YOUR FIRST CHRISTMAS CARD
Twas the month before Christmas
When all through our land,
Not a Christian was praying
Nor taking a stand.
Why the PC Police had taken away
The reason for Christmas - no one could say.
The children were told by their schools not to sing
About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.
It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say
December 25th is just a ' Holiday '.
Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit
Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!
CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-Pod
Something was changing, something quite odd!
Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa
In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.
As Targets were hanging their trees upside down
At Lowe's the word Christmas - was no where to be found.
At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears
You won't hear the word Christmas; it won't touch your ears.
Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-is-ty
Are words that were used to intimidate me.
Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen
On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton !
At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter
To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.
And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith
Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace
The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded
The reason for the season, stopped before it started.
So as you celebrate 'Winter Break' under your 'Dream Tree'
Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.
Choose your words carefully, choose what you say
Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS,
not Happy Holiday!
Please, all Christians join together and
wish everyone you meet
Christ is The Reason for the Christ-mas Season!
If you agree please forward, if not, simply delete.
Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS,
not Happy Holiday!
Yep! Just what I did when I went to Walmart yesterday, to the cashier and the bell ringer outside. Now, the bell ringer didn't say nanything, just nodded and smiled, but I need to go back there before Christmas, so if they don't do it again, I'll ask them if they are allowed. The cashier did smile and say Merry Christmas back. Hope Walmart hasn't got a rule that their employees can't say it! I'm bound to call management if they do.
I guess living in the Bible belt has it's benefits this time of year. Everyone at Walmart says Merry Christmas to us. Usually we say it first and I can accept that since they don't know who might celebrate it and who doesn't.
I remember when I was a young late teens to early 20 that I used to write xmas. Then I heard about people who were trying to kill the holiday with some stupid excuse of separation of church and state. It was then I heard that people who say xmas were leaving Christ out of the holiday. It had a profound effect on me! I vowed to never again use the term xmas when I referred to Christmas.
I do check each year and will avoid any and all stores who refuse to call it Christmas. I don't set up a holiday tree and I don't give out holiday gifts. It's not xmas or Xmas, Christmas. It's a Christmas tree and it's Christas presents. It's been so for over 1500 years. Over 150 centuries almost destroyed by a few decades of intolerant angry people. Some of us hang in there. We say Merry Christmas, we smile, we give to the poor, we feed the poor and we carry on our tradtion of remembering the reason for the season and keeping Christ in Christmas.
Whether someone believes in God or Jesus or not, they still celebrate Christmas and hold to the mantra of peace on earth, good will towards men. It's the best time of year, the very best of all holidays and recognized around the world. I love Christmas. I love being Santa. But most of all, I love the respect people from around the world give to one man, born over 2000 years ago and who taught the world that peace was more important than anything else.
Merry Christmas my friends!
Merry Christmas back Michael, and everyone at FSM. We love playing Santa too. This year I found a Texas Christmas hat for my husband, so I'll still wear the red one. I love watching the kids open their presents. I say Merry Christmas wherever I go. If I hear it whispered back though, I'm going to ask if they are told not to. That would be infringing upon an employees rights too, as far as I'm concerned. They should be allowed to say it to a customer, IMO, without having to worry about that person not liking it, if that's what they themselves like to say, and if the customer doesn't say it back, so what? IMO, they need to grow up if they feel offended. They have as much right to not say it, as the other person should have a right to say it.
I say MERRY CHRISTMAS too!!!!!!!!
