Hi Alexandra and welcome to the group! We're looking forward to your input!
Welcome Bethany! It's so good to have you here and I am so glad you accepted the invite! Hugs to you my friend!
Thank you for inviting me Patti. I know nothing, unless you count the two words I know in the Korean language...."Thank you": Kamsa hamnida, and "You're welcome": A-ni-e-yo. and Hello in Spanish: Hola, and Hello in German: guten tag. And that is about it. I can recognize some words in German, and spanish, but that is about it. I want to learn a foreign language, or just dabble around and flex my mind.....I lived one year in Korea, and almost 9 years in Germany (3 tours w/ almost 3 years each time but separate tours starting at age 19 until about age 39) but always worked in a civilian office or such and never had time to take language classes. Thanks for having me here. I think this will be fun. I hope to get to know you all and learn. I am not quick, so I will be a slow learner.... Thanks and Have a great day, Bethany

I decided to copy/paste this Intro here from the Spanish thread. I was responding to Karen's Intro.
Thank you, Karen, for mentioning me. Yes, Karen W and I became friends through our joint interest in improving our Spanish. We emailed a little in Spanish for awhile, but then busy lives took over as usual.
Terry's Spanish thread is active and useful and much appreciated. Thank you, Terry, for your efforts and time. I am impressed.
I studied Spanish in high school and college for five years, many many moons ago. I still want to enjoy using Spanish better.
Peppermint Patti, you and your group have done a fabulous job with this group in a short time. Bravo to you all.
I joined right after my new friend, Helena D, joined; she speaks Finnish and English, as far as I know.
Hugs and smiles, Patty K.

welcome to the group Cheryl and Olivia we are so glad to have you here,i hope you will learn what you want here and hope that you will also post in any language that you know but please put it in English after the language have a great time here
I am so excited to be here. I was going down the list of posts, and I am very impressed with the diversity of the languages that people here have mastered or are currently mastering.
As for me, I am from the US- English is my first language, and you could say that Spanish is my second. I have also been studying Latin (although that's the "dead language") for 3 yrs now, and I am attempting to teach myself Yiddish, which is unfortunately also dying out as a spoken language. Yiddish connects me personally with my Jewish heritage, and although I have think that Spanish is the most beautiful language, Yiddish has a lot of cultural nuances, humor and ethnic pride embedded within the idioms.
Hi All for the Invitation, I'm an Aussie (Australian) have travelled extensively so have picked up a language here and there, am fluent in Italian, used to be fluent in Turkish, but haven't used it for so loooong..One of my friends is trying to teach me Farsi, (Persian) but I'm having trouble with the alphabet..!! Tried to invite her into this group, but care2 had the hiccups at the time so I'm not sure if she received my Invitation..Glad to be here, will attempt to invite a few more friends..
Welcome to the group Caroline.we are glad that you are here enjoy yourself and i hope you learn what you want here
Thanks Hans for the invite.
I'm from Australia, although I'm living in New Zealand currently. Unfortunately, I only speak English. I have tried learning French (had at least six attempts ) and have failed miserably each time. My husband, who is French, will only speak to me in English because he finds speaking to me in French too weird. I would love to learn the language, however.
I'd also love to learn German. My ancestors are from Germany, so I'd love to bring the language back to my family. I did start learning German last year and was getting on well, but then I got pregnant and I haven't had time for classes since.
I'm not sure how much I can contribute to the group having to care for a young baby and with my computer dying a few weeks ago - I now have to share hubby's computer with him, so my computer time is very, very limited.
Hi Sage glad to see you here the only language i know is English but i'm starting to Learn some new words in a few different languages buenos dias is good morning in Spanish have fun here learning a new language

This realy is a great group!
I have just posted this in the Care2 feedback and suggestions group!
Have deleted the first few questions...all kind of questions on Boycotts!
And last but not least how do i invite the people in GERMANY or at least the active ones?
Dr. Dr. Martin Balluch needs our help!
I can only reiterate: Folks, we are at a historic moment in time.
Animal rights has become an issue that seriously challenges the system.
The powerful have decided to smash it with brute force. We have to
stand together firm now and fight this decisive battle. We cannot let
them get away with that. We must win this one. No futher repression. No
silencing of legitimate activism anymore. If we do not manage to Stopp
this operation and hold these responsible acconntable, we won’t be able
to be active for animal rights any longer. No further retreat. Its
about all or nothing.
I count on you lot!
Language and communication is a great new group by Peppermint P. she deserves a web oscar for this group its amazing how many people want to learn and practice different languages! This might even be the key to a strong language community in Europe you know how many different languages we have in Europe! German would be great for Care2
how many members do we have in Germany, Austria and Switzerland?
110 Million German speaking people in EUROPE!
This group can unite more people than any other group !
I hope that Randy will help us to build a large language community...
welcome Frances,Pauline, and Phoenix.i'm so happy to see my friends here and i'm like you hope to learn some new languages, this is one great group just have fun learning lol
The C2 gremlins won't let me post more than a line, so far, before kicking me off!
Just want to say hi, thank you, sweet Terry, for inviting me...... and I'll be back when the crazy stuff stops.
Peace, Love & Light,
Bonsoir, je m'appelle Pauline merci Terry pour les invitation. I am hoping this group might help me with my French? I'm English but I live in the Caribbean on the island of Guadeloupe where the people only speak French or Creole and I must admit I'm lost with both languages. HELP!
Muchas gracias, merci beaucoup, and thank you to Hans for the invite!
My primary language is English, Spanish secondary, but not perfect. I took a year of French in high school, now also studying Hebrew, German. A few words of Japanese learned from anime. Always eager to learn more!

