Wow, I've just found my favorite group! hehehe... I only read the first few posts, but gonna come back and read the rest later.
Oh-ma-gawsh, you guys sound so much like me! I love it, lol I thought it was so funny that I kept seeing "chocolate" in so many posts, oh yeah!
I very much resonate with Athena, she's definitely a part of my energy. And although I'm very feminine on the outside (and very hetero), I've always considered myself to have a much stronger masculine energy. But I'm pretty good at drawing from either as needed, sweet girl or warrior woman I've always loved the reference I read in Linda Goodman's book regarding Libra women, "An iron hand in a velvet glove." Nice.
Unfortunately, I can also relate to the problem on making decisions, it makes me crazy, I just don't understand why I hate making them so much! And we're not talking major decisions, any decisions! Heck, when I was 16 and still "green" in the driving department, I was driving around a bunch of friends on a curvy road. Well...I came upon sort of a fork in the road, it was actually a left turn on the left side and a sharp curve on the right. Too much for my brain, lol No time for indecisive Libra to choose, sooo...I went straight! LOL Flew off into a ditch, thankfully nothing major.
Anyway, I also still love being a Libra, we are sensual, romantic, dreamy and luscious, ain't we? lol
I'm new to the group. I've enjoyed reading about what makes y'all happy. Chocolate - well, yeah! And being surrounded by good people. This is a fun group!
Hello fellow Librans
I have found being a Libra is a true balance. I love all beauty, art, poetry. New people and things I approach with caution. I dislike change in my household, or my world. I sure enjoyed all the post, but I like chocolate only a little, but I do love white chocolate not as rich. I love music, dance, and the joy of a romantic interlude.
Going on a great vacation near the ocean where there are beautiful mountains all around it... and the Sun is just right!
I am told i am very feminine ..tho...even if my attire doesnt protray this ...
I love nature esp trees ....i see beauty in every one....i love to read ..i am a very fast reader tho so always asking friends to borrow books...
i prefer fact to fiction ....i love to read biographies ..
My favourite color is purple....i love lilies and carnations....
I am a rather have roses than diamond type of woman lol
for me it's serenity...harmony...being understood...compassion...caring...tenderness and !justice! I like being all things and anything at anytime; not undefinable as a concept just wherever my spirit would have me linger. And I love traveling, meeting new people, experiencing and accidentally encountering people's positivenergy.
LOVE AND HUGS FOR YOU.
The "L" words, LOL, it definitely englobes it. Life, love, learning, liberty, laughter is there something that make me more happy!
Dove, I totally agree with the description you made of Libra women. Although my patron Goddess is Artemis, I always had a strong connexion to Athena. I remember that in my Grade 8 history class, I was decorating my Greek mythology notes with portraits of Athena. I recognize myself greatly in her, since my passions are martial arts and the arts. I love dancing, writing poetry, drawing and music. Athena is both a warrior Goddess and the Goddess of wisdom, the arts and civilization. In some things, I recognize myself as a Libra, in some other things like an Aries. I am very much a blend of both Venus and Mars.
But there is no myth that I love more than the myth of the Amazon Queen Lysippe, founding Queen of Themiskyra. Her story is one of love, courage, leadership, loyalty, wisdom and vision. Of a woman who overcame her grief and inner demons to accomplish what nobody would have thought possible and have given birth to a Nation. According to Greek legends, Lysippe's son, Tanais offended Aphrodite by his love of war and chastity. To punish him, Aphrodite made him fall in love with his mother and unable to deal with this shame, he committed suicide by throwing himself in the river Don( which in Antiquity was named Tanais, according to legends after him). Rather than let her grief break her, Lysippe let her pain go by consolidating her Nation, raising in the Thermodon Valley the Amazon capital Themiskyra and the regional headquarters of Lykastia and Chadesia. She is famed to have invented the first mounted cavalry, raised temples to Artemis and established the laws Amazons live by. It is to my eyes the most empowering story that exists. And one that breaks all stereotypes most people have towards Amazons.
Lysippe was mother of a son, yet became the mother of the Amazon Nation. She was a wise woman, a strategist, a woman of vision who had the courage of her dreams, a leader and a builder, a woman who in tragedy chose life rather than martyrdom. She was just, fair, honorable. A warrior who lived for honor and justice and didn't fought for personal gains nor power but for a better world. Lysippe while she fought wars when needed was a peacemaker. Very much like Athena. She lived by a code of Honor. It is the story that I could hear again and again if if I have children one day will pass on to them. While I strongly identify myself as an Amazon, I do not identify myself to the " Amazon stereotype". Lysippe is the historical Amazon I most identify myself to.
While Libra is associated to Venus, I also associate it to Mars. As in the month following Autumn Equinox, nature is changing, the leaves are falling, plants are dying under frost. A destruction that will bring rebirth. And it is also the hunting season. I always saw myself as Daughter of Ares and Harmony and felt a strong connexion to Artemis and the Amazons. Most Libra women I know are very strong women. The living incarnation of the quote " An iron hand in a velvet glove" Pretty, fashionable, very feminine, lovers of beauty, often fragile looking but very strong and confident, in hardships they are proud and brave, an unbreakable fortress . Like roses, beautiful, feminine but watch for the thorns! They are armed to face hardship and adversity.
I have always wanted to welcome every aspect of the Goddess into my soul, life and hearth, womanhood as a sacred dance of life, strength and love. While I do not correspond to the " Barbie" type of femininity and to stereotypes, I have always been very feminine, in a natural, mysterious way, I am a woman, I am a Goddess and I am proud of who I am.
I'm new here but I thought I would jump right in?
What makes me happy? Anything that makes me laugh or smile: A sweet love song, men in Wranglers, my beautiful son, a silly joke, a funny movie, a phone call from someone who was just thinking of me and wanted to say Hi, flowers, the rain, thunder, sunshine, fog, the wind, the beach, the wide open sky, shooting stars, anything that makes my heart skip a beat and makes me feel lucky to have experienced it. Life and all its miracles, that's what it is all about!
What makes this libra happy is balance in my love life ,in my home, in everything. Even my flowers in my garden must balance out in their colors. I look for love wherever I go and search for the great love of my life. I need a love that will match this goddess of love to balance out my world. Can you imagine being in a Doctors office and seeing a crooked picture on the wall? Most people will pay no attention. But not Libra. She waits untill all people are gone and she is alone. and then she slowly straightens the picture and smiles to herself as she returns to her seat. The world once more is aligned.
