Top Ten Ideas for Peace List and Peace Mediitation discussion.... November 12, 2007 8:44 AM

Greetings everyone,

About a day ago I posted my very first top ten list in the Shares. Please take a moment to read it and comment on it. And please pass the link to your friends who are here on Care2. The more people comment on it, especially comment in a meaningful manner, the more prominant my top ten list becomes and peace should always be displayed prominantly. The text of my share is included below:

----------------

While these are just ten ideas, they can, if implemented by a large number of people bring us peace and allow us to keep peace world-wide. No questions asked. In fact, I can just about bet that if we were to universally adopt these few things by the end of the year we would have peace by spring. They are powerful even alone, but together they give a clear map for peace on earth!

  1. Realizing we are all Human: It is time that we recognize that we are all interconnected because we are all human and that our separation is artificial and temporary; thus uniting us as one people.
 2. Live and Let Live: By living our own lives and letting others live theirs we take away the constant focus on forcing others to conform; thus creating freedom for us and them.
 3. Respecting our place on this world: By understanding that we are not the masters of the universe we will stop destroying our world; thus creating a better world for our children.
 4. Creating unifying systems: The current systems hone in on our differences and divide us and as such we need to create a "new world" with new systems that are specifically created to unify us and that we all can share on a global level.
  5. Making a commitment for peace: We must stop glorifying wars and funding weapons and instead must take an active stand for peace; because if we focus on, support, teach and live peace -- war will go away.
  6. Re-balance the Masculine and the Feminine: Yang cannot exist without yin and yin cannot exist without yang. Both must co-exist and be equal; as such the feminine must be valued once again.
 7. Defining Universal Morality: It is important to find what we agree on in regards to morality -- such as to live and let live, to not abuse children and animals and to live in peace.
 8. Keeping personal morality a personal choice: Matters such as what to eat, what to wear, what to believe in etc should be a personal choice that everyone has the right to choose without force; then we will have peace.
 9. "Fighting" our real enemies: It is imparative to stop fighting amongst ourselves, as such we should fight poverty, hate, ignorance, bad leadership, pollution and the like. This unites us and makes the world better for all.
10. Create peace within our own selves and families: By creating peace within first and handing it on to our families we can eradicate war and peace within a few years, even if nothing else is done.

Please remember to comment. Heck, feel free to start a discussion there too .

Great List! My Dream is this... November 12, 2007 10:06 AM

As I've just recently joined this group and have been pretty busy, I'm not sure where to post this idea.

Someone picked up on a major piece of it with the 11:11 meditation, this Sunday, where the instructions were for everyone to meditate at 11:11 am, their time.

Think of it:

At, say, 11 pm, every day (while many are watching the news), only one person in each timezone has committed to meditate/pray/hold intent/focus... on PEACE:

Feeling Peace & Absolute Love,
with Gratitude in his/her heart
for everyone and everything on the planet,
for one agreed-upon hour, each & every day.

Let's say that more than one person in each timesone commit to this.

It could be at noon, when all the "Western Elite" are at lunch... members of this class ~ and everyone else who's committed to doing so ~ focus on Peace, feeling Absolute Love and Gratitude.

What would happen to lunch-hour "traffic"?

What would happen at U.N. Peace Conferences?

What would happen in YOUR life?

I'd like to see a webpage created which is committed to this:

  • "Java Script" (or whatever is used these days), set up for people to sign-up, in their own time-zone.
  • a pic of the earth rotating, with lights (like the nightime-sky pics of the earth) with one bright dot for each person who is committed in that zone.
  • if you're not going to be in your own time-zone on a specific day, set your watch to go off at the same time as usual, AND ALSO do this meditation at the correct time for the timezone you are in, as well, if you can.
A place to post, each day, the miracles you have witnessed in your own life, or miracles you have seen in the news, far away...

It's a Global Peace Project. One where a CONSTANT STATE OF "PRAYER" FOR PEACE is rotating 'round the earth, each moment of every day ~ for as the Earth turns, this very prayer is picked up in the next timezone.

