I heard somewhere in Norway that it is a little known fact if your grandparents came over from Norway to the U.S.(possibly other countries) you can actually get a duel citizenship or something like that.  Is there any truth to that?
very interesting

... almost conclude that it makes a difference if a person has grandparent(s) from Norway - it could be worthwhile to put a question to the Immigration Authorities or to an Norwegian Embassy:

"Immigrant – person born abroad, permanently resident in Norway, both of whose parents were born abroad.

The Immigration Act - The provisions of the Immigration Act provide the framework for the entry of foreign nationals into the Kingdom of Norway and their presence in the realm. The Act was passed on 24 June 1988 and came into force on 1 January 1991, replacing the Aliens Act of 1956. The UDI's decisions on protection and work and residence permits are reached in accordance with the Immigration Act and the Immigrant Regulations.

Immigrant population
Comprises persons who have two parents who are foreign nationals and/or were themselves born abroad. More precisely: persons who have neither parents nor grandparents who were born in Norway. For adopted children, the adoptive parents, not the biological parents, are considered as the parents."

(I'll give the source, link, in the next post!)

in Norway is abbreviated UDI
- there's a lot of information on both on how to become a citizen in Norway by application (the usual case) or by notification (esp. available for people from the Nordic countries and some other categories with close ties to Norwegians)...
the above quote (former post of mine) was from:

Hope it clarifies somewhat! As Norway is in great need of workforce, with the country having a lot of vacant jobs, I guess they will be happy to help anyone looking for a job that he/she is suitable for...

If anybody think they can get a norwegian passport and keep the one from thier own country they have to think again, is no. Citizenship is maybe different. Quite a lot of countries do not have to have work permit in Norway, members of EFTA
