep telling him only 4 more years left and we will get a new one..LOL Hope the mattress works well for you though!!
Merry meet, everyone! It's been a a long time since I was able to post (problems with old computer), so I'm looking at all the groups and trying to catch up with everything.
I was at my in-laws for memorial day, and we went to church with them (something we sometimes do, as we are a mixed religion household). Well, everyone went up for communion, except myself and the kids, and the pastor made a loud comment about getting the kids instructed. I was peeved, but didn't want to make a scene. It irks me, because so many young kids are marched up and instructed in the confirmation process, at an age where they are not really going to question it. If my kids decide to walk a christian path, let them step forward of their own accord.
It just seems they get bagged and tagged at a young age, and all that does is make them feel guilty as they question things down the road. As for me, I'm going to let them make up their own mind.
Blessed Be, Tina
Sounds like you've been busy Mel. Any nibblers on your place yet? I just got a townhome I had listed under contract today..keeping fingers and toes crossed it goes through without a hitch.
Okay everyone.
An article came up on pagan ethics and etiquette and so I posted it to a new thread Wiccan/Pagan Ethics....But before I posted it I took some old posts from an OOOLLDDD Wiccan Ethics thread and posted in there as well. It's a topic that needs to be refreshed often so please check it out and enjoy!!

Merry Meet,
Just wanted to pop in for a few minutes.
Things here have been crazy. My business has picked up considerably. On top of that, my brother-in-law is going through a tough divorce as well, so he has moved in with us temporarily. With him, part time, is my adorable little 2 year old nephew so my house needless to say is very chaotic. Feels like I have THREE sons, two of which are rather large...LOL
I want a child of my own, but am getting a slight taste of what it will be like to be a career mom and whew is that going to be a challenge. I would love to be a stay at home mom, but I love my career as well. That's a tough one. Fortunately, I will be able to work from my home atleast 80% of the time so that will be a help. But alas, I have another year or so before I have to worry about it.
Hope all are doing well with the various weather. We have been really cold but no accumulation of snow or anything. We haven't had any problems other then some wind damage from last weekend. Had to have some shingles replaced and got the bad news that we will have to get our roof replaced this year. BUMMER!!! We also, have to replace part of our fence, fix our gate around the pool and get a new pool cover as the wind completely shredded those. If its not one thing its another right?? But I didn't intentionally come here to complain so please forgive me. Life is actually good. We are all healthy and safe, so I'm counting my blessings.
I just wanted to touch base. I've had so little time that Care2 is just not a priority right now as much as I hate it...but I send all of you much love and many blessings. I'm looking forward to gardening and getting back into nature and studies if I can find the time. Spring is around the corner, the flowers will bloom, and things always look brighter in the spring. ![]()

The wedding is over, it was wonderful. I'll be getting back to work tommorrow and having to catch up but I will be back to the group soon. I'm just stopping in. One of my friends has already sent me some pics from the big day. I've started an album that I will be adding more pics to it as I get them. Enjoy! ![]()

That's so wonderful to hear Krista. I was raised to discover on my own what beliefs I hold, and had visited various homes of prayer, never quite fitting in, or agreeing with what was preached, and had been let down numerous times.
When I was introduced to another wicca group on here, I decided to to start researching it to find out what I was getting myself into. The more I read, the more I fealt like I had already grown up with the pagan beliefs/faith..My own mother had been doing certain comparable practices over the years, that I never really questioned, but was merely intrigued..Now it is all coming together like pieces of a puzzle..I have a lot of scottish and Irish ancestry in my genes. Wonder how many of them were pagans..
It's nice to hear (read) from someone that there aren't any specific rules that I have to abide by regarding my own practices/studies, other than the Rule of Three and Wiccan Rede...I finally have the freedom to follow my heart, and live for the good of all beings, energies, forces, and elements...I know the freedom was there all along..I had merely been misguided.
Blessed Be
Celeste,
Do not quote me on this but I THINK it depends on what group or organization you speak to or join. Many covens etc do require lengths of time to study etc before you can move up levels, however there are many wiccans, pagans etc who are self professed and self taught due to personal preference or where they live. So if you want to achieve a certain dedication or place within a heirarchy/organization etc, yes you may have to participate in a set course. If you want to practise wicca and be of that faith, you DONT have to do it a certain way. Faith is in the heart and soul. Whatever way feels right for you is your belief. No one can or atleast no one SHOULD dictate when, how and why you worship.
Hope that helps. Go with whats in your heart that you should do. That's what will be right.
I'm new at this too! I plan on learning as much as possible. I was reading that traditionally, Neo Pagans are to study wicca for a year and a day before pledging to the wiccan faith. Is this still the rule? I can see that there is plenty to learn. I'm willing to follow the proper passageway to the magick rite.
So mote it be!

