The largest Egyptian museum in the Western North America region is the Rosicrucian Egyptian museum. It features an impressive collection from various periods in Egypt's history. Ongoing high-tech research also takes place on some of its artifacts in collaboration with leading firms in the neighboring Silicon Valley area.

The museum is in Rosicrucian Park, San Jose, California. It's part of the Ancient Mystical Order Rosae Crucis (AMORC), aka the Rosicrucian Order, AMORC (not a religion). They have a particular interest in the Pharaoh Amenhotep IV (Akhnaton).

They also conduct ongoing guided group tours to Egypt with Power Places Tours (www.powerplaces.com), focusing on the mystical aspects of Egypt. It was the most memorable overseas trip I've yet taken.
