On a Dawn morn or dusk eve, find a special bottle, a pretty one the Fae would like that is. And pour into it 1 cup gathered spring or rain water 1 teaspoon of Pink Rose petals 1/2 teaspoon Lavender flowers Add 3 Quartz crystals Add 3 Amethyst Chips 1 pinch of Faery sugar (see recipe below) Nine inch piece of pink ribbon
Now hide this away in a dark cool place for three days. On the third day, again at dawn or dusk, in a place you think you might spot the Fae, like an Oak tree, backyard or mushroom patch in the forest. Even a potted plant, herb or Flower will do. Tie a nine inch piece of Pink ribbon arond bottle neck. Next, close your eyes and sprinkle 9 drops over each eyelid of your Faery Potion Water, careful not to get it IN your eyes! Next recite this Faery incantation and watch for the Fae.
Do you see the Faery? Ribbon of pink, I just might think. I would like to see the Fae today. Special sight of Faerys flight, Send to me the way today. A sprinkle here a sprinkle there, A secret spell I say today. Wispy wings and little things, Are what Id like to see today. PLEASE note this may need to be repeated to see the Fae, as they are VERY cautious little creatures!
3 cups fine white sugar 1 tablespoon Vanilla extract (the good stuff) 1/8 teaspoon red food coloring Glass container Lay sugar on wax paper & sprinkle on the Vanilla; stir into the sugar till all mixed in. Next sprinkle on the red food coloring and also incorporate in till sugar turns Faery pink. Save in glass container, you have labeled Faery Sugar; you can now use this special treat in the recipe above & for Faery cookies, cakes and offerings to the Fae. You can eat some your self, but remember the recipe is a secret!

Dallas Jennifer Cobb - the Witches Datebook - 2008
Okay, I know, it sounds vile. But it's a really delicious dessert, and if you have kids, they'll LOVE the idea of putting a bowl of Ghost Poop on the table. Whip this up the day before so the marshmellows can get nice and soft. It's not a true mousse, but comes out the same texture.
Prep Time: 15 minutesIngredients:
1 16-oz. tub frozen dessert topping, thawed
12 - 14 oz. chocolate syrup
1 C. mini marshmellows
1/4 C. chopped walnuts (optional)
1/4 C. shredded coconut
1/4 C. chocolate chips
1/4 C. candy corn, chopped
Preparation:
Put the thawed dessert topping in a large bowl, and gradually add the chocolate syrup. Mix while adding, so that the topping turns your preferred shade of brown. Use a little more or a little less syrup, depending on how dark and chocolatey you want your Ghost Poop.
Once your whipped topping is the right revolting color, add the marshmellows, nuts (if you're using them), coconut, chocolate chips and candy corn.
Cover the bowl and refrigerate overnight, so your Ghost Poop can firm up.
Serve in a big decorative bowl with a large spoon.
Soul cakes were traditionally baked as a gift for the spirits of the dead. In many European countries, the idea of "Souling" became an acceptable alternative for Christians. The cakes took many different names and shapes -- in some areas, they were simple shortbread, and in others they were baked as fruit-filled tarts. Still other regions made them of rice flour. Generally, a soul cake was made with whatever grain the community had available. You can make your own with one of these four simple recipes.
Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: 1 hour
Here's How:
Pie Crust Soul Cakes
You'll need:
A refrigerated roll-out pie crust
2 Tbs. melted butter
1 C mixed dried fruit
2 Tbs honey
Roll out the pie crust and cut it into circles. Use the circles to line a tin of muffin cups. Mix the butter, fruit and honey together. Scoop the fruit mixture into the pastry shells, and then bake for 15 minutes at 375 degrees. Allow to cool for about ten minutes before eating.
Quickie Shortbread Soul Cakes
You'll need:
1 stick of butter, softened
4 Tbs sugar
1 1/2 C flour
Cream together the butter and sugar. Use a flour sifter to add the flour to the bowl, and mix until it's smooth. Divide the dough into two parts, and shape each half into a flat circle about half an inch thick. Put them on an ungreased baking sheet (baking stones are really nice for this) and poke lines with the tines of a fork, making eight separate wedges in each cake. Bake for 25 minutes or until light brown at 350 degrees.
Buttery Soul Cakes
You'll need:
Two sticks butter, softened
3 1/2 C flour, sifted
1 C sugar
1/2 tsp. nutmeg & saffron
1 tsp each cinnamon & allspice
2 eggs
2 tsp malt vinegar
Powdered sugar
Cut the butter into the flour with a large fork. Mix in the sugar, nutmeg, saffron, cinammon and allspice. Lightly beat eggs, and add to flour mixture. Add malt vinegar. Mix until you have a stiff dough. Knead for a while, then roll out until 1/4" thick. Use a floured glass to cut out 3" circles. Place on greased baking sheet and bake 25 minutes at 350 degrees. Sprinkle with powdered sugar while the cakes are still warm.
Irish Cakes
You'll need:
4 C flour
1 pkt active dry yeast
1 C milk
2 Tbs butter
1/2 tsp each cinnamon & salt
3/4 C sugar
1/2 C lemon zest
1 1/4 C golden raisins
Cream yeast with 1 tsp sugar & 1 tsp milk, let it get frothy. Blend flour, spices, & salt together, then cut in butter. Add the rest of the sugar to the flour mix and blend. Add milk & beaten egg onto the yeast mixture; combine with flour mixture. Beat until stiff.
Fold in raisins and zest, cover with a damp cloth and let rise. Divide in two, place each half in greased 7" round pan. Cover, let rise again for 30 minutes. Bake 1 hour at 400 degrees.