Who has the skills to create this webpage? I will be happy to discuss my ideas with you.

Ohh I really LIKE that idea!!! November 12, 2007 1:31 PM

Greetings everyone,

I really like that idea...would you like to run with it Claire? If you can come up with the text and full idea then I can toss it up here and on the EarthPeace MSN community website and give you and everyone else the links to spread out properly. I love the idea of specific people taking five minutes or so out of their day for a quick meditation like that . We could even set an AM and PM timeframe so that plenty of people could participate no matter what their work schedule!

Send me the full text to: hayasierra@peacemail.com

Glad you like the idea, Sylvia! November 12, 2007 1:51 PM

I've introduced this meditation on other threads, but today, MAGICALLY! Folks are responding from EVERYWHERE!

For this to work as I dream it:

A 5-Minute Starter is required...

Then, for a full hour, you LIVE IT ~ holding Love & Peace & Gratitude in mind for the full hour.

Then, next time-zone, others pick it up.

Like that idea?

I'll go see if I can dig up the "full description" as posted months ago on here, somewhere......

Here ya go... November 12, 2007 2:46 PM

This is what I posted on other groups, back in July. (I just now reactivated this post in the Reiki Group.):

EZ Daily Worldwide Meditation July 17, 2007 12:31 PM
Let’s keep Firing the Grid with Love & Light! Every Day!

From 11:11 AM – 12:12 PM ~YOUR TIME, EVERY DAY:
Be in a State of Absolute Love in Joy, Harmony & Beauty,
In Gratitude, transmuting in Partnership with your Divine Self toward Joyous Growth & Happy Learning
In your own experience in The Now.

The Numerology:
11:11= Transmutation in Partnership with the Divine Self, Accomplishment in Diligent Work

12:12= Joy, Harmony & Beauty in Partnership with the Divine Self in Joyous Responsive-Ability

For an hour, each day, do this, BE this. When you are “finished,” folks in the Time-Zone to your West, will pick it up.

Feel, Notice... the wave of this Loving Power rotating around the earth, all day & all night, everyday.

If you are traveling over the ocean, adjust your meditation time to do this for 11:11 AM-12:12 PM in the Time-Zone where you are at the moment.

Variations on The Theme:

  • Attempt to keep this up, ALL the time, when you can.
  • Watch Lunch-Hour traffic change. Notice random acts of kindness on the road.
  • Watch food being prepared & served in Love.
  • Watch your own & everyone's experience of Growth become Joyous.
  • Watch Happy Learning Experiences unfold before you, everywhere.
  • Watch the water change ~ around you & in your body!
  • Watch the world change, before your very eyes.

I started a sign-up page on the Reiki group which I co-host, and suggested people enter their commitment like this:

Claire Born 11:11 AM - 12:12 PM EST

I’ve let them know that the times may change, depending on what happens here. Ariel is interested in getting this going, as well. I suggest we coordinate with each other.

THANKS for picking up the ball and running with this, with me! Ariel is interested, too, and we've started exploring options. Let's do this together! I'm excited!

Meditation idea...11:11 ... November 12, 2007 9:20 PM

Greetings...

I knew the fire on the grid sounded familiar... I had heard of that and kind of wished whenever those things were going on that they would be more than just once every now kind of events.

For those who might not be able to do a whole hour's worth of meditation or who might not be able to do it at the specific times we might be able to have a second group take ten minutes or so worth of time during every day and focus on peace. Because there is plenty of times to choose, there should be people doing it after a while at all times of the day all over the world.

Please invite the Ariel over here...that would be really neat to make sure we can coordinate it all a bit better .

I'll take what you have written so far (with your permission of course) and let it have it's own page (or set of pages) at the MSN group: http://groups.msn.com/earthpeace/  -- I can use a nice website decor and even find some cool pictures for it. Of course it also will get a blurb here.

