The need to protect our wild places has never been greater than it is now, which is why we're starting the countdown to Earth Day early this year. The official celebration is Sunday, April 22, 2012 but the many threats wilderness is facing make it critical to declare every day Earth Day.
You're absolutely right, Mamabear..If wee don't apply these principles then we really shall leave behind a legacy of a ruined Earth.
Earth Hour...every hour...Earth Day Every Day....
there is only one finite planet/home for life, we must save it for all and the future.....
Today we pause to remember that our earth sustains
us only as long as we sustain it. Let us remember that
we are only just a part of this fragile
system; we are not in charge but by virtue of what we
have done we hold temporary responsibility. We survive
and thrive only as long as we sustain one another and
sustain where we live. Earth day is not about only the
soil we stand on and the air we breathe but the encounters
we have on this earth and with this earth and how we can
recognize, sustain and enhance the good.
On Earth Day, may we too, be a blessing to Mother Earth.
May we revel in Her, and She in us. May we leave Her
healthier than we found Her.
Blessed Earth Day!!
As Wiccans, EVERY day is Earth Day for us! She is our Mother, and we need to respect and care for Her as well as, if not better than, She cares for us!
As the Native American saying goes, "We did not inherit this planet from our ancestors; we are merely borrowing it from our children." What kind of world do we want to give to them? The answer to that one should be a no-brainer!
