I remember back before the election when, in a news interview, a young man was talking about health care coverage and made the statement; "Get outta the way grandma, I want mine!", as if seniors were taking something, to which he was entitled, being younger and of more value to the collective.
This just blew me away when I first started hearing things like it. What a scary attitude of entitlement.
It reminds me of Obama advisor Ezekiel Emanuel's "Complete Lives Curve" system that Glenn Beck exposed years ago, where people of certain ages are deemed to be of more value to the collective, while the very young and the very old are not.
It reminded me of something else. This video that I saw years ago, by George Bernard Shaw.
In other words:
"Remember that a government big enough to give you everything you want is also big enough to take away everything you have.” -Barry Goldwater
This is what happens when government grows so much that it consumes
everything, strips away individual rights and owns you, instead of you
owning your own life. You become property for the collective to dispose
of as they please - a mere serf, or subject.
These kinds of statements have seemed even more troubling, with an authoritarian Marxist regime in power now, as we've started hearing more rumblings along those lines. A regime that now considers our Constitution a mere inconvenience, to be gotten around by executive order if necessary.
So then I just came across this article at
The bolding and underlining are mine:
Creating and sustaining a nation of zombies is expensive.
Large sections of the US population have been turned into zombies. Retirees.Medicare dependents. Food stamp recipients. Disabled people. They are not necessarily bad people. They are not necessarily dishonest or lazy. But rather than add to wealth, they consume it. And when you have too many of them, your society consumes more wealth than it produces and you are on the road to The Downside."
Well what are "we" gonna do about "those people" now?
Something needs to be done, right?
Now in my 60's, I highly resent such sentiments. After all, it wasn't exactly my choice to be forced ( pretty much at gunpoint - I had no choice ) to pay into the forced-collectivist Socialist (In)Security system, from the day I started working as a teen, and to have itcontinue throughout my entire working years. And they even moved the bar on me in the process. Back then, I was promised full retirement at age 65. Then they did a bait and switch along the way, and it became 66.
And now these people are propagandizing us in with food stamp recipients and welfare slackers?
We're the walking dead and we just haven't figured it out yet?!
They have more nerve than a bum tooth!
For those of you who aren't Jewish, this pretty much epitomizes the word "chutzpah"!
But this is part of a collectivist agenda now, to start demonizing, like Shaw and Hitler did, those who "aren't pulling their own weight for the collective", even if they are seniors or the disabled - people who paid into their system and now expect to get just a little something back. Well "we" can't have that!
How many of you remember an old science fiction movie called "Logan's Run"?
If you haven't seen it, now might be a good time. It portrayed a world where there were no old people, because when you turned 30 you were zapped. And of course society loses a lot from that kind of thing, but this is the end game of forced-collectivism, when government gets so big and out of control that it starts owning you, and then starts making decisions on your value to the collective, and how to dispose of their "property".
And then it starts cannibalizing certain people.
Another reason I'm glad for my Second Amendment-recognized human rights, and will work hard to stay armed until the day I die.
"You can have peace or freedom, don't count on both at once." - Robert A Heinlein
Obam has created our country to be an entitlement country so there is no wonder as to why the younger generation comes with an entitlement mental attitude! He brainswashes the younger generation into thinking they are the ones who will control the country. They suck it up and swallow the kool aid!!!
Oh I agree Social Security is not an entitlement...what I am saying is Obama creates the atmosphere for the poor and the young and the lazy that they are owed this...which only creates MORE lazy's to secure the entitelement road!! From there on that is where all the problem lies! Welfare, Food Stamps, Unemployment which some use as a means of living rather than TRULY go out and SEARCH for work...why do that if they can BS their way along into making someone believe they REALLY want to find work!?
Also...there are SOME..not all..but some who will do whatever they can to receive SS when they have not paid a damn dime into it! THAT is the part that upsets me! Look at all the illegals in this country!!
I know Carol, I posted an article here at the begining of the week that talks about that, they are using their food stamps card, to buy alcohol, etc.