Wow! I am overjoyed by all our members! Thank you so much for your support! Thank you to Ana for her inspiration and Terry for keeping the fires hot while I am at work! I love it when our members post in English and secondary languages so we can learn together! Thank you!
Welcome Akua and Kathleen to the group i hope that you enjoy the group and get to learn the language that you want to learn
I will be attempting to learn Dutch in my spare time - although I have no spare time, yet because I'm getting a doctorate degree right now.
We lived in Ghana, W. Africa ('58-'60) and my father learned Twi, but I only remember a few words. I'd like to connect with someone who knows it. Dad is 80, yet still can speak & write it. My name from there is Akua.
Thank you everyone!
Hi Veronica welcome to the group we hope that you will enjoy yourself

Is mazedaar varg mein aamantrit karne ke liye main Hans ko dhanyawaad dena chahungi. Main asha karti hun ki mujhe yahan bahut kuchh seekhne ko aur anek logon se milne ka avsar milega.
I know a few Indian languages. The few words translated above are in the Indian national language, Hindi. I hope to learn a lot in this group, can't wait to get started!!
Lots of love,
Sabko bahut saara pyar,
(Means "Satisfaction" in Hindi)
Thanks for the invite Hans. This will definitely be a challenge for me, but I'm willing to give it a go! We will see if an ole dog CAN learn new tricks! English/American is my main language. Yo hablo un (piquito)sp? Espanol.( I speak a very little Spanish)...Very rusty on the spelling LOL! Know the alphabet in American sign..thanks Girl Scouts! Also know a few cuss words in other languages! I think we Americans are not given enough opportunities to learn a foreign language. I took what was called Conversational Spanish HA! I don't think I will ever use phrases like: Let's go to the dog races, hurry they're about to begin! I wouldn't ask that on so many levels!
Thank you for the invitation Hans and Hello to everyone here.
I remember hearing my grandparents speaking German when I was a child but my parents refused to speak it and it was outlawed at my city's schools after WW ll so I never had a chance to learn it. I have listened and picked up a few words of Russian from my husband's family over the years.
I am looking forward to learning more of these languages and I love Gaelic but haven't had much luck learning it on my own.
Thanks for the invitation, Hans..Danke für die Einladung Hans...
My language is German, I know English and a little bit Spanish...but really only a little bit.
Ich spreche Deutsch, kann English und ganz wenig Spanisch, aber wirklich nur ganz wenig.
I hope, I can learn other languages. Ich hoffe, ich kann andere Sprachen lernen.
Love and hugs to you all. Liebe und Umarmungen für euch alle.

I just love learning new languages, but I know it takes time and time is not on my side...
I look forward to exploring this group some more.
Looks like a Great Group PATTI!! Thanks again for the invitation Ladyyyy!
Welcome to the group Laura and bub we are glad that you are here have fun and hope you learn a new language
Hi, Well mine is english with a dabble of Spanish and German but not very much use in conversation. Funny thing though working on this boat with 12 different nationalities it amazes me how sign, hand signals and many other non verbal skills are used to communicate with each other because of limited english skills . On boats worldwide the international language is english.
WE certainly get along and get the job done as long as we are willing to try.
HI. My name is Laura. I am a senior in College and my degree is in communication.I love the subject and i am thinking when I graduate I will go on for a master's in teh same subject, it always helps to learn new and interesting things. I am up at 3 in the morning unable to sleep, which is when I usually check care2. The intro said to talk about languages. Well, I am not fluent in anything other then English , but I know enough American sign language to hold a small conversation, and enough Spanish to do the same. I am a 27 year old ,Brain tumor survivor, my anniversary of my brain surgery is a week from Saturday, September 6th. I will be having my 17 year anniversary.I call September 6th my re-birth, birthday! I am starting my second project with the brain tumor foundation, this one is an internship and I can say that I am over joyed. I have been blessed to travel quite a bit in my 26 years. I want to continue to meet people from all over the world. Networking is such an important tool...and who knows, maybe I will make friends a long the way! The thing I have learned about communicating is that networking is so important for humans, because we are social creatures by nature, and the more we understand each other the more we can progress as a global community!
Have a great morning ,afternoon, evening, or night, where ever you are on this tiny planet!
Wow! Terry you are such a blessing! Thank you to all for joining! Your support, graphics, and posts are much appreciated! I love it when you post in both languages for English translation! Really helps! This is so exciting! I love it!

This is really the kind of group we needed. Thanks, Terry, for the invite. I created already a topic for my own language (Dutch) and I invite all my Flemish and Dutch friends to visit it. I would like to see some South-African friends too. There language is not entirely the same, but we understand each other.
Hugs for everybody from the old hippie.
