The last posting says it all and especially the Isle of Man website where the GBP15 flights IOM-Belfast or Blackpool can be found. The latest way to avoid the UK Passenger Departure Taxes for flights out of Europe lead over Dublin. Its all there.
Merging two threads - Here an update July 24, 2007 7:13 AM
Data and tips on getting to and around Isle of Man April 08, 2007 8:29 AM
What started out as a purely Manx guide on planes, boats and trains, became an Anglo/Celtic/Manx website and is now a worldwide website and ever growing
You will see that an option to Mount Murray Consultancy webpage is there and that has links to almost all the island's photographs sites
Hope this is helpful

This is a similar group to the Airnuts Care2 group and is intended to supplement the ability to discuss, contribute and feed back travel reports, travel links and recommendations which you might have from your own experiences. It doesn't, however, have a 6'000 character text limit.
If you prefer not to receive more mail, simply go (after joining) to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Travel-Holidays/ then to Edit Membership and select "Special Notices" which will limit any mail to important notices from moderation and serious virus warnings
What with Aer Arann no longer flying to Luton from Mann (from 9 Jan onwards) and Liverpool wanting to charge £2 for entering the security area (Ryanair and easyJet think differently) and with all the other news coming up such as a Global Budget Airline joint ventured by Air Asia, easyJet and Virgin, it is best to check out the sites mentioned below for the latest and to have a peep at AirNews regularly
Things are changing all the time - too much so to mentioned here on an up to date basis
Happy travels Gari
(just back from a Dublin-Tenerife return for free i.e. £25 rtn incl taxes etc)
What you can pack into your suitcases, handluggage and lots more Tips and Recommendations are also to be found via the Options section of those two sites
Lastly there are links to my original and first ever webpage where the non-financial section will lead you to all photo sites of Mann and
http://great.outdoors.com which is our new nature site which already has a "Glenology" section with nearly 120 glen names to work on.
For travellers - especially sailors who don't want to fly - we have worked on Greenland, Iceland and the Faroes so Scandinavian and (Scottish new air links) are now covered.
If the updating date has changed at any orf those site then something exciting has been added. Presently, it is Pt2 of THC that is being expanded to cover every and each country in Africa, Asia and SE Asia
No need to save favourites (bookmarks) re travel - its all there and , if not, use the feedback email to let us know
Have a good week Gari - from the rainy and windy IOM
Liverpool, Luton, Manchester and California December 03, 2005 2:42 AM
Well, Alpha One DID fly one Southampton-IOM flight on Nov 7 and then promised to be back with Southampton, Blackpool and Edinburgh on Nov 24. Now there is no mention of Blackpool but Edinburgh (Dec) and Cardiff and Southampton (in Jan) instead. I guess we'll wait and see what happens first and then see if it happens regularly.
Meanwhile, the Belgian VLM is busy providing the London-City service and the Irish Aer Arann has £13.99 fares to Manchester and London-Luton
Taxes/Charges/Fees Companies like easyJet who show inclusive prices are often thought to be dearer than the exclusive prices no-frills airlines. Don't believe it! I looked at IOM to Manchester, Luton and Liverpool return today and find to my horror that leaving from Liverpool is substantially dearer than from Manchester or Luton. Leaving from IOM is the expected one way £15 approx. From Manchester it is not much different and from Luton neither but from Liverpool it is a whopping £30 - making the £13.99 each way to and from Liverpool + £45 taxes/charges on the return fare (round trip). TIP: Fly TO Liverpool but SAIL back
Good news by fall 2006 for those flying out of Florida and California as Aer Lingusis getting in on the open skies possibilities quickly and DUBLIN is the place to head for. The US could be in for some competetive transatlantic air prices in the coming year.
Meanwhile, www.flyzoom.com and www.airtransat.ca get you from Canada to Europe (as far as Greece) and back (www.globespan.com for UK departures). Both companies fly on to Florida/Caribbean destinations. £89 fares common with about £45 taxes charges on leaving UK but only about £16 leaving Canada. Flying from Canada to UK there are some super deals (note the $ is C$ at the .ca site) but it is rather complicated to find the site.
You probably want to see Eire and Northern Ireland anyhow and Scotland and the Isle of Man are but a no-frills flight away. It is also a Ryanair base (although the largest net by far is from Stansted)
Check out the latest news at AirNews which was updated for Nov 30 (will go to archives tomorrow) and up to Dec 02 today. Use the Email link there if you have a question but ensure the automatic subject placer is not removed (a lot of Hi, Congratulations and Help mail gets auto-trashed at that account)
VLM today and Aer Arann on the 24th November 01, 2005 10:19 AM
Eagerly we await the 7th and Alpha One's inaugural flight IOM-Southampton run by the 19yr old "Baby Branson" whose initial plans for Oxford to Cambridge never took off
Meanwhile, today Nov 1, the Belgian budget VLM Airlines took off from London City for the Isle of Man returning this evening. This affords a new Brussels link with the island
Recently, the trusted Aer Arann which used to serve the IOM-Glasgow route but for long has maintained a Dublin-IOM service, is now flying Liverpool as promised and is due to fly Manchester and newly London Luton (both on the 24th).
How important is this on a world forum? Well for those visiting the island (IOM) it is of importance as we were headed for an Atlantis type stranding with our best winter boat sold and the cheapest airlines pulling out.
Good news on the air services front and good news around the corner and about to be announced on the sailing front so the Isle of Man won't be stranded after all
I live in Washington state (US). My hubby moved her 2 1/2 yrs ago from Liverpool so we could get married. Anywho, next year we are planning a trip back to his home and I can't wait because we are also planning on visiting your fair island. I am so excited!!!! This is a great link to help with the planning.
The place where you can be kept most abreast with getting to and from Mann (and Europe) is at "Airnuts" http://travel.holidays.com and the latest news is at AirNews section.
Gari,
thank you! It's an excellent site indeed- I am, at this moment, looking at Norwegian travel possibilities to the Isle of Man.

Months of work have been put into that site which covers rail, bus, air, ship, accommodation and dining at both ends and all you need to get here - apart from swimming trunks and private small boat hire
All you need to do is click above and select - there are two IOMSPC boat sites.
The certificate which enables an airline to become an airline and which also determines its country of domicile. Can be likened to the number plates of a road vehicle
Getting To/From and around the ISLE OF MAN June 12, 2005 4:34 AM
Many of you already know my MMC Worldwide Links site at http://travel.holidays.com which will get you here and us there as well as getting you from Vanuatu to Venezuela. New airlines and stretches can be found at the AirNews option and TravelReports as well as Tips & Recommendations are also provided.
The site is constantly being updated and should meet your personal travel needs and is certainly worth checking out before visiting your travel agent. Northern US travellers are advised to consider flying across the Atlantic from Canada as considerable savings can be made.
Tomorrow the 13th June 05 is really an unlucky day for the Isle of Man as the cheapest Liverpool stretch airline Emerald Airways is ceasing passenger business and EuroManx is taking over
Manx as it sounds, EuroManx flies as "Our flights are operated by EuroManx Airways GmbH" which is a German or Swiss limited company designation. As the EuroManx livery has been photographed on Canadian, Irish and German registered airplanes to date and as EuroManx fly with Austrian, Swiss and UK registered planes too, goodness only knows what this AOC*-less Manx booking agency has as a domicile. Offices in the Isle of Man don't make it a Manx airline and British compensation coverage for "belly upped" airlines will hardly apply to it. More at AirNews today.
