SOME VERY GOOD REASONS NOT TO COMPLAIN ABOUT YOUR LIFE!

Peace & blessings,
Marge
Marge, I would really like to thank you for posting this...this IS a reality check indeed! I hope you don't mind but I'm going to email this to a few people and hopefully it'll get around the world ![]()
This thread really made me think...twice about any more complaining that I might do in the future...i'll think back on this thread.
Many happy blessings! ~Robin~
Aloha & Mahalo,
This posting has reminded me to love more, to give more, to care more, and to be a lot more grateful.
I offer a simple Buddhist prayer for those who are suffering & wonder what else I can do:...
May all beings big and small be free from fear and suffering. May all beings know and feel that they are loved more than they can know. May our world wake up to the power of love, kindness and giving.
God bless us all.
What can we do to help? As Joy said, pray. Then find other ways to help, e.g. food for food pantries, some shcools have recycling dumpsters to earn "extra" money, support a charity that works overseas, e.g. CARE, Catholic Relief Services, whatever. Next, pray some more...
I lived in the Phillipines for 2 yrs. A local family came to our gate early on and asked us to separate "edible" garbage from non-edible so he could feed his pig!
Oh, here's another concrete thing to do...
The Hunger Site and the other sites with it are not only "click to donate" sites, but one may purchase items... fair trade, organic, buy a goat, etc. on these sites that will directly help people all across the globe.
There are two bumper stickers worth repeating... "Think globally - act locally" and "If you want peace, practice Justice" (or something similar... remember I have cognitive/memory difficulties).
Peace & blessings,
Marge
PS: Now pray some more...
So many great ideas Marge!
I couldn't imagine living like some of these unfortunate people do
May their lives be touched by caring, loving and giving people like ourselve. ![]()
Thanks again Marge for posting this for a reminder to all of us that there are people worse off then we are and these people need prayers and healing hands.
God bless!
Thank you Marge. What a breath of fresh air you are and a blessing also. EVERY day I am so grateful for all that I have especially for the very reason you have just depicted. But for the grace of God it could be me or any one of us. Everyday a great tragedy doesn't befall my family I notice, I am grateful and I give thought to those not so fortunate. What a blessing to have arrived here.Thank you.

Wonderful, Marge wonderful thought provoking post! I become more thankful for my life and all I have (although I might be considered poor by many other Westerners) after I lived in Guatemala, and saw many of the things in those pictures.

A little kick in the rear when I'm having a bad day!
Enjoy everyone!
This is so true. We don't know what we really have till it is shown to us in pictures.
we just try to pass it to someone else. Say it isn't our trouble.... wrong.... If we treat everyone like there is no one family, everyone are brothers and sister.
There would be happiness not jealousy
Julia, you're so right. We are all to be held responsible for plight of people who live in such destitute poverty. It's insane it's till happening in the 21st century! Like the Bahai say, "The Earth one country, the people, its citizens."

Live simply so that others may simply live.
Peace & blessings,
Marge
AMEN ....
God Bless those unfortunate children... My thoughts and prayers are with them...
love in Christ,

For Christmas, I gave my son and his wife each a gift of a donation to - gifts that give more.
For my daughter-in-law I gave "outfit two girls with school uniforms and the necessary supplies for a year of school"; & for my son (who loves to cook) "The Berkeley Darfur ultra high-efficiency cook stove."
They were actually thrilled (or at least seemed to be) by these gifts.
It's such a simple was to help... even donations as little as $1 USD helps.
Peace & blessings,
Marge
PS: One may also purchase items on the hunger site and associated sites that contribute to various causes. Nice stuff too...

Just click on the site link...
Thank you it is always good to be reminded of how wealthy we are...When you talk about gifting for charity it is a family rule now....(big Family) only granparents can gift the rest of us have to find creative ways to honor our family members and make donations in their names. This year our sister inlaw lost her much beloved family dog and a donation was made to the SPCA in her memory. Could I also suggest for all of you who gift your children's teachers with chocolates, cups etc donate on the hunger site to send girls to school or pay teachers salary in their name. What a gift to honor an teacher, training for another! Peace and all Blessings to all who think as Marge does.
Thank you again
Dear Marge,
Thanks for the 'reality check' as always your finger is on the pulse. I begin my day every morning with prayers of gratitude, lighting a candle of unconditional love and placing those who are most in need in that space. It is good to know that your heart is in the right place and that your generosity in helping others never stops. You have wonderful leadership skills and this i'm sure encourages others to do their best. I am grateful that you are my friend.![]()
