This isn't the only kind of problems United has had, in the past either. They are an airlines I will, whenever possible, and not too inconveniencing, avoid.

I've flown United since Pan Am went under and have enjoyed their flight service for hundreds of thousands of miles. Over 30 of those flights were round trip flights back to my folks home in Hawaii. I don't recall ever being unhappy with a flight or their service. I can't say the same for the other airlines I've used. TWA, Continental, American, were all second choices. Braniff, Southwest, and other cut rate airlines were always third.
Oh gosh.....I think Southwest has been our best experience in flying.....they were awesome last month on our flight to AZ. And no baggage charge...that is a plus.
That's who we fly with whenever possible.