Sunny, that honey mead sounds divine. I'm a little calmer right now...ran into a bunch of problems but I think they are smoothing out!!
Colcannon has to do with the Lughnasa celebration....I think its an area.....not sure..but the pie is a blueberry pie...atleast the one I made and IT WAS GOOD. Look under the Lughnasa/Mabon thread...I posted recipes in there somewhere!!! And I used those recipes for the cabbage/potato stew (I threw some bratwurst in with it
) and the blueberry pie.
sounds so good I think I'll make it again soon.
Sometimes you just have to let things proceed their course, and relax. Wish you were closer to here, there's a bottle of honey mead here w. your name on it!
A glass of mead under the moonlight, next to my favorite water-hole up in Yosemite; life doesn't get much better!
On a side-note, there are 30,000 new posts, since early summer. (You all have been busy, haven't you?!!!)
I read one in this thread regarding colcannon pie. Which thread is it listed under? Colcannon is an Irish trad. recipe centered around potatoes and cabbage, isn't it?
BB, Sunny
Hey Krista!! take a deep breath and a long sip!! it'll all be over before you know it and you can enjoy the honeymoon!! ![]()

Sagrada,
You are welcome to use any information posted here for your own reference. Any material I find out and about I try to include reference of where I got it, but it is always for the intent that someone here can take it and use it. Don't forget to check the archives, there's tons of info posted there too.
Hey Mel, it's good to see you are still enjoying them.
KRISTA: Is it ok if I copy and paste some of the information you have on here regarding colors and their correspondence and print it out to have it for reference in my book?
WELCOME DIANA!!!
Segrade- The kids are great! Annoying and frustrating when they refuse to listen and run away from me since I can't chase them anymore. Tempers I didn't realize two year old girls were so mean and boys are better but mine whines more. I am glad you are doing better!
Welcome to the group Diane!
Things are good. I have a new place to live now, have returned to work and I feel a lot more peaceful and centered. (that is, besides my spiritual problems)
I'm just wondering why it's 78 degrees in August..........???
Just want to say hi to everyone.
Hope everyone had a great spring and is enjoying their summer!!
Love and ligh ----- Sagrada.
Hey Reyn!!
I'm going to try and swing by a blueberry farm tommorrow (its only about 6 miles from my house) and get a basket of blueberry's to make a colcannon pie and some lugh stew. (all the recipes are in the thread I just posted up). If I can get stephen to quit working on the barn, we may light our tiki torches tommorrow night (to dry for a bonfire) and eat dinner after dark out by the pool...little private celebration. How about everyone else?
Okay, I have tons and tons of information to post but I have been a little busy lately. Will be posting very very soon. I just keep collecting information and no time to post. I'm also working on something right now that if it works out I will be sharing with everyone. So bear with me and please do not hesitate to post new topics etc. There's a lot going on in the pagan community right now. Please share!!!
Krista
Hi everyone, just popped in to check up on everything!! Very quiet around. WE are moved in to our place, but haven't even started unpacking. Another week of living out of boxes...
I took all my vacation time helping everyone else move that now I don't have any time left to settle in before going back to work. On the upside we did get a lot painted. Not even close to the same house. Its amazing what color will do. Went from a drab boring white walled country house to a fall oasis. Terra cotta, cactus green, toffee cream yellow, berry mocha walls with walnut trim and redoak floors, REALLY livened up the house and made it warm and cozy. I should have done before and after pics. When we get set up I'll try and post some pics. Hope everyone is doing well.
Love and light,
krista
Happy Father's Day to everyone who celebrates that!! I just wanted to give the group a quick run down: As of yesterday I am in the process of moving for the next week. I know ...a week you say.....but its complicated. (nothing in my life can be simple right?)
