To provide the public with safe, educational and recreational access to the earth's most wonderful mammal, the elephant.

-Meet the Have Trunk Will Travel family.  Our elephants have tons of talent, personality galore, and they pack their own trunks!  The elephants appear in movies and commercials, special events, shows, and at fairs.  We believe that meeting an elephant can help us learn and teaches us to care.

-Have Trunk Will Travel, Inc. is dedicated to the preservation of this endangered species.  We are licensed and inspected by federal, state and local animal welfare agencies, and are involved in national and international conservation efforts such as the International Elephant Foundation, Elephant Managers Association, Association of Zoos and Aquariums and the species Survival Plan.

Thanks Julie- I hate this place, personally and believe elephants belong at sanctuaries- not being used like party rental for fairs and hollywood comercials.

This organization is anything EXCEPT a natural habitat for elephants where they may have natural elephant behavior.

Elephants are exploted for profit, and that awlays trumps what is in the true best interest of the animal.

Tell Oregon Zoo to End its Harmful Elephant Breeding Program

  • Target: Oregon Zoo Director, Kim Smith - Director of Elephant Habitats, Mike Keele
  • Sponsored by: Animal Advocates

A female Asian elephant calf was born Friday, November 30th at the Oregon Zoo in Portland- and she will become the legal property of a private company, Have Trunk Will Travel, of Perris, Calif., which assumes ownership of the newborn within a month. In the wild, mother and daughter live together for life.

Since 2005, the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), has aggressively promoted breeding efforts to counteract declines in captive elephant populations.Zoos are desperate to breed more elephants at any cost, but for every elephant born, on average two others die. Of the 28 elephants born in Oregon, most are dead or were sent to a life of misery in the circus and roadside zoos. As a result, the traveling show is free to breed its elephants and exchange offspring with most U.S. zoos.

The controversial traveling elephant show rents out pachyderms to the entertainment industry, stages circuslike events and offers elephant rides at $500 an hour. The company offers elephant rides at regional fairs and zoos, and at wedding events. The also provide elephants for films. The company uses contoversial chains and bullhooks — long-handled, clawed-end training tools used to discipline elephants and train them to perform tricks.

Baby elephants are beaten and shocked, as shown here, caught on video:

Have Trunk Will Travel Elephant Abuse-

I agree with Nyack.  I do NOT like Have Trunk Will Travel at all.  The people there do NOT truly care about the well being of elephants.

I signed the Traveling Circuses petition October 19, 2012.  And I signed the petition to the Oregon Zoo December 20, 2012.

Thanks Julie and Nyack. Signed Have Trunk in Dec., signed Oregon Zoo just now.

This is so wrong on so many levels. Let these elephants need to live with their families in their own habitat as we all know! We are fighting so hard to stop circus's from having wildlife, and the same should be done with Trunk Will Travel. I will not ignore this place damn it!