Carrier Oils (Base Oils), chose the best recipe base from these mixtures:
Base oils are used as carriers for essential oils, and to dilute essential oils because they may be too strong to apply safely to skin. Possible carrier oils include:
Apricot Kernel oil: This light yellow oil provides a fine texture, is rich in vitamins and minerals, and a popular choice.
Castor oil: A thick, sticky oil with a strong odor. It has good lubricating properties.
Coconut oil: A light colored oil that turns solid in cooler room temperatures. A fractionated version is exceptionally light and will not become rancid making it a versatile carrier oil, though not often used.
Grapeseed oil: This oil has a very fine texture, with a distinct fragrance. It has a greenish hue. The oil provides vitamins and minerals, and is an antioxidant that will extend the life of other oils. Very popular oil that is easy to find locally.
Hazelnut oil: This oil is medium-light, and absorbs very well. It has a nice texture and a light and subtle fragrance that doesnt contrast greatly with the wonderful fragrances of natural herbs. My favorite choice for annointing and body oils.
Jojoba oil: The properties are similar to liquid wax, much different than vegetable oil. It is an antioxidant and does not turn rancid. Popular oil for massage, it remains heavy on skin surface.
Olive oil: Extra-Extra virgin, cold pressed is the best quality. Olive oil is very rich in vitamins, protein, and mineral content. It has a distinctive, somewhat pervasive odor, but works well.
Sunflower Seed oil: This is a nice lightly textured golden yellow carrier. Good essential fatty acids and vitamins, fair quality, low fragrance and slow absorption.
Sweet Almond oil: A Pale golden oil with glyceride, linoleic and olein acid. This is a very fine skin lubricant, rich in protein, vitamins and minerals. Another popular medium-light oil, my second favorite for all general use.
Wheat Germ oil: An orange colored oil that is heavy and sticky. Very rich in proteins, vitamins, minerals, and vitamin E. It is used mixed with other carriers oil for its antioxidant properties that prevent degradation and extend shelf life.
Approximate Measurements 1 drop = 0.05 ml 1 ml = 20 drops 1 teaspoon = 5 ml 1 teaspoon = 100 drops 1 tablespoon = 15 ml 1 tablespoon = 300 drops 1 ounce = 30 ml 1 ounce = 600 drops Option 1: For your best success, use fresh organic herbs so that chemical preservatives and pestisides on commercial plants are never included in your mixture. You may need to wild harvest, buy from a local organic seller, or grow your own herb garden. Forest herbs are wonderful, also- wild flowers in untended locations can usually be used. Herb gardens are easy, inexpensive, and require minimal attention. You can even grow your favorites in a window box to start with. Note: find a friend who has sage herb, tradition for sage is to be grown by another. Please dont take the time to grow your own herbs just to use them in a common vegetable oil that has preservatives, growth chemicals and pesticides. Choose the oil that most suits your use. Organic olive oil might be costly but is worth the extra expense it you are looking for something easy to find. You may want to make your own oil base after trying these oil making options. Check out a couple health food stores to try the recommended carrier oils.
Next, you will harvest, or gather and prepare your herbs. Herbs should be diced finely to allow maximum absorption in your carrier oil. Powdered herbs work best, since you can add them directly to the oil base for a quicker result and stronger end product. If you decide to dice, you can tie the herbs in cheese cloth, which is then placed directly in the oil. For fresh herbs 2/3 parts oil to 1/3 herb is recommended. Dried herbs will require a larger amount of oil, about 80% oil mixture will work fine. Now you need to extract the medicinal essence from the herbs. Heating the mixture to around 100 to 115 degrees for about 2 weeks. Some people place their jars in a sunny window, or outside where there is more exposure. You can check your oil every few days until you achieve the desired result. Your sense of smell is the best measure. Powdered herbs need to steep 7-14 days, diced herb take 2 or more weeks, depending on the strength you want to achieve.
The next step is extracting the oil from the herbs. You can twist the cheesecloth to strain the liquid into another jar, pour off the remaining oil, and let it all settle. After a day or two pour off the oil again to eliminate pieces of herbs and any liquid that surfaces. Your finished oil is ready to use, or store in tightly capped dark jars or bottles. Hint: a couple drops of Benzoin oil is a great natural preservative for oils that have low antioxidants.

Option 2: Choose a carrier oil (I prefer the overall qualities of Hazelnut & Sweet Almond), and fresh or dried herbs or flowers. Have one or more small Jars with tight fitting lids handy, to hold the mixture. Place the base oil (whatever oil you have decided to use) and herbs in clear jars, tightly cap. Store in a dark cool place. Once a week for 2 weeks, vigorously shake the mixture in the jars. In the third week, use cheesecloth to strain the mixture. Add more herbs and oil if necessary and allow to sit for another 2 weeks. When you have the scent that you want, strain the herbs out again and use your finished oil or store in a dark cool place.
Option 3: Pour your carrier oil into your mortar, add diced, crushed, or powdered herbs a little at a time, pressing into the oil with your pestle. When the mixture looks well blended, pour it into a bottle. Store the bottle in a dark, place for three days. On the fourth day smell your oil to see if it has absorbed enough of the herbal scents. When it smells right for you it is ready to use in your spell work. Or, add more herbs and repeat the process until your oil is as strong as you desire.
