Black Panthers Return to Philly; GOP Inspectors Tossed
5 years ago

The Philadelphia GOP is reporting that court appointed Minority (read GOP) Inspectors are being thrown out of polling locations in several Wards.

Reports on the ground indicate the Black Panthers are at polling locations.

The Philadelphia Enquirer is on it:

These Inspectors are election officials – again, court appointed — and are reportedly being thrown out by the Head Judges of Elections (these Judges are elected Democrats) .

Judge issuing order to reinstate booted Philadelphia election officials, Republicans say
5 years ago

A Pennsylvania judge is issuing an order to reinstate Republican election officials across Philadelphia who allegedly were ejected or refused entry by on-site Democratic voting chief judges, GOP officials tell Fox News.

One Republican official claimed that "just under 70" Republican election officials were blocked from Philadelphia polling sites Tuesday morning by Democrats on site. One of them, the official claimed, "was shoved out of the polling place."

"For this many inspectors to be ejected from polling places is rare, even for Philadelphia," the official told

Elsewhere in the city, a representative from the New Black Panther Party was also spotted outside a polling site. The New Black Panthers stirred controversy in 2008 when members appeared outside a polling site, one of them holding a billy club. The representative seen Tuesday morning was not armed.

The flap over the election judges, though, was widespread. Republicans claim they are obtaining a series of court orders to seat the so-called election "inspectors," and sheriff's deputies will be available to escort them.

Despite the high number of officials who were allegedly booted, the dispute itself is not uncommon for Philadelphia. Fred Voigt, legal counsel for the city commissioners, said these kinds of face-offs happen "with regularity" in the City of Brotherly Love.

"It happens all the time," Voigt said. He said court-appointed Republican officials typically show up on Election Day and end up squaring off against stand-in officials at the polling sites filling in the open seats. Part of the problem, he said, is that the Republican inspectors are appointed on relatively short notice, leading to a string of confrontations on Election Day.

"There are no cool heads here," Voigt said.

The on-site election officials are responsible for verifying the identity of voters, and monitoring for signs of fraud or disenfranchisement.

Ok...remember the woman who had to cover her Bible T-shirt when she went to vote?  Well if this don't frost you then nothing will:

WOW. If you went to vote at this polling place in Philadelphia, you were met with a mural of Obama.

This is NOT what Democracy looks like!!!!!

I heard the seals have organized to meet them as well.  Now is that Obie picture INSIDE a polling station?  That kind of thing is ILLEGAL here in Canada and campaigning on election day is illegal as well.  Election signs are only allowed so close to the polls and I forget the distance.  All campainging has to stop here at midnight the night before.

PICKET: GOP - Poll watcher in Detroit threatened with gun, 911 call rejected
5 years ago

Tensions are high all over the country at the polls today. The Michigan Republican Party is alleging that a poll watcher in Detroit on Tuesday morning was threatened with a gun. According to the Michigan GOPthe poll watcher's 911 call was rejected. Below is a press release from Michigan Republican Party spokesman Matt Frendeway:

This morning, a legally credentialed poll watcher was threatened and intimidated while attempting to perform his legally allowed duties of observing the election process at precinct polling location 289 in Detroit. The poll watcher, a lawyer, was confronted by a voter in line, who demanded the poll watcher produce his credentials, which he did.

However, the voter said that wasn’t good enough and that he had “a badge and a gun” and told the poll watcher get out of the precinct. Rather than allow the situation to escalate, the poll watcher left before the voter produced a badge or brandished a gun. Fearing for his safety, the poll watcher exited and called 911, however the Detroit Police refused to respond to the call – neglecting the fact that a voter alleged to have a ‘badge’ and a ‘gun’ in a precinct, putting other voters at risk.

Michigan Republican Party Chairman Bobby Schostak issued a statement concerning the issue the following statement:“Poll watchers, precinct workers and voters should not be put in danger when performing their duties, our Republic requires free and fair elections.

“I can only hope that this morning’s outlandish, reckless and dangerous behavior, was not part of a coordinated effort by the Democratic Party and therefore, I am calling on Mark Brewer, Democratic Party Chairman, to condemn these threats of violence and pledge to ensuring all election workers, volunteers and citizens remain safe.”

Is there any way that anyone can not see we need to get the Democrats out of control of this country and NEVER let them get the control again! If ANYONE ever forgets this election they need a boot in the rear in order to remember it! I think from now on every election needs to have all of the threats from the Democrats to be replayed over and over again so people will never forget!! On top of that I think we need to make more serious charges for any goons who want to pull this kind of crap and then make them STICK!!!

Wow Cam....what did you ever do to ME Mayer????  My gosh....she has a cob up her aZZ!!!   The woman is wound so tight that I think she is going to bust!!!!

Is she after me Maui????  She is young and dumb.  Same way I was back in the day.  See I hold a lot of liberal views that are the exact opposite of you folks here yet you over look that because IF we argue it is not about the social issues we disagree on.  Abortion, gay marriage etc.  We will NEVER reach agreement on that.

But what we do agree about - fiscal responsibility, border control, honesty in politics just to name a few we focus on and join together as a group and stand strong. It is like a discussion thread on religion (one of the worst things for me to discuss because I can't believe in something that is not tangible to me).  You folks do and you have a right to that in a free country so the issue to me is moot.  I respect your choice.  You EARNED my respect so we can discuss and disagree without the hate and vitriol that exists in the American political arena.

A discussion is not an attack on what you believe opposing what I believe.  It starts with the agreement YOU HAVE A RIGHT TO THE WAY YOU THINK because we live in free countries (well for the most part here in Canada right now eh?) and we go from there.

It starts as the Tea Party does with what we can agree on.  Linda agreed with everything down the line.  Thought the same as you do because she was a Christian I think.  I never did.  Never conformed to anything so gues I just want to say thanks for being so tolerant of me.

If ANYONE did that ouside a poll here in Canada they would be sitting in jail.  So would whoever it was that ejected the Republican poll watchers.  Very sad that you even need those across the line.