We moved my sister's house and Grandmother's house yesterday..from my home town up to the Mountains (about an hour away). Today we are moving my sisters, Dog Lots, dogs, cats, Horses, fencing.
Tommorrow we move my aunt into the townhome My grandmother just sold her so that she could move to the mountains with the rest of my family. (My sister has a one year old baby that my grandmother is nanny for and she could not let her first great grandbaby move without her..so within two days of us saying tracey was moving, my grandmother had bought a house two miles from her new one and sold her condo. WOW)
Monday and Tuesday is moving my parents out of my family home up to the farm they purchased in the mountains..and then its painting the family home and finally next saturday I get to move into it!!! See I told you it was complicated. So anyway, after yesterday I am completely sore and stiff...and I can imagine the rest of the week will only get worse. So I'll try to check the boards when I can but I may be AWOL this week. ![]()
Would like to open up the group to some serious discussion for a bit here!!!
I would really like some feedback and questions from group members on the content of the group. Does everyone like the information being posted? What would you like to see up here? Is there something specific we are missing etc?
We are growing very well, and I know I personally tend to post a variety of things, news articles relative and not relative, more kitchen witch type information, herbal/garden etc. I know there is a lot more out there though then just that but that tends to be what I read up on and study more closely. I will be happy to try and expand some of my information and would love other's to post as well on things they are interested in.
I will probably try to post some survey type questions to get some discussions going soon as some research I am currently working on is raising some interesting topics and would love to get everyone's feedback.
How does everyone feel about the group right now though? The information provided? etc?
Love and Light,
Krista
Sunny,
Truth be told, I toyed with the idea of changing the look, even went through all the themes, but didn't really find anything I felt would suit the whole group. There are a few that are nice, but I know other groups are using them (I'm sure there are many using this theme too, but I'm not a member so I don't know), and a few that were nice were so limiting...I felt they suited girls more then guys for instance and I don't want to exclude anyone from the group just because of how it looks. No one really stepped up to say they definately wanted a change and they would like "such and such theme" so I think we will just leave it alone. So no worries hon, its not broke, we won't fix it for it now ![]()
but I've always hated change of any sort, when I like something just as is. Sort of the "If it aint broke, don't fix it" type of thinking, and totally against the laws of nature. Everything changes, and must change. (Doesn't mean I have to like it, though!)
Since we live in a democracy, it would probably only be fair, to take a WOW members poll, and I leave it up to you, (Krista) as owner of this group, to decide how best to accomplish this.
BB, all,
Sunny
a new look would be kinda cool..flowers and butterflies and...wait, that might be too cheesy. Sorry. Ummm I haven't checked out the new backgrounds yet-does anyone have a fav?
White light? I don't know anything about it but I think its a good thing. Maybe she's haveing troubles of some sort and gonna finally be able to overcome them soon?
Good question Mels. I'm not sure but I would suggest looking up the symbolism of diamonds and the color white and see what jumps out at you!!
What does everyone think about updating the look of our group?? I love the pentagram background and colors but they have come up with new themes......anyone have any ideas/preferences??? Haven't decided to definately do it, just toying with the idea...spring is coming, might be time for a change. ![]()
Okay, I got this idea from one of my other groups that I co-host in and it has worked extremely well so I thought I would do it here. This thread is where everyone can just chat about anything or nothing at all....drop in and say hi, tell us your latest news, just WHATEVER your heart desires.
So have a blessed day and happy chatting!!!
Krista