As for my own family -- while we may not be able to do 11:11 every day for an hour, we could do the ten minutes for peace as a family, in prayer and meditation.... I told wayne, one of my beloved's about it and he absolutely loves the idea of something like that .

Does anyone else here have any input on this idea/project?

What do you all think about the second group of people that do it ten minutes at a time?

I think the 2nd group is great ~ November 12, 2007 10:44 PM

I love all kinds of variations on this thing!

The hour thing ain't so hard, really. It's just a "state of mind" to be in... a meditation I call "Doing in Being" ~ You set up the "being mode" and then you do, while BEing in that space.
Love love love, while you wash the dishes. You know "Bless your heart" to the nasty driver who cuts in front of you, "I know you must be having a hard day." Like that.

I sent Ariel a link to this group... funny... I thought she was already on here!

Dearest Divine Soul Silvia! Your 'TOP TEN LIST' is really on the top. Keep it up. I am a peace loving man. For want of access and time to computer and net, I got withdrawn from many groups, but when you invited me to EarthPeace I spontaneously joined it. Peace is badly needed in the world. This can be achieved when there is internal peace within oneself. This is possible when we are in total harmony with Mother Earth and all living beings in it. The disharmony create violence of all sorts and peace eludes mankind. Thank you Silvia. Keep writing.  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

Meditation Idea.... Ahh, the way you describe it makes sence... November 13, 2007 10:06 AM

Greetings everyone,

Claire, the way you describe the "being" love, peace and unity makes a lot of sense. That is much easier than trying to hold serious meditation for a whole hour and I like it more because we are projecting ourselves out there in a loving and peaceful manner. It is the perfect start for self-growth for various people who cannot imagine trying to be all calm, peaceful and loving to everyone at all times. Heck, I have been trying to do this for years and I still at times get upset/angry/frustrated with people and sad about various things in my life and the world in general.

I figure the meditation/being time would also be a good time spending with one's family, in prayer with the Divine/God, helping actively making the world a better place, making a new friend, focusing on how you would like the world to be (perhaps even writing an essay or two about it), being creatively active by singing, drawing, creating, sending healing thoughts and love out to the world in general; writing a letter to a friend or a loved one, looking at pictures of nature online (or even better being outside in nature yourself), doing things for others or for your own wellbeing, making food with love to give to your family, imagining that no one has to go hungry as you eat food/fix food, pray for the end of hunger/poverty....

There are millions of things that can be done to be proactive and to be in a peaceful state of mind .

The second group to me was an idea that actually includes full meditation, prayer and visualization -- done every day -- either alone or with family members. For example, one of the things I was hoping for is that me and the two guys who make up my family have a prayer/meditation vigil every day or twice a day for ten minutes to focus on peace and how we want things to be in the world. By us taking even ten minutes a day out of our busy schedules to focus on peace, love and unity we can change a lot of things in the long term. And it has a great effect on us and our families for strenghtening our bonds with our loved ones and our relationship with the Divine/God/Great Spirit.

I like how this is shaping up .

In peace,

Silvia ---

Thank you for the compliment and welcome R.R. November 13, 2007 10:36 AM

Greetings everyone and R.R,

I wish to welcome you to the community and hope you find this a good place to share your thoughts and participate to make peace happen. We will in time have a number of small to medium to big actions that we all can do for peace -- much like the EZ Meditation suggested by Claire, the petitions I'm putting out and flying the World Unity Flag that I found and got permission to use. These actions -- that we do united as one people -- no matter if they are to make a commitment to live in peace, to focus on peace for ten minutes out of our day or to be active in a local group of EarthPeace (Once they become available) can really make a lasting impact. This is because by acting as "one humanity, united in peace and love" we really break a lot of the cycles of seperation and hate that have been festering and erupting all over the world for the last few thousand years. Even to do all the activities I and others will be suggesting will take no more then a few hours out of our busy weeks and lasting peace is worth a few hours a week; especially when some of the actions only take but a moment of time or a simple changing of ones frame of thinking while one lives.

