Dear Friends:  Please modify the letter below (if you wish) and send it immediately to Prime Minister of Slovenia Mr. Borut Pahor at:

Urge he and his government to immediately release little lucky to a sanctuary so he can live in peace and dignity! They will kill the bear if we do not intervene! PLEASE HELP SAVE LUCKY! TY! Michelle >^..^<

To the Prime Minister of Slovania, Mr. Borut Pahor:

Concerned citizens the world over are extremely disturbed to hear that an innocent young bear adopted by the Logar Family in Poljanska Valley, Slovenia is being held a prisoner in captivity within an electric shock cage by a veterinary clinic in Muta, Koroska. According to eyewitness reports by the family, this little bear named "Lucky" was forcibly removed  from a loving farm environment and now remains isolated in a cage that shocks the bear with an electric current, which causes him great pain and suffering. The family also maintains that the bear, which was acclimated to human beings and served as no threat to anyone, will be executed rather than placed within the safety of a sanctuary.

Please explain to citizens worldwide why this bear is being victimized in such a way as to place it within a cage that causes it undue stress and agony for no known reason. Please also take the opportunity to explain to concerned individuals all over the world why, despite the desperate pleas of the Logar family to spare his life,  you have chosen to exterminate this bear rather than place it in the loving custody of the Velebit Shelter in Croatia where it can live out its life in safety and dignity.

Slovenia has a reputation for being a "progressive" nation. How "progressive" is it to treat an innocent being in such a harsh and cruel manner? While it may be true that this bear is a wild animal and will get larger and more difficult to manage in time, it has been raised since infancy by a family who cared for it and treated it with love and respect. This bear cannot be returned to the wild, as it will not survive independently. The humane and compassionate approach is to place it in a sanctuary where it can live out it's life in peace.

A truly progressive and compassionate nation would decide in favor of life rather than death for such a creature and act with compassion rather than take the inhumane and aggressive stance your authorities have taken thus far. This bear deserves to live; it is a victim, not an aggressor. Your country has the opportunity to show the world humanity and compassion....both cornerstones of a truly progressive nation.

The world is watching Slovenia. The life of an innocent little bear is in your hands. Prove to the world that yours is a country of nobility and compassion. Illustrate to tourists who wish to visit your nation that you support the wild citizens of Slovenia's native habitat rather than condemn them.

Release Lucky the Bear from the miserable cage in which you have him imprisoned and allow him to enter a sanctuary, where he can thrive. His life has value. He deserves to live.
