Jesus Is The Resurrection

JOHN 11:25 NKJ
25 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He
who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.

What did Jesus mean by saying He is the resurrection?

Resurrection is not just an event, but a person: the Lord Jesus
Christ. He is our resurrection. Those who are united with Jesus
Christ through their belief in Him experience His resurrection
life, even now.

1 JOHN 5:12 NKJ
12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of
God does not have life.

It also means that because of our union with Christ Jesus,
death cannot hold us captive. Even though we may pass through
death, it cannot hold us.

Because Jesus lives in us, death cannot hold us any more than
death was able to hold Jesus.

In Jesus Christ we have the guarantee of resurrection and
eternal life.

SAY THIS: Jesus Christ is alive! Because He lives in me, I
shall continue to live, also. Death is defeated!

Always Put God First

3 "You shall have no other gods before Me.

People can lose perspective and put other things before God,
such as wealth, success, pleasure, or even family.

But a wise person will always put God first.

6 In everything you do, put God first, and he will direct you
and crown your efforts with success.

Why should you put God first in your life?

First, because God is worthy. He deserves first place. God is
perfect! (And nothing else is.)

Never forget that God knows more than you, and can do more than
you can.

Second, because it puts into motion God's law of sowing and
reaping in your life. God says He will honor those who honor
Him (1 Samuel 2:30). When you put God first you will be

2 "And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake
you, because you obey the voice of the LORD your God:

So it's in your best interest to put God first in every way you
can. Here are some ideas for you to consider.

Before you make a decision, look to God for direction.

Don't ask anyone else for advice before you ask God.

When you have a need, talk to God before you mention it to
anyone else.

When something good happens to you, let God be the first one
you talk to about it, offering Him thanks.

When you receive income, let giving to God come first before
anything else.

Before you eat, first thank God for the food. You don't need to
pray for all the missionaries, or even have to pray out loud.
Just look to your Source and thank Him before you eat.

When you wake up, talk to God before you talk to anyone else.
That doesn't mean you have to spend hours praying. It may just
be saying, "Good morning, Lord!" but always keep God first.

Every day before you listen to the world's news, go to the
Bible and listen to some of God's good news.

33 "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness,
and all these things shall be added to you.

SAY THIS: God deserves first place in my life.

One of the strongest images of standing strong in a storm is the lighthouse. In the era before radar, satellite navigation and GPS systems, lighthouses were vital to protect ships from crashing onto rocks, shoals and shores. Building lighthouses can be considered one of man’s most noble endeavors. Since the beginning of seafaring, families and friends have lit bonfires at night to guide sailors home.

George Bernard Shaw said, “I can think of no other edifice, constructed by man, as altruistic as a lighthouse. They were built only to serve.”

And evangelist D.L. Moody commented, “Lighthouses don’t fire cannons to call attention to their shining—they just shine.”

Jesus used this imagery of light to describe our role in His kingdom. "We are the light of the world," He said, after claiming Himself to be the true light. Therefore we function much like a lighthouse, both internally and externally.

The first design for a lighthouse is the internal function of generating light. Early lighthouses used a literal fire that had to be constantly fed and watched. Later, electric lights were utilized, and ultimately laser lights. But this light still has to be internally projected. So we too, as followers of Jesus, project internal light; the outer expression of the inner life, under the control of the Holy Spirit.

The other aspect of a modern lighthouse is that it also is an external reflector. Over the years of improvements, revolving lenses have been developed to reflect that internally generated light further into the darkness.

As the moon reflects the light of the sun, so we reflect the light of the Son in a world of darkness.

And finally, lighthouses remind us of God’s love. Like the bright shining beam of a lighthouse, His love reaches out&hellipiercing through the darkness of any storm.

Today and throughout this year I will be a
lighthouse for Jesus, projecting His inner light
and reflecting His light externally.

Lord, may Your love and Your light pierce the
darkness of the world around me as I stand strong
and faithful for You like a lighthouse, today and through the year ahead.

Matthew 17:20

And He says to them, Because of the littleness of your
faith. For, assuredly I am saying to you, If you are having
faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this
mountain, Remove hence to that place, and it shall remove.
And not even one thing will be impossible to you.
