There are so many things going on that we must Not tolerate... or we will be the walking zombies that the republican USA government bad guys etc wants us to be! Care2 is all about Not tolerating the destructive evils being done. I went to a place called Fort DeSoto today in Floriday...had a friend in town and wanted to show him some sights.  This was a fort used around the turn of the century during the Spanish/American war, and a bit during the Civil War, I think.

I enjoy history and historic places, but this place gave me a strange feeling.  As I walked through the abandoned rooms with bars on the windows, I felt trapped...very much ill at ease.  I examined some of the old cannons, but did not enjoy being very close to them...lol, my imagination acting up on me, probably!!  I felt much more at ease when I was back out in the sunshine and gulf air!!  I spent the rest of the morning watching pelicans dive for their lunches before enjoying a wonderful Thai lunch with my friends.  We were all pleasantly surprised when the friend from out of town picked up the tab.  How kind!  (None of us is "rolling in it", so it is a surprising and unselfish gesture!!)    Hope you all had a wonderful day also!

I too, do not pick Flowers nor have killed Trees propped up in my home and decorated with junk for the christmas materialist frenzy. Trees are Life and so are Roses... they are Living Beings with Spirit and Soul. Why are humans so quick to take the Life of other Beings? When I was living in the Hindu Vedanta Temple... I had to make garlands of flowers for the Deities and my Gurudeva, also I offered many picked flowers on the Hindu Deities Altar in the Temple during Sanskrit Puja Ritual. I was instructed to do this by my Guru, and I had to do this offering of picked flowers. But I no longer kill {yes picking is killing} the flowers by picking them and then offering them to the Deities. I am on my own now, and will not do this. I Love ALL Trees, Flowers and do not choose to rob them of their Joy of Life in their natural Life Cycle, nor cause them pain. I am extremely sensitive to All sufferings. If people want to decorate Trees for the holidays... decorate Living Trees and Bushes in your yard! Why torture and kill a wise Tree *then* decorate it? You can also buy a Living Pind Tree rooted and potted in a Big Pot, in rich organic soil with nutients and water, decorate it, then Plant it properly outside, after the holidays {at the right time seasonally for planting it}. And, DO Plant it outside properly and lovingly in a safe place. Trees are the Tree of Life! The temple Deities, I am sure, would prefer offerings of fruit, incense, and have Live potted flowering plants etc placed around Them in the Temple. Deity murtis~statues can also be outside in the luscious verdent flowering gardens and Mother Earth is constantly surrounding Them with living fragrant flowers. In the winter beautiful stones, pinecones, incense, pure water, handmade gifts, vegan foods etc can be offered to the Deities. Nothing needs to be robbed of Life in order to worship the Deities or to Celebrate anything! Pelagus... for your understanding & your compassion toward all living beings
indeed, we are all taught what to do & it leads us to do awful things, but i trust that every being is able to overcome "education" to grow & spread love & compassion! The simple fact of eating animals is a perfect example of the story... who hasn't been told as a child that s/he would die if s/he did not eat animals?

But today we have grown, & we keep on understanding this world... just never stop looking around... there are so many to respect!

Shivani I agree with you!

I also giving up all this dogmatic consummerism long time ago really I never cut a tree for christmas but instead i find out i rather put lights on the ones by my door and the beautiful Acorns that fall i have some huge ones here in Florida i like to paint in gold and put them all around the house including the Alter.

I rather get a potted flowering plant and just offer also in by the alter God don't ask us to cut those little entities He enjoys them also with one glance more than anything what matters is how much love we put on what we offer Him not on how we offer to him.

May all of you have a wonderful season full of Love and understanding.

It is really great to read all the postings. But please explain certain things like , what do you comment on how wild animals live. They kill the milder animals and also the vegetarian animals devour plants and also destroy many plants in the process. How do we look at it and how we should react on it. What do we do when a mosquitoe bite us.? The reflux is to kill it. Do you have any explanations for these.?

Yes I agree that it does seem a shame to cut down any type of life, from clipping flowers to rock hunting..however, I do not see how you can sustain your own life without consuming anothers. (There is always the ability of existing on "energy" alone, however I do not have this ability yet and do not personally know anyone that can do it, though they must surely be more evolved than I.)

I am an aspiring vegan, and I find myself having constant discussions with my omniverous partner. He likes to say that we are all lifeforms, and that it does not matter what type of form, for they are all equal. This is his reasoning for continuing to eat animals and their by-products. I agree that we are all one and the same, equal and beautiful in our own ways, but personally I could not take another "animals" life as I can take that of an apples or peppers when I pick it and eat it, and thus take its' life force into mine.  (The phrase: "you are what you eat" comes to mind.)

To quote you, Shivani(if I may), as posting: "Any human who exploits~harms any Precious Sacred Animals or Creatures or Mama Earth is truly a Devil!" but we are all sacred and precious. How is it possible not to "harm" anything in this world and yet live in it as well?
An apples life is equal to that of a rose, is it not?
I do believe there are things we can do to lessen any harm we inflict, such as harvesting the seeds from the plants you pick/eat and then replanting it, and also to use only products that are bio-degradable, reusable, recyclable, non-toxic, etc.

