SINCE WE ALWAYS HAVE NEW MEMBERS - HERE ARE THE RULES - YOU CAN ONLY GUESS 1X BEFORE NYACK COMES BACK WITH THE ANSWERS AS TO WHICH LETTERS ARE CORRECT.
HOWEVER IF YOU REALLY THINK YOU KNOW THE ANSWER - YOU CAN GUESS - BUT PLEASE DON'T GUESS UNLESS YOU ARE PRETTY SURE - IT MESSES THINGS UP IF YOU GUESS PART OF IT AND NOT ALL OF IT - THEN I NEVER KNEW WHAT LETTERS TO TAKE OFF ETC. HOPE THAT MAKES SENSE!
We will try both the scientific name, and common name this time- (a little more challanging...)

Tell Costa Rica to Stop Shark Finning
President Laura Chinchilla Miranda,- Ministry of Environment Mrs. Maria Guzman Ortiz, Mr. Ruben Munoz Robles
Shark fin trading in Costa Rica, or shark finning, is an illegal practice in the country. Yet it still continues.
Shark finning is a cruel and barbaric practice of cutting off the fins of live sharks, and throwing the helpless body overboard. Unable to swim, sharks sink and drown. The fins are then sold as an Asian delicacy for soup- a,k.a "Shark Fin Soup" and imported to Taiwan, Hong Kong and China for $100 a bowl.
Aside from the cruelty of shark finning is another concern. The illegal shark finning industry in Costa Rica is putting many shark species on the verge of extinction.
Since the late 1980's, populations of northwest Atlantic coastal and oceanic shark have dropped by an average of 70%, and in 2003 the World Conservation Union (IUCN) estimated that tens of millions of sharks are finned and discarded at sea every year.
As of June 2009, there are 64 known species of pelagic sharks and rays, 32% of which are categorized as either: vulnerable, endangered, or critically endangered. Stop the shark finning industry in Costa Rica.

Maximum total 49 cm ( ), immatures ( and ) 20 to 21 cm.
The Caribbean roughshark, Oxynotus caribbaeus, is a sleeper shark of the family Oxynotidae, found on the upper continental slopes of the Caribbean Sea, at depths of between 400 and 450 m. It reaches a length of about 50 cm.
Oxynotus is a genus of sharks in the order Squaliformes, commonly known as the rough sharks. It is the only extant genus in the family Oxynotidae. They live in deep waters in the Atlantic and western Pacific oceans.
Rough sharks are small to medium in size, ranging from 49 centimetres (1.61 ft) to 150 centimetres (4.9 ft) in adult body length, depending on species. Their bodies are compressed, giving them a triangular cross-section. They have two large dorsal fins, each with a sharp spine, and with the first fin placed far forward above the head. Even more so than their relatives, the dogfishes, they have rough and prickly skin. Unusually among sharks, they also possess a luminous organ.
Oh dear, Brenda & Nyack, I hope I didn't cause any hard feelings about posting a guess. I felt that having the Sea Shepherd shark finning news and petitions on, I'd better figure out the answer and fast once I could tell that by the appearing letters that it was some sort of shark. That took a good half hour and I still couldn't see that Brenda had guessed. But I will share the honour with Brenda, for sure, as I'm sure she guessed before I did. She's just much nicer than I am and didn't post in fear of annoying everybody. (and I promise to stay away from Hangman for a whole year)
So Congratulations Brenda
btw, Nyack, Thanks for posting:
Tell Costa Rica to Stop Shark Finning
I will put it on my Paul Watson arrest/ Sea Shepherd thread if I get the OK from you so that those who don't play hangman will hopefully see it. I signed immediately.
Congratulations Brenda Signed both petitions and noted all the information Nyack ) ) )
I dont think it created any problems Dianne, Brenda refused to guess! lol
Anyway, we have written petitions to everyone else to stop shark finning, so why not Costa Rica??? I was poking around to see who the president down there was anyway (I had no idea)... and what kind of sharks are in those waters.
I also came across the amount of shark cartilge pills the United States imports from there as a "supposed" cure for cancer... need another petition about THAT, too!!! Its not even approved by the FDA
Tell New York to Stop Importing Shark Fins
BTW, of course you can post it wherever you like Dianne- I hope to get more petitions about Costa Rica soon
