Any one understand the new prescription cards for seniors? July 02, 2004 1:46 PM

For some reason I just can't force myself to check out the new prescription discount cards for seniors. I think Ray signed up for the Golden Buckeye Card only because nothing really helps us with his medicine that we could find so he didn't think it mattered. I have a little time yet but am beginning to get interested just in case I ever need it.  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

Medicare med cards July 03, 2004 1:27 PM

Thankfully hubby and I have drug coverage through his retirement plan! I was on line for a friend who is paying dearly for B/C coverage and was interested in the Medicare card. Check it out and if you can understand it let me know!! I gather medication costs vary company to company and if you sign with one company you may find one of your medications is cheaper from another company. You are tied in and cannot comparison shop. This coverage is not going to be helpful in the long run and the only people who will bebefit will be the pharmaceutical companies.  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

Ray July 03, 2004 3:23 PM

Ray is on Medicare already and we pay around $250 a month for his medication. All the cards we have checked out really don't help us at all. They mostly help with drugs that are generic. The two biggies Ray takes aren't discounted as much as the $8.00 a month discount card he has currently. So he is going to stay where he is. I will start medicare Sept. 2005 and currently I take no prescription medicine but I want to find out more about them for the rare times I need one. The last one was 3 years ago when I was stung by yellow jackets. I hope that trend continues! Not the stinging, but not needing any thing. Another thing I just remembered, January 2006 it changes! I would only use one for 4 months any way! I probably won't even check into it. I would still like to know why we have it, is any one being helped by it? I would really like to know. Any one?  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

Medicare presc . cards July 21, 2004 6:53 AM

So far I haven't heard of even ONE person who will benefit. Everyone I've discussed it with, thinks it's a Scam between Gov. and Big Pharmas. I haven't begun to disect it all yet, thinking that perhaps w/luck, I might die before Jan.'06. LOL!  [ send green star]  [ accepted]