Some examples:

The action of talking to someone about peace and this community takes but a few minutes, to send a link to this community to a few of your friends takes but a few seconds. But the reward can be endless especially if your friends participate as well and pass things on as well. Hence I try to invite at least 1-4 people a day to both this community and to my friends listing when I am online.

Or another example is to buy a world unity flag costs perhaps a few dollars in donation to the group who makes them, to fly it takes but a few minutes of set - up, but the result is a clear statement that everyone can see. To make one from scratch in your community may take a few hours between you and your friends, but again it makes a strong statement and bonds all of you together. Once I have some local groupings we will be doing both and expanding upon it.

To sign Marek's petition at http://www.peace365.org , my Embracing our global earth citizenship at: http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/embrace-your-global-earth-citizenship and the Commitment for peace at: http://thepetitionsite.com/1/earthpeace all take a total of three to five minutes of our time but the results can last a lifetime and beyond.

Some may read this (and other posts here) and wonder what good could it possibly do to do these little actions here and there, what could it do to focus on peace for five to ten minutes at a time, what difference can it make if we are feeling love, goodwill and peace towards all our fellow beings for even an hour a day.... but look at it this way. What we put out into the universe is what manifests in our lives. When we see the little results here and there we get motivated to do more... then we see bigger results... and it goes from there. It is the effect of action and change. In fact, I read somewhere that if we just started by getting two people to pledge and live and be peace today and they each got two, and then they got two and so forth... we would have worldwide and complete peace much sooner than any of us would realize even if all any of us ever did was speak to two other people!

So realize that it is in our reach. That there is no such thing as "impossible", that the world we envision and hope and dream for can be created -- by all of us. When I make a writing that explains how I feel leadership should be, or when I spend imaginary money on doing good rather than buying fighterjets I AM making a difference because I know one day that will be a reality just because I dreamed it and passed it onwards.

In Peace,

Silvia ---

I like the way it's shaping up, too, Sylvia:) November 14, 2007 9:29 PM

And I like the way the meditation dovetails with your Top Ten and vice versa !

Group two can easily segway into group one's activities, too. I like that.

Would you like to start a thread on this group for folks to "sign up" til we get it going on a webpage?

There's some signups already happening in a Reiki Group I cohost (I may have already told you). They're entering their commitment by typing into their post, like this:

EXTERNAL PEACE POSSIBLE AND FEASIBLE ONLY THROUGH INTERNAL PEACE November 16, 2007 5:42 AM

External peace is possible and feasible only through internal peace. Internal peace can be achieved only through daily prayers. Mahatma Gandhi could afford to miss his daily meals but not his daily prayers. He said the following about his daily prayer: "Prayer has saved my life. Without it, I should have been a lunatic long ago. I had my share of the bitterest public and private experiences. They threw me in temporary despair. If I was able to get rid of that despair, it was because of prayer. It has not been a part of my life as truth has been. It came out of sheer necessity, as I found myself in a plight where I could not possibly be happy without it. And as time went on, my faith in God increased, and more irresistible became the yearning for payer. Life seemed to be dull and vacant without it. I had attended the Christian service in South Africa, but it had failed to grip me. I could not join them in it. They supplicated God, I could not; I failed egregiously. I started with disbelief in God and prayer, and until at a late stage in life I did not feel anything like a void in life. But at that stage, I felt that as food is indispensable for the body, so was prayer indispensable for the soul. In fact food for the body is not so necessary as prayer for the soul. For starvation is often necessary to keep the body in health, but there is no such thing as prayer starvation. You cannot possibly have a surfeit of prayer. Three of the greatest teachers of the world -- Buddha, Jesus and Muhammad -- have left unimpeachable testimony that they found illumination through prayer and could not possibly live without it. Millions of Hindus, Mussalmans and Christians find their only solace in life in prayer. Either you call them liars or self-deluded people. I will say that this "lying" has a charm for me, a truth-seeker, if it is "lying" that has given me that mainstay or staff of life without which I could not live for a moment. In spite of despair staring me in the face on the political horizon, I have never lost my peace. In fact, I have found people who envy my peace. That peace comes from prayer. I am not a man of learning, but I humbly claim to be a man of prayer. I am indifferent as to the form. Everyone is a law unto himself in that respect. But there are some well marked roads, and it is safe to walk along the beaten tracks, trodden by the ancient teachers. I have given my personal testimony. Let everyone try and find that as a result of daily prayer he adds something new to his life." I learnt from the above and daily prayer has become part of my life, which provides me internal peace. Through internal peace I became fearless and more courageous. This was not so when daily prayer was not a part of my life.  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

