Mercy Of Grace March 07, 2006 6:33 PM

Sunday night I went to bed early, as I had to wake up at 3 am for work. Around midnight a friend called me. This is a guy I had been working on for about 3 and a half years. He was one of those that always said "all I need to do is be a good person."  When he called me that night, he started talking about a band we both listened to. Now I am thinking, surely he did not call me this late to talk about this band. It turns out I was right.

He started talking to me about God, and asking how to be saved.   God gave me the tools that night to talk to him. What I said was basically this.

"You cannot personalize the Bible. Jesus said what he meant and that is it. Put it this way, if I dont believe I have a friend name Greg, than i can never go to Gregs house. If you dont believe in God, you can never go to HIS house, which is Heaven."

Corinthians 2:2 though are bodies are dieing, our spirits are being renewed everyday, and our present day troubles  are quite small and they wont last very long, yet they produce for us an unmeasurable great glory that will last forever. So we dont look at the troubles we can see right now, yet we look forward to what we have not yet seen. For the troubles we see right now will soon be over, but the joys to come will last forever and ever.

Good Evening Steve. What a great story to share. It just one more way of Jesus telling us to be ready. Often he may call on you to sow the seed and someone else nurture and grow that seed.We really need to be ready and open for such things as this. Beth  [report anonymous abuse]  [ accepted]

I felt so great about this March 07, 2006 7:39 PM

Please, whenever you feel that you arent getting thru to anybody, be patient. Sometimes a seed takes a lot of watering to grow and bear fruit.  [ send green star]

Recipient of the Seeds... March 07, 2006 7:42 PM

I was saved and born again at 46. I can think of so many different seeds over the years that finally came to fruit at atime and place that the sowers of the seeds never knew.

The important thing is to just keep planting them and trust the harvesting in the hands of the Holy Spirit.

PRAYER:
WHAT  JESUS AND THE DISCIPLES SAID!

FROM THE HOLY BIBLE [THE NEW TESTAMENT!]

[ send green star]  [ accepted]

 June 14, 2009 9:16 AM

MATTHEW 18:1-8
1.) JESUS told his disciples a story about how they should keep on praying and never give up:
2.) In a town, there was once a judge who didn't fear God, or care about people. 3.) In that same town there was a widow that kept going to the judge and saying, "Make sure I get fair treatment in court."
4.) For awhile the judge refused to do anything. Finally, he said to himself, "I do not fear God and I do not care about people, 5.) I will help this widow out because she keeps on bothering me. If I don't help her she will wear me out."
6.) The Lord said;
Think about what that crooked judge said. 7.) Won't God protect his chosen ones who come to him day and night? Won't he be concerned for them? 8.) He will surely hurry and help them. But when the Son of Man comes, will he find on this earth, anyone with faith?

Matthew 7:7-11
7.) Ask, and you will receive. Search and you will find. Knock and the door will be open.
8.) Everyone who asks will receive. Everyone who seeks will find. And the door will be open to everyone who knocks.
9.) Would any of you give a hungry child a stone if a child asks for some bread? 10.) Would you give your child a snake if your child asked for a fish?
11.) As bad as you are, you still know how to give good gifts to your children. But your heavenly father is even more ready to give good things to those who ask.

MATTHEW 11:27 & 28
27.) Everything has been entrusted to me by my Father. Only the Father knows the Son, and the Father is known only by the Son and by those to whom the Son reveals him.
28.) Come to me and I will give you rest--all of you who work so hard beneath a heavy yoke--for it fits perfectly--and let me teach you, for I am
gentle and humble, and you shall find rest for your souls, for I give you only light burdens.

