Mike A.	Welcome please read first November 14, 2004 10:12 PM Ok so like I am a profesional couch surfer. I am not picky. Couch,futon,rollaway,murphy bed,hide a bed,air mattress,sleeping bag,your floor(carpet would be nice) hammock, your back yard or shrubs (only in warm climates) the back seat of your car or van. If I am roll'n through your town and you would like me to sleep over drop me a line. I will not raid your frig or liqour cabinet,I promise. If you are a dude, don't try slip'n something in my back door while I sleep,I am a light sleeper and come prepared for such situations. If you are a Serial killer don't even go there because you may end up in the cereal instead of me,once again I come prepared. If you are a dudess I promise not to hit on you,all I am after is a little sleep time. My credentials go back to the late 60's. I am clean and will even do a few light chores in exchange for surfing your couch et. al. .I am better than a house pet as I will not take a dump in your planters or urinate on your rug. LeBourlingueur P.	where are those couches??? July 10, 2005 5:15 PM Interesting stuff here... I'm a restless traveller and i moved around quite a bit.... my favorite are road trips. However, i usually stay at friends' houses, in fields, parks or near some quiet logging road or dirt road. before my trips, i always seem to have the luck to connect with people who'll shelter me. last september, i spent over 3 weeks in france and only slept in hostels 3 or 4 nights, and then one night outside (just bad timing on my part). Before i came to CHina about 9 months ago, i had the luck to connect with friends of friends (even friends of friends of friends) and i had a couch (and later a bed) to sleep on for my first week or so. "couch surfing" as you call it is the way to go!!! I noticed most of you are north americans. unfortunately, i don't think i'll be back in this area for another 6 months or so. i'll keep this group in mind next time i'm about to hit the road. talking about hitting the road, in a couple days i'll be going on a trip across china... any couches in that area? i might already have a couch in Xinjiang province (another friend of a friend), but would love to have one in chengdu, lijiang or dali. keep wandering all of you travelers, and keep welcoming them all of you sedentary people... Figure if someone stumbles upon it they might join. I had thew pleasure of couch surfing my way through Europe.
