Hi Animal Advocates, Mary Kay, Avon and Estee Lauder have resumed animal testing for the Chinese market. This is torture for cosmetics - a cruel, antiquated, redundant and unnecessary practice (all animal testing falls into this category in my mind, but this is particularly heinous). With in-vitro testing, animal testing is simply not necessary. I drafted a petition targeting these 3 companies. They were not testing and received positive press for this, but quietly resumed testing to gain access to this growing market. If they realized that we're watching, and that they'll lose a segment of their western markets, they may reconsider. This petition was posted it over the holidays, I think some folks missed it: http://www.thepetitionsite.com/199/430/336/avon-este-lauder-mary-kay-resume-testing-cosmetics-on-animals/ The petition is nearing 1000 signatures, I'd like to get 1500 before the end of the month. Please help get this to 1500 and beyond. Thanks, Kirsten
These companies should be ashamed of themselves. Thanks Kirsten. Be good if you could write or get someone to write an article & then post it on Care2. The community needs to know about this. Gladly signed.