Created some new topics for Meditation and Prayer.... November 16, 2007 10:50 AM

Greetings everyone,

Thank you for your input to this topic. I took some of what I thought would need new discussions and created new threads for them.

Claire and everyone participating in the EZ Meditation action I created one post that is a sign-up place for participating in the EZ Meditation. Then I created another post for ideas of what sorts of things people can focus on in regards to peace and love in that hour of meditating and being a vehicle of peace.

R. R. I agree a lot with your thoughts of the power of prayer and it's role in creating peace. That is why I created an extra discussion to discuss both power of prayer in the peace process and to share peace prayers that we find and create ourselves.

Hopefully, these new topics will be interesting for our community.

In Peace,

Hi Everyone!
I LOVE your top ten, Silvia! It absolutely resonates with me. And Claire, the meditation idea is fabulous!

I'm just wondering ....  Would there be more power in the meditations if we are meditating in "real" time? In other words, people on the East Coast meditate at 11 PM while people on the West Coast meditate at 8 PM.

I'm also wondering if more people would join if it was a 20 minute meditation -- or maybe if there were two choices of meditating times? Some people may not have a free hour -- or that particular hour free.

Whatever is decided should not change so that people can count on it. Looking forward to hearing how this develops!

Meditation notes... November 16, 2007 3:09 PM

Greetings,

Actually, while we just have a sign-up discussion so far for the hour-long meditation/focusing/being at peace -- there will be second group set up and coordinated soon that will take perhaps 10 minutes for meditation once or more times a day at a time that they choose.

I will be going to Hawaii tomorrow for a week of vacation so I have been zipping around the apartment packing today too . The second group sign up discussion can either be posted by Claire in my absence or will be posted by myself upon my return.

In Peace,

Silvia ---

PS: Please do not forget, if you like my top-ten list, please comment on my Share over here:
http://www.care2.com/c2c/share/detail/537530

The more comments, the better rating it will get -- including being on the front page if it gets enough comments and activity.

Re: [EarthPeace] My Top Ten List.... "My top ten ideas for peace and lasting impact" November 16, 2007 7:05 PM

Hi Silvia, Would you accept my top idea for peace and lasting impact?. Look in the Book of Revelation, chapter 10, verse 11 and compare with the project I am inviting you to participate accordingly ... What would you do if it was your personal project? Please do join our group and help to spread the good news or vice versa?! In Peace Marek  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

We used to have a world meditation for peace every day that began right before the Harmonic Convergence and it lasted for quite awhile, we did see great things mainfest beofre personally and in the world....anyone remember those days?

Thank you for the flag site. I have always hung eighter a global flag or an Earth flag and I really like these, can't wait to hear back from them and order them for family and friends. Spreading awareness for xmas instead of commericalism has always been one of the rules I live by. Well, not just for xmas but birthdays, fathers/mothers day...etc. It is a wonderful way to lovingly make people aware of something new they can do without lecturing them and I always put together inspirational DVDs and green products so they are hooked and excited to do more on their own. Plus I put these baskets together all year so I have to learn more all year long. In giving I give to myself as much to others...doesn't it always turn out that way? Smiles.

