And this year they did as well. In Belgium we got a great Aftermath docu about what would happen to the earth, animals, environment, humans .. if the population doubled. I was stunned. And indeed, water became the biggest problem. Or actually water is already a problem.
Hi all, I've done a clean-up on this thread, as I'd like to keep it on the topic of population.
Thanks to everyone for their comments. For people interested in water conservation, I encourage you to join the Water group on Care2, at:
Best wishes to all.
I think that we do not want to walk here again the nazi past. "Eugenic" is a way of the past. Population growth control is about to achieve 0 or negative growth. A couple has 2 or less descendants.
I agree Kit. If there are any rules around numbers of children that people can have, I think the rules should be fair. Eg the same limit for everyone.
I have removed some abusive posts.
If we allow women to choose, they will elect to have a few children that they can take care of properly rather than being ruled by the tyranny of unwanted fertility. Too many have no choice but to have a career of 'feeding & breeding' from an early age- with disasterous results for maternal and child health. World wide we need to make sure that girls get an education and that they have the freedom to choose when, and how many, children they will have.
