One experience, two outcomes.

When we were little, my sister (4 years younger than me) and I were periodically the recipients of my father's de-cluttering jags. Whenever he felt that our accumulated stuff was too much to bear, he would take us through a whole day of throwing out stuff that we no longer needed (although sometimes this was more based on HIS opinion of what we still used, rather than our actual feelings--but little kids ofte have a hard time parting with stuff). My sister claims to have been mildly traumatized by this and today, has a hard time parting with possessions. I, on the other hand, LIVE to be able to dispose of more and more of my stuff. Funny how that happens.