Yet I wonder, how many of the ladies who post are still shaving their legs? The razor blades go to landfills. If you wax, is the wax biodegradable and non-toxic? (I place "shaving" in the list of mis-education that girls are getting. When I was younger I felt it just was what women did, and never stopped to wonder WHY? Throughout high school I felt like such a freak if for some reason my legs were the tiniest bit hairy..Let's add natural healing to the list of mandatory things to be taught to all students in school.)

There are way too many things to think about; living on this planet is as complicated as it gets when you want to live humanely and in balance as best you can. I think over the years human beings have just complicated it more and more. Now maybe is the time for simplification?

there is a big difference between a fruit (apple, peach, durian, etc...) & a plant (carott, rose, salad, etc...) The first one is only what will help the seeds growing, the second is like you or a cat or any living being. Fruit are not alive, they only bring what is necessary to the seed to become a plant... a living being.
But there is a huge difference between eating plants reasonably, so you harm the less as you can (eating a larger amount of fruit). It is possible to live with abssolutely NO animal product, but some plants are necessary to humans to keep them alive (i'm talking about greens or leafs here)

~*~ Giblet !  Well... my Friend... there is no comparison whatsover between eating an Apple or an Orange ... Fruits and Veggies and *MURDERING* Beings  Who have A FACE... Intuition... Love... Wisdom... Incarnate as a Spiritual Being of Spirit/Soul... have Blood in their Veins and the Same Internal Organs as You Do!  ALL Animals and Creatures who can move and breathe whether on land, or under the water, or flying in the skies are EQUAL and even SUPERIOR to the human species in all ways! Humans should not harm Trees or other rooted living plants and flowers either, if they can avoid it! 

BUT... Apples and Oranges... Bananas... and ALL Fruits etc. are meant to be eaten... they fall off the Tree and rot.  It does *not* Hurt the Tree to eat the Apples... Oranges... and ALL Fruits and Veggies and Nuts... Seeds etc! Picking or eating the fruits fallen from a Tree does NOT hurt the Tree! Just like clipping your hair and fingernails does not hurt you! The Tree lasts for Aeons, but the Fruits fall off the Tree and are meant to be eaten! The TREE is the generous Spirit Being who lovingly gives living beings it's Fruits! This is not painful to the Tree! The Fruits feel no pain... just as your hair and fingernails do not feel pain when clipped! ALL fruits leave the Tree quickly and fall on the ground and rot if not eaten!  

People who think that Animals and Creatures {Who Are *People* Too... and More Evolved Spiritually etc. than Humans} are the same as a Apple and Orange or Banana or any Veggie etc. are really quite idiotic! LOL! If someone slaughtered and ate you, or your child or your family or best friend... do you honestly think it is the same as eating an Apple or Orange??? ALL Animals are Equal to Humans { Actually they are BETTER and MUCH MORE EVOLVED than corrupt  Humans} in every way. So *humans* should be eaten before any Animal or Creature is eaten... lol.  

Only cruel bloody flesh~eating human carnivores cannot tell the difference from an apple and and orange and the beloved precious Cow... Lamb... Cat... Dog... Horse... Fish... Elephant... Pig... Girraffe...  Dolphin... Whale... Butterfly... Frog and ALL Sacred Precious Animals and Creatures!

Psychopatic Murderers and Serial Killers all start out Tortureing and Murdering Animals and Creatures! *ALL* humans who harm and exploit any Animals and Creatures are the Same!

Spikey plants, sharp horns.. July 27, 2006 10:02 PM

It is probably no coincidence that many plants and animals seem to grow spikes, horns, etc. that seem to aid the continuance of their survival. I find it frightening that carnivores and omnivores still exist. I don't think they should have all died, I just think that with a combination of care and logic, they could have metamorphisised into something more benign. I would find it no compliment to turn into a being that needed others to suffer to have any pleasure for myself. How is it a compliment to existence itself if any creature exists that continues to need the pain or death of others to be happy or survive? If nature got this far on it's own, it is possible things will improve. If there are some kind of "Gods", or if there is some kind of intelligent higher power involved in the way things are,I hope that dreams of things ever more beautiful will lead to the manifestation of things ever more beautiful.

Someone does something really cruel to an animal, what do you do? You send that meanie to jail for a long time like they deserve, right!! WRONG!! No animal deserves to have physically or emotionally harmful things done to them just as no human does. No matter how long someone stays in jail their ways may not change and pain does not rule the world anyway. A human is like a computer in many ways. If they are doing something truly wrong they are not simply "evil" and pain will not make them all better. They need psychological "repair". If you just can't get over what they did and need to see them suffer, I'm sorry but you are wasting your precious time. The situation will remain asymmetrical no matter how much you try to find symmetry through revenge (revenge is too often mistaken as justice) If mental health care professioinals don't correct the problem, you or someone you love may just be the next victim of their mental sickness when they get out of a jail that wasn't the true solution.
