Forward Thinking

Ahh... countries that actively value and support learning and education. How enlightening!

And forward thinking. What better investment in time and resources?

Dagmar, your country is indeed lucky and obviously your leaders are thinking clearly.   Our children (and their education) are our investment in the future.  I am embarrassed to say that here in Ontario subsidized education lags behind and we don't seem to be thinking ahead for the next generation.   Thanks for the information.

education

yes, carmel , that is true ! and you will not find a better system and a better outcome than in Sweden and Finland --- exampel : 95 % of all people here in Sweden have a bacchaloreat ( exam end of 12th class high school ) !!!

so highest level in the world......

and i always laugh about the discussion in other countries as the leaders want to make people believe that this wouldn't work and that the economy would break down .... hehe .... they always forget that it is working in these countries for decades and still ( and also BECAUSE OF the fre education system) these are some of the most wealthy countries in the world...

but to add , this is not only best in because it is free, it is also best in the way they educate and support the people ...

Okay, Erica, a question please.   Is it true that Sweden has free education for schoolchildren and universities?   Here in Ontario, Canada, our public schools are free but universities cost a lot and many students have student loans to pay back.

Hei alle sammen!

I'm from the U.S., and that's where we're living now, but spent 2 lovely years with my husband (who is a native Norwegian) in Norway.  We came back to the States to finish our studies, but we plan on living and growing old in Norway once we're done.  Thank you Dagmar and Lady Athena for creating this group, and inviting me along!  I hope I can help where I may, having gone through moving to Norway once already.

Many blessings,

Kimberley Remen

Hi Dagmar & Lady Athena!

I was not invited; I found the group by chance and decided to crash in. So here I am, en invandrare till.

I moved to Sweden 4½ years ago. I live in Dalsland, in the countryside. I’ve been a city girl all my life, but I love this place, even if the %&*# deer eat up my garden… and I already got 4 ticks myself!  …But here is where my heart is!

I won’t log in often, because I’m studying, though I’ll get the posts through my mail…

But from June on, I’ll have more time…

Seeing forward to know you all better and share good time

My background is Norwegian but I'd love to learn more about all of Scandenavia.  I recognize welcome but don't know how to write it in Norwegian.
