Hello everyone, I am new to this group, but I thought I would share my story with you. I work in a store, and we get store mail in big canvas bags. Last Sunday, a co-worker of mine noticed something odd sticking out of the bag--a mouse! It was friendly, and it crawled right up her arm. She didn't know what to do with it, so she put it out in back of the store in the grass by a tree. She ran into me shortly after (she knows I like critters of all sorts) and mentioned what she had discovered. I had someone open the back door for me, even though people said that the mouse would probably not still be there. To my shock, it was! I ran over and scooped him up. I kept him in a box until I had time to run him home on my break. Now he is safe and in a loving home with me. He wouldn't have lasted a day out there, for he is a domestic mouse, not to mention he is for the most part white(with brown spots). He would have stood out like a sore thumb, and been nabbed by a predator in no time. I am so happy I went out to check to see if he was still there, despite that people said it wouldn't be likely. I have no clue how he got in the mail bag, whether it was someone's pet that was brought to work and had escaped, or if someone was playing a horrible joke. But he's the cutest little guy, and I am so happy that he came into my life! He has an endless source of energy, and does everything super fast, even things like cleaning himself. So I decided that the name "Speedy" would fit him very well. Just thought I would share my little mouse story.
I just moved Speedy to a 20 gallon tank, and he just loves the extra space! He just tears around on his wheel for hours! Got him a little strawberry hut (which he uses as a step-stool to get to his waterbottle(the tank sides are a little high)Don't worry, he can reach it just fine!). I also just ordered more things to spoil him with. Here is some more pics of my little Speedy:
