Meaning of royal minor arcana cards November 21, 2004 6:24 AM

Hi:

I guess I will start a new question. Hope that's ok - and please forgive if my questions are naive - I'm so new to all of this!

Many times, when I am doing a tarot reading for myself, I get the same royal minor arcana card somewhere in the layout of cards. My gut feeling is that this card represents my husband and how he figures into my question, but I don't know if maybe I'm just reading something into it that shouldn't be there (we are really, really close, and have been told more than one by psychics that we have a link to each other).

So, my question is: when the same card keeps coming up (especially a royal minor arcana card), is it more likely to represent a person in my life or am I supposed to think about the traits, emotions, etc. that are linked to that card?

Court Cards :) November 21, 2004 6:40 AM

"My gut feeling is that this card represents my husband and how he figures into my question,"

When doing readings its always better to go with your gut feeling

When a court card pops up yes it normally is pointing to a someone in your life....

Court card usually are speaking of some one in your life by not always ...

Example : I have done readings were a court card my represent a coworker or friend of a friend....

Namaste

Always yes think if the traits in the card as it may point to another person in your life or give more answers as to what it may have to do with your hubby pertaining to that reading

For many yrs I got a court card and I thought it dealt with my exhusband, but after furthur study of the card and its (( hidden meanings )) the card was really speaking of my son...  and some feelings that needed to be addressed... after I took care of this rarely do I get that card unless my son is in need ...

Hope this helps

Let me know

You said: "So, my question is: when the same card keeps coming up (especially a royal minor arcana card), is it more likely to represent a person in my life or am I supposed to think about the traits, emotions, etc. that are linked to that card?" The way you are discribing it, this card is acting as a 'significator' - a card that represents a particular person, sometimes the querant, sometimes not. The reason that the cards act as significators is that the person represented shares that card's traits, emotions, etc. For example, the Knight/Prince of Pentacles/Coins/Discs who represents stability, gain, responsibilty, and stubbornness is the significator that I use for my husband because they share the same qualities. Significators don't have to be Minor Arcana Court cards, either. They can be any card in the deck that has the qualities of the person it is representing. If you'd like, I'll post some generalized information about significators for you in a bit.  [ send green star]
