Where in the world are you at and where in the world are you from? Please post this so that we may know how far and wide we span . I will get started...
I am New Zealand born where I lived 40 years, then moved to Australia where I lived 16 years (and became an Australian national) then in 2003 moved to the other side of the world to Isle of Man and guess I consider myself, for now at least, Manx by choice.... who knows where the future will take me.
Yeah, I am global as well :) December 27, 2007 9:45 PM
Yep, I am a Global Citizen as well; and this will not change no matter where I may live in the future . I hope eventually most if not all people will identify with being a "Global Citizen" and that individuals will identify most with being human; no matter what other heritage or home they claim as their own.
I was born in Corona, CA, USA, because my dad was stationed there in the Marines. When I was a few weeks old, they brought me back to Texas. I've lived in Texas most of my life, but was in college in Florida and lived in West Virginia for a year. I've traveled to the Yucatan and to Jamaica, but that's the extent of my foreign travels.
My grandmother was Native American, Cherokee to be exact. I am also English, French, and Irish.
I am a bit of a mixed bag of tricks. Born in South Africa to parents of Greek origin.......have Roma (gypsey) lurking very close by as well. Lived in Switzerland for some years....travelled from Scandanavia all the way through Europe down to the Mediterranean and back to Africa. Have travelled here extensively in Africa and again in Europe and Balkans....have a restless soul and love to wander and to me home is where I hang my hat. Have settled here though and have a home here where the children grew up. Love my home and garden and need lots of space in order to be happy.
Born in Westerly, Rhode Island, moved to Minnesota when I was five. Parents told me that religion and God were primitive superstitions and we were a scientific, intellectual family and wouldn't be held back by such nonsense. Went to school in California during the psychedelic sixties and barely survived them. Learned massage at Esalen Institute and traded that know how for five years of weekly acupuncture treatments in Florida from '98 thru 2003. Then had a major epiphany and kundalini awakening and realized I better get to India and quickly. Been here for almost a year now and loving it more each day.

Born in Kentucky, USA, and lived in that State in several places for first 30 years. Joined Peace Corps, 1978, and went to Jamaica for 3.5 years. Then to Ohio Unversity, Athens, for 3.5 years; then to Cal Poly U., San Luis Obispo, CA, for 3.5 years. Next, I taught in Taichung, Taiwan, for a year. Then, moved to Malibu, CA, for four years, before moving to the great State of Mississippi 11 years ago. I live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast in the town of Ocean Springs, where I teach at the high school.
I have also had stays in Costa Rica and Mexico and traveled to India four times and to other places.
This question is for Lee (and for anyone else who has been to India).
How is India? Why might a person be drawn to India though never having
been there before? What can you tell me about India... and what are
some of the nicest places in India to visit and live -- especially if
you are not a city - type of person....

...and to be a part of a *huge hug * by the first 'World March for Peace and Nonviolence'
The World March will begin in Wellington, New Zealand on October 2, 2009, the anniversary of Gandhi´s birth, declared the International Day of Nonviolence by the United Nations. In 90 days the March will pass through all climates and seasons, from the hot summer of the tropics and deserts, to the winter of Siberia. It will end in the Andes Mountains (Punta de Vacas, Aconcagua, Argentina) on January 2, 2010.
I am from where I live now Port Jervis NY USA a railroad city of about 9000 people give or take a few. We border the Delaware River which separates NY from Pennsilvania. New Jersey is on our southern border. Long ago the railroads were much more active here...many freight trains. Both my father and my grandfather worked for the Erie Railroad. Today it is mainly commuter trains that run from here down to New York City and back.
My international experience comes only from being on the internet over the past 15 years where I have met wonderful people that span the whole Earth. Customs may vary but we are not so different. Only our governments would have us think so to maintain control and to keep us divided. Hopefully with our new president some of this will change.