Peace In and Out,

Danielle

Am reactivating this wone for several reasons... :) January 25, 2008 9:13 PM

Greetings everyone,

I am reactivating this topic for a few reasons. For one, I wrote a longer version of the top ten ideas for peace. That one is an essay. I would like to post it here. Also, this is the main topic where we started discussing the meditation for Peace, as such I'd like to have it active so anyone can always participate and post developments on it.

As such, I will be adding a few posts to this today and tomorrow.

EZ Peace Meditation...Ideas January 25, 2008 9:24 PM

Greetings everyone,

I will post some of my Ideas here for the Peace Meditiation and I invite others to do so as well.  These should be our ideas of what cool things we can do for our EZ Meditation hour of Peace. Please share your ideas and what sorts of things you have done in the past....this may help out those who are not so sure about the project due to lack of inspiration.

I will get started:

*Pray to God/The Divine for a few minutes. Ask for Peace. Beg for Peace. Allow yourself to become an instrument for His or Her will in regards to bringing peace to our world. Thank Him or Her for our world and the peace we already can find here.

*Visualize peace. Take some time to really visualize peace. See nature being cleaned up and healed. See people laying down with animals and being loving towards them. See others helping out the homeless and those who are in poverty. Imagine everyone in thier own home being happy. Visualize weapons being destroyed, troops recalled from wars, and families finally being complete again. See education stressing peace and children learning to share and cooperate rather than hate and compete with each other. Envision people caring about each other and all of us as a united humanity. Imagine the world being surrounded by love and bathed in light from above which touches everything. Be very visual and emotional in regards to your visualizations.

*Imagine being a leader -- imagine things you would do if you had a say in matters. Do these things in your mind.

*While taking a shower, imagine as you are cleaning your body that your thoughts and prayers are cleaning the world. Visualize the world being cleaned up piece by peace.

*Speak nicely to others and do not act in anger during this hour. Be respectful of others -- and thank them for being in your life. Tell loved ones that you love them.

*Cuddle with your children, your spouse/significant other. Visualize and focus this love to all families and children all over the world. Invite loved ones to join your meditation and peace action.

*Be loving and generous with your attention to your pets and let this love you show them extend to all pets and animals worldwide. In regards to my own cats I have noticed that they will often participate and send love and peace out into the world as well.

*Garden. Let your heart and your soul love the plants and cherish/nurture them. Let this love focus on all of creation and all of nature.

*Be out in nature and just feel at one with nature.

*Support a project of peace or be active in a group that supports peace. Do a little action or two for peace in that hour if you can.

*Read inspirational topics, books, qoutes or look at inspireing pictures. Get emotional and let it out. Get yourself refreshed for the coming day of helping to bring peace to our world.

*Inspire someone else to do something for peace or to keep going.

*Write an e-mail to a friend for peace. Share thoughts and feelings and show why you are being positive towards peace.

In Peace,

The Top Ten Ideas for Peace Essay... :) January 25, 2008 9:42 PM

Greetings,

This is a longer version than my top ten list of the same name.

One: Recognizing our inherent connection with each other; as well as our differences:

It is time that we recognize that we are all interconnected because we are all human. Our separation is artificial and temporary. And they are not who we are because our lives and purposes are much deeper than to be bound by labels like nationality or religion. While we are all one humanity we must also recognize our minor differences and cherish those. After all, even though the flowers of a garden are all different they are still all flowers and only together do they make a garden. No matter our differences we all have a right to happiness and this is what we must realize before we can have any lasting peace.

Two: Live and Let Live:

This is probably one of the things that will if accepted universally cause the difference to let us achieve lasting peace rather than remaining in the current system of divisions and wars. By living our own lives, following our paths and letting others live theirs we take away the constant focus on forcing others to conform. In this, both we and others will feel more free and less judged. If this is adopted universally we will have already have peace on earth.

