TreePeople is a nonprofit organization that has been serving the Los Angeles area for over three decades. Simply put, our work is about helping nature heal our cities. We offer sustainable solutions to urban ecosystem problems, focusing on three areas:
1. Training and supporting communities to plant and care for trees
2. Educating school children and adults about the environment
3. Working with government agencies on critical water issues

The City of Los Angeles provides eligible multifamily residential buildings with FREE recycling services by mid-summer. Multifamily residential properties participating in the program, will receive the following:
FREE recycling services once a week
FREE blue bins for storage of recyclables
FREE educational materials for residents about the types of materials accepted in blue bins

All Shades of Green is a retail store, design center and educational hub in Silver Lake. (I just saw them do a green fashion show at Vroman's bookstore for Earht Day - they started by telling everyone to think twice before buying new clothes, then to look in secondhand & charity stores, and only then to buy new & to make sure it was made of sustainable fabrics.)
Mutts & Moms is a non-profit organization that rescues dogs from Los Angeles and Kern County shelters. Mutts & Moms rescues mixed breed dogs (mutts) and Moms with the occasional litter, taking them out of the shelters and into foster homes and boarding kennels, where they are groomed, cared for, and then adopted into loving homes.