THE (SCIENTIFIC) DEATH OF JESUS
At the age of 33, Jesus was condemned to the death penalty.
At the time crucifixion was the "worst" death. Only the worst criminals condemned to be crucified. Yet it was even more dreadful for Jesus, unlike other criminals condemned to death by crucifixtion Jesus was to be nailed to the cross by His hands and feet.
Each nail was 6 to 8 inches long.
The nails were driven into His wrist.  Not into His palms as is commonly portrayed. There's a tendon in the wrist that extends to the shoulder.  The Roman guards knew that when the nails were being hammered into the wrist that tendon would tear and break, forcing Jesus to use His back muscles to support himself so that He could breath.
Both of His feet were nailed together.  Thus He was forced to support Himself on the single nail that impaled His feet to the cross.  Jesus could not support himself with His legs because of the pain so He was forced to alternate between arching His back then using his legs just to continue to breath.  Imagine the struggle, the pain, the suffering, the courage.
Jesus endured this reality for over 3 hours.
Yes, over 3 hours! Can you imagine this kind of suffering?  A few minutes before He died, Jesus stopped bleeding.
He was simply pouring water from his wounds.
From common images we see wounds to His hands and feet and even the spear wound to His side.  But do we realize His wounds were actually made in his body.  A hammer driving large nails through the wrist, the feet overlapped and an even large nail hammered through the arches, then a Roman guard piercing His side with a spear.   But before the nails and the spear Jesus was whipped and beaten.  The whipping was so severe that it tore the flesh from His body.  The beating so horrific that His face was torn and his beard wripped from His face.  The crown of thorns cut deeply into His scalp.  Most men would not have survived this torture.
He had no more blood to bleed out, only water poured from His wounds.
The human adult body contains about 3.5 litres (just less than a gallon) of blood.
Jesus poured all 3.5 litres of his blood; He had three nails hammered into his members; a crown of  thorns on his head and, beyond that, a Roman soldier who stabbed a spear into his chest.
All these without mentioning the humiliation He passed after carrying his own cross for almost 2 kilometres, while the crowd spat in his face and threw
stones (the cross was almost 30 kg of weight, only for its higher part, where his hands were nailed).
Jesus had to endure this experience, so that you can have free access to God.
So that your sins could be "washed" away. All of them, with no exception! Don't ignore this situation. JESUS CHRIST DIED FOR YOU! For you, who now read this. Do not believe that He only died for others (those who go to church or for pastors, bishops, etc).
He died for you!
Accept the reality, the truth that JESUS IS THE ONLY SALVATION FOR THE WORLD.
God has plans for you, show all your friends what He experienced to save you. Now think about this! May God bless your life!

THE MOST IMPORTANT PETITION:IF YOU ONLY SIGN ONE PETITION SIGN THIS ONE!! October 16, 2009 4:51 AM

Dear Donna,

This is a crucial year in the fight to preserve religious freedom worldwide. Open Doors USA will be helping to lead the advocacy effort at the United Nations to prevent the Defamation of Religions resolution from passing through our Free to Believe Campaign. But we need your help. Please sign on to our petition to register your disapproval of the resolution. The campaign already has recieved an amazing response with over 2,600 signatures. But we need to keep the momentum going.

The Defamation of Religions Resolution seeks to criminalize words or actions as attacks against a particular religion. As incredible as it sounds, passing this resolution could allow a Christian to be persecuted under UN approval. We need you to voice your protest of this resolution.

The resolution protects a faith rather than individuals who hold a faith, which goes against the very purpose of human rights in international law. The result is that this resolution gives UN sanction to Muslim majority countries to persecute Christians and other religious minorities for not sharing the same beliefs as Muslims. It also provides legitimacy to these countries' blasphemy laws which are often used to accuse, imprison, and even murder Christians.

While Defamation of Religions Resolutions have been introduced and passed in previous years, it is up again this year for re-authorization. Policy experts at the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom believe we have a real opportunity to defeat it this year. Members of Congress and non-profit organizations will be organizing to urge countries to vote NO on Defamation of Religions Resolution.

Please sign the Free to Believe Petition today! Many signatures gives our advocacy team the backing to approach these countries and ask them to change their vote.

Advocating with you,

Lindsay Vessey

When you are looking for a place to hold Bible studies, or prayer meetings, or to worship, or hold Christian activities, you might have to look in some unusual places.
While the weather is still nice, at least sometimes it is, you can hold your bible studies in the outdoors. Perhaps a park that isn't used much, a beach by the lake, or if your lucky enough by the seashore. Perhaps one of your members has parents who own a farm. Maybe they have a barn that they are not using. It would your groups responsibility to clean it up and fix it the way you want it, but if these parents are sympathetic to your cause, they might let you use the barn rent free. Or perhaps if you have a van or bus you can go to an old village that has emptied out and find a place there to hold your meetings.
Let me tell you a story.  When I was young, a long time ago, I used to party. I started partying as a college student and believe me the partiers on that campus would go to great lengths to find a place so that we could have huge parties. If it were someones house, it would end up a mess, and things got broken. If it were in the country, there would be broken bottles, or plastic and paper cups strewn all over the ground, bon fires out of control and one time a man even fell into the bon fire. But no matter what, we always found a place to have our parties. I believe that if people who only want to practise something that is destructive and makes people sick on top of that, can find a place to hold their noisy, destructive parties, than we as Christians should also go to great lengths to find a place to hold Bible Studies and prayer meetings and worship the Lord. What is in our favor is that as Christians we will be respectful of properties, clean up after ourselves, provide a positive place to meet where people will become healthier spiritually and improve their behaviors, and most of all we will have the Lord Jesus on our side! We can not lose!
