ROD's Drive-in Theater
| Blue Label

Our friend Marc Gartmann has graciously agreed to provide us with a list of those valuable documentaries and movies that you probably will never have a chance to watch at the movie theater next door.

On many occasions, I came across a number of these must-see movies at a time when I didn’t have the time to watch them. Then when I wanted to watch them at a later date they were never easy to locate.

ROD’s Drive-in Theater is hoped to be the place where these movies and documentaries can easily be located.

So bring your date to ROD’s Drive-in Theater, kick up your heels, and enjoy our ROD-flavored popcorn as you watch those movies that your government and average theater don’t want you to see.

I’m certain that by the time you’re done watching your first movie, both Marc and the movie will get two thumbs up.

And those thumbs will be the thumbs of honest folks like you who have no interest in the financial aspect of the movie but in the message it conveys.

Once you’re done, please share your experience with us and write your own review so others can benefit from it.

I know Marc will take the lead on this, but I’m sure he can use all the help you can give him to make this the best depository for movies and documentaries that you’ll never have a chance to see anywhere else.

Best of luck to you, Marc and thanks a bunch for agreeing to educate us and inform us and mostly for being our friend.

This is my favourite for the moment

I saw it 3 times and still get moved by it.

We is a fast-paced 64 minute documentary that covers the world politics of power, war, corporations, deception and exploitation.

It visualizes the words of
Arundhati Roy, specifically her famous Come September speech, where she spoke on such things as the war on terror, corporate globalization, justice and the growing civil unrest. Witty, moving, alarming and quite a lesson in history.

We is almost in the style of a music video, featuring the
contemporary music of Lush, Curve, Love & Rockets, Boards of Canada, Nine Inch Nails, Dead Can Dance, Amon Tobin, Massive Attack, Totoise, Telepop, Placebo and Faithless. The music serves as wonderful background for the words of Ms. Roy and images of humanity in the world we live all in today.

We is a completely free documentary, created (and released) anonymously. There are many ways to download and view it.

The new Alex Jones - Terror storm.

This is the best of Alex jones till now. About the history of false flag operations. The 7/7 bombing in London, Cindy Sheehan, the kidnap of your liberties, the doublethink and your favorite president.

I especially liked the history of known false flag operations.

This is the main website. The movie will premiere on July 28th. Go see it. I'm promoting this movie everywhere and if you look at the 14 minute promo at the website you will do to. Like a reporter said:'

CBS News: "Four Stars (Highest Rating).
The Scariest Damn Film You'll See This Year"

"FOUR STARS (Highest Rating). The scariest damn film you'll see this year. It will leave you staggering out of the theatre, slack-jawed and trembling. Makes 'Fahrenheit 9/11' look like 'Bambi.' After watching this movie, your comfy, secure notions about America -- and about what it means to be an American -- will be forever shattered. Producer/director Aaron Russo and the folks at Cinema Libre Studio deserve to be heralded as heroes of a post-modern New American Revolution. This is shocking stuff. You'll be angry, you'll be disgusted, but you may actually break out in a cold sweat and feel a sickness deep in your gut; I would advise movie theatre managers to hand out vomit bags. You may end up needing one."

explores the nature and spectacular rise of the dominant institution of our time. Footage from pop culture, advertising, TV news, and corporate propaganda, illuminates the corporation's grip on our lives. Taking its legal status as a "person" to its logical conclusion, the film puts the corporation on the psychiatrist's couch to ask "What kind of person is it?" Provoking, witty, sweepingly informative, The Corporation includes forty interviews with corporate insiders and critics - including Milton Friedman, Noam Chomsky, Naomi Klein, and Michael Moore - plus true confessions, case studies and strategies for change.

Winner of 24 INTERNATIONAL AWARDS, 10 of them AUDIENCE CHOICE AWARDS including the AUDIENCE AWARD for DOCUMENTARY in WORLD CINEMA at the 2004 SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL. The long-awaited DVD, available now in Australia and coming in March to North America, contains over 8 hour of additional footage.

The film is based on the book The Corporation: The Pathological Pursuit of Profit and Power by Joel Bakan.

In THE CORPORATION, case studies, anecdotes and true confessions reveal behind-the-scenes tensions and influences in several corporate and anti-corporate dramas. Each illuminates an aspect of the corporation's complex character.

Among the 40 interview subjects are CEOs and top-level executives from a range of industries: oil, pharmaceutical, computer, tire, manufacturing, public relations, branding, advertising and undercover marketing; in addition, a Nobel-prize winning economist, the first management guru, a corporate spy, and a range of academics, critics, historians and thinkers are interviewed.

In the mid-1800s the corporation emerged as a legal "person." Imbued with a "personality" of pure self-interest, the next 100 years saw the corporation's rise to dominance. The corporation created unprecedented wealth. But at what cost? The remorseless rationale of "externalities"-as Milton Friedman explains: the unintended consequences of a transaction between two parties on a third-is responsible for countless cases of illness, death, poverty, pollution, exploitation and lies.

The Century of the Self

How politicians and business learned to create and manipulate mass-consumer society.

Episodes: One |  Happiness Machines

Episode Two  | The Engineering of Consent
Adam Curtis, The Century of the Self tells the untold and sometimes controversial story of the growth of the mass-consumer society in Britain and the United States. How was the all-consuming self created, by whom, and in whose interests?

Freud provided useful tools for understanding the secret desires of the masses. Unwittingly, his work served as the precursor to a world full of political spin doctors, marketing moguls, and society's belief that the pursuit of satisfaction and happiness is man's ultimate goal.

Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3 - Part 4

Edward Bernays was a nephew of Freud and the father of Public Relations.