Three: Respecting our place on this world:

Once a majority of people really accept that they are not the masters of the world then they will think twice about what they are doing and begin rebuilding and healing rather than destroying. Really understanding our place here on earth is simpler than most would think. For those of us who believe in a Divine Being/God already know that we are the Children and our Creator is our Parent; thus it is almost understood that we should be respectful of our place here on Earth -- just as you would be respectful in your Mother's House. For those of us who do not believe in a Divine Creator this is still not as hard as most would think. After all, we only live a hundred years, compared to the millions of years that the Earth has endured and will continue to endure past our brief stay here. Most people know this just tend to ignore it. Once most people understand and keep this in mind things will get much better.

Four: Creating systems that will unify us:

The current systems hone in on our differences and divide us. We need to create a "new world" with new systems that are specifically created to unify us and that we all can share on a global level. This includes tossing out the old notions of countries and establishing a more flexible society of allied and united individual communities of people which have a few basics in common. We should have a common world unity flag, we should have our own motto's, our own symbols and have global traditions that all humans can share. Yes, this means we must embrace our global earth citizenship and use it to grow a responsible global society. Unifying all of humanity will be a good step towards world peace.

Five: Making a Commitment for peace:

There are many people these days that are willing to fight their causes with violence and who believe in the glorified view of wars and violence. It will become absolutely necessary for people to make an active commitment for peace. This means that people make a stand and say they will not support weapons research, they do not believe in wars to be the answers and that they will not support leaders anymore that make wars on others. Furthermore, a commitment for peace also means that the individual will teach and focus on peace rather than fighting, aggression and war. Once there is no one left to fight or support wars and weapons, the wars will be a thing of the past and we will be so much closer to lasting world peace.

Six: Re-balance the Masculine and the Feminine:

Currently there is a great imbalance present and it is between the Masculine and the Feminine. We all know that yang cannot exist without yin and yin cannot exist without yang; just as men cannot exist without women and women cannot exist without men. Both exist naturally in this world and it takes both to continue our species. As such both must co-exist and be equal -- this means in order to have lasting world peace the feminine must be valued once again.

Part Two: Top ten ideas essay January 25, 2008 9:48 PM

Part II.

Seven: Defining a code of Universal Morality:

Morality and how we should live is a major point of disagreement among many people and communities. As such identifying and codifying a universal code of morality is very important not only in uniting us but also in getting us to live better lives. As such, it is best to have those things we all agree upon be the universal code of morality. We should all strive to keep this level of morality. Because of this we should have a few rules of administration that must be mandatory such as the universal rule of not forcing your will upon your fellow Earthlings, animals, nor the world as a whole. Once we adopt those as Laws we will be on a fast path to lasting peace and happiness.

Eight: Keeping personal morality a personal choice:

Not to be confused with Universal Morality those things that we cannot all agree on should be kept as matters of Personal Morality. This includes things such as what to eat, what to wear, to drink alcohol or not, to gamble, what to believe in and so forth. Of course nothing that we indulge in should violate the concepts of peace and state of the world; but we should each be allowed to choose our own personal morality. Once most small day to day living is equally the personal choice of everyone without force; then we will have peace for we will no longer have anything to fight others about.

Nine: Identifying and "Fighting" our real enemies:

For so many millennia we have fought each other over such trivial matters as how to address God, for land, for patriotism, for revenge, and a hundred other reasons and sometimes no reason at all. It is imperative for world peace to happen that we finally stop fighting amongst ourselves and take a moment to identify our real "enemy". There is poverty, hate, ignorance, bad leadership, pollution and the like that we should tackle instead of each other. Focusing on these ills and problems together in unity makes us closer makes the world better for all; which will in turn help bring about lasting world peace.

Ten: Create peace within our own selves and families:

By creating peace within first and handing it on to our families and those closest to us we can eradicate war and create peace within a few years, even if nothing else is done.

Meditation and effect on peace locally/globally February 11, 2009 8:45 AM

http://www.care2.com/c2c/groups/disc.html?gpp=3626&pst=156130 REAL and sustainable peace starts inside, not outside. When we feel peaceful and happy, that affects everyone around us. To become more peaceful, meditate. This affects the whole world, including those who are close by. Meditation is one of those things that everyone can do, no matter where they are.
