When it came to eating vegetables as a child, Nelly would suddenly turn her back and stay as far away as she could from the green food. "I was an antivegetable-eater. I avoided all kinds of vegetables," Nelly told The Jakarta Post recently.

If Americans reduced their meat consumption by 10% it would free 12,000,000 tons of grain - enough to feed 60,000,000 people (the population of Great Britain) If all Americans became vegetarian, it would free enough grain to feed 600,000,000 people.

Thanks Ben,

Curiosity  took me to this  link above and I  noticed a$64 Tomato  being mentioned in it

Just then I remebered an  interesting part of this  most common vegetable,  a fruit that is  used for salad,  for curries and  thousands of  other preparations as supporting vegetables and as the main sustainer for  Sauses, Ketchups  and  Soups  has one very extraordinary property of slowing down aging.

I came across the following  piece of information in a local daily here.

"  Tomato  delays wrinkig of skin in face and hands.  I  helps maintaining skin tension. Just abou 65 Grams of Tomato bolied  and made into pulp taken every day as part of the meals will  result in this near miracle."

Hope   Price of Tomato  won't shoot up

Not only does livestock farming contribute to greenhouse gas emissions, but the increasing demand for meat is one of the key factors behind the rocketing cost of most basic foodstuffs, meaning that vegetarianism is now about saving human lives too.

Famous Quotes on Vegetarianism June 19, 2008 7:26 AM

My situation is a solemn one.  Life is offered to me on condition of eating beefsteaks.  But death is better than cannibalism.  My will contains directions for my funeral, which will be followed not by mourning coaches, but by oxen, sheep, flocks of poultry, and a small traveling aquarium of live fish, all wearing white scarfs in honor of the man who perished rather than eat his fellow creatures.

                                       ~George Bernard Shaw