Why We Fight

It is nowhere written that the American empire goes on forever.

Plot Outline: Is American foreign policy dominated by the idea of military supremacy? Has the military become too important in American life? Jarecki's shrewd and intelligent polemic would seem to give an affirmative answer to each of these questions.

A compelling overview of American militarism

This is about the myth of Al Quaida (how do you spell this?) set in the world by the neo cons. The origins of Islamic extremism, and the immensly exaggerated war on terror where they are hunting on ghosts (and perhaps produce some if they need it).

In a society that beliefs in nothing, fear becomes the only agenda.

Unconstitutional provides the facts and stories that illuminate administration lies, wrongheaded policies, and the real victims of these actions--the American people.

Here, you'll get the real story behind the USA PATRIOT Act and other administration policies and the gut wrenching stories behind those affected--from law-abiding store clerks to United States Olympians unable to travel. It'll remind you of what America used to stand for and what it seems we're falling for now. In short, this one-hour film will affirm why you're angry and give you a tool to help others join your ranks

Paradise Now

The years most insightful and unvarnished look at the motivations of terrorism

Very powerful film that goes beyond the obvious, delivering a strong insight into a difficult subject, while maintaining a tension and drama that makes it impossible not to be stirred by the film. Delivering a film without falling into the pitfalls of political correctness or propaganda is an achievement in itself.

A must see movie.

New Ruler's of the World

A documentary film by John Pilger

'Global economy' is a modern Orwellian term. On the surface, it is instant financial trading, mobile phones, McDonald's, Starbucks, holidays booked on the net. Beneath this gloss, it is the globalisation of poverty, a world where most human beings never make a phone call and live on less than two dollars a day, where 6,000 children die every day from diarrhea because most have no access to clean water.

How the U.S. Uses Globalization to Cheat Poor Countries Out of Trillions

We speak with John Perkins, a former respected member of the international banking community. In his book Confessions of an Economic Hit Man he describes how as a highly paid professional, he helped the U.S. cheat poor countries around the globe out of trillions of dollars by lending them more money than they could possibly repay and then take over their economies.

Dr. Bill Veith and Alex Jones have a fantastic discussion about the fiat money system in place and controlled by the international banking cartel. Dr. Veith’s understanding of the economic system is impeccable and shows in the clarity in which he presents his knowledge. He lays out in layman’s terms how the economy is manipulated and how one can protect oneself in an economic collapse by owning gold and silver coins; tangible wealth that can not be deflated.

A Tony Robbins film on 9/11 showing another way to deal with it.

When the attack on 9/11 happened Tony Robbins was giving a seminar. The attack just happened. Don’t mind the stupid voice on the back ground in the film, but especially look at the part where Assad speaks up and how it goes from there.

John Perkins speaking at the 'Veterans For Peace National Conference'

In this part John discusses, from a hit mans perspective, the reasons and background to why we are at war in the Middle East.

In this part John discusses, from first hand experience, the globalization efforts of the corporatocracy in Central and South America.

In this part John takes Q & A and discusses actions which can be taken to counter the globalization efforts of the multi-national corporations.

As an EHM (Economic Hitman), John’s job was to convince Third World countries to accept enormous loans for infrastructure development—loans that were much larger than needed — and to guarantee that the development projects were contracted to U.S. corporations like Halliburton and Bechtel. Once these countries were saddled with huge debts, the U.S. government and the international aid agencies allied with it were able to control these economies and to ensure that oil and other resources were channeled to serve the interests of building a global empire.

In his EHM capacity, John traveled all over the world — to Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East—and was either a direct participant in or witness to some of the most dramatic events in modern history, including the Saudi Arabian Money-laundering Affair, the fall of the Shah of Iran, the assassination of Panama’s President Omar Torrijos, the subsequent invasion of Panama, and events leading up to the 2003 invasion of Iraq.

John Perkins is a hero who has really added to the discussion about our future.

His book, "The Secret History of the American Empire", is a fabulous read as is "Corporate Hitman". Both are a mercilous analysis of American Foreign Policy and show how Corporations have and are subverting all mediums of communication. We in America receive such a corrupted and subverted view of the World from our MSM sources, were it not for the Internet we'ld be screwed and totally in the dark.

Greg Palast's "Armed Madhouse" in it's updated release should motivate a lot of people to help us take back America's Future.

Zeitgeist - best documentary I ever saw

About the (astrological) origins of Christianity and other religions, 9/11, the Federal reserve, the income tax, the World Wars, Vietnam, the 'deliberate' dumbing down of America, the war on terror, the North American Union, the chip. It brings it all together.

Especially the first part on the origin of religions was very interesting.

If this film doesn't wake you up, nothing will.

For the people who are new to this: I hope you watch it, but be warned that it will be a hard wake up call.

In the end the truth will set us free.

P.S. The first 4 minutes are in audio with no image. Sit through it, it's well worth the two hours of viewing.

A high quality documentary containing a lot of information.

Hailed as "powerful" and "quietly unflinching," Patricia Foulkrod's searing documentary feature includes exclusive footage that will stir audiences. The filmmaker's subjects are patriotic young Americans - ordinary men and women who heeded the call for military service in Iraq - as they experience recruitment and training, combat, homecoming, and the struggle to reintegrate with families and communities. The terrible conflict in Iraq, depicted with ferocious honesty in the film, is a prelude for the even more challenging battles fought by the soldiers returning home – with personal demons, an uncomprehending public, and an indifferent government. As these battles take shape, each soldier becomes a new kind of hero, bearing witness and giving support to other veterans, and learning to fearlessly wield the most powerful weapon of all - the truth.
