Dear Friends: As promised, contacts are below! Please take action! TY!
On Polar the Dog From examiner.com:
"Polar is a deaf American Bulldog who is 'suspected' of being involved in the death of an infant.
No one knows the details as the parents left the child unattended.
'The family wasn't even in the same room, nor are they reachable for comment- they left their house that evening and will not speak to the press. Polar may have been scruffing the baby to move him as she would a puppy. We will never know for sure. This dog has been raised around children, and has never had a prior incident. The baby may have died from positional asphyxiation, and not from something caused by the dog. The dogs deafness is not a likely factor.'
The parents have left town and cannot be reached for comment.
All details surrounding this case are suspect and confusing.
Many advocates around the country have stepped forward to settle the matter and take Polar into official rescue. A law enforcement officer with two deaf dogs has stepped forward to adopt Polar. A pit bull rescue and rehab center will take Polar.
The authorities have refused and have cut off communication.
Please let these same paid authorities know that the nation is watching. This article and fellow animal advocates do not want a dangerous dog released, but do demand the truth and a full investigation.
This same rightful benefit was given to Casey Anthony in the death of her child. Shouldn’t the same rights be given to a family pet held on trumped up and cloudy charges? Please hurry before he is killed perhaps wrongly and based on ill-founded data.
Casey Anthony got a better deal than Polar.
One citizen has tried to get answers and states, 'Your phone calls, faxes, and emails will make a difference, and may SAVE POLARS LIFE! Tell them that blaming the dog for the parents non-protectiveness is unacceptable. Ask them to release Polar alive to rescue or a qualified home.'”

don't know enough details, but it seems he (like every thinking being) deserves a fair chance....even dog's make mistakes and should be given forgiveness...one of my favorite all times dogs bit me when he was scared and hot and hungry...I know he didn't mean it...lets hope that Polar is given a fair chance....what about the adults supposedly watching the infant -- aren't they supposed to also be watching the dog???? As a family doctor every well child check I always ask about pets and remind parents that no animal should be left alone with a child.....ever....
My letter to the Virginia authorities re. Polar the dog. Please send (modify if you wish) and share with others so they can send it too! We must save her!
Sorry. Having trouble with the fonts! The end of the letter should read:
