SOMEONE ASK ABOUT NIKKI,THIS IS FROM NIKKI'S BLOG(IS NIKKI DEAD WE DO NOT KNOW FOR 100%)

Waggin’ Train saves a lot of dogs. All of us in the New York City No Kill and rescuecommunity are grateful for that. I am grateful for that. This isn’t about that – and in theend, it’s not even about them. It is about one dog, an individual, and what we owe thatindividual. There are some who say we should not worry about dogs who have specialneeds while perfectly healthy ones die in shelters nationwide. I do not share that viewbecause as a No Kill advocate, I know that we can and should save them all. So whenan opportunity comes to save a life, when that dog is in front of us, when that animal isin our care, our ethical obligation is to save that life. When the ASPCA planned to kill Oreo, the calls for mercy rang out throughout NewYork City and the world and the outrage continued after her execution. When theyproposed killing dogs in &ldquosychic pain,” the New York rescue community recoiled inhorror and fought to defeat that bill wholeheartedly. Now the arguments for death onceput forth by the ASPCA here in New York are being recycled by the people who oncefought against them, only because they have a personal connection with the group whomade the decision to kill. The real question is if Nikki had an opportunity to be savedand was denied that opportunity. She did and she was.Nikki is Oreo. Only the players have changed. Before being killed, Waggin’ Train was offered, at no cost, a qualified behavioralevaluation by accredited professionals with significant experience with fear-basedbehavior who would be capable of giving Nikki a prognosis for rehabilitation and acorrective plan, as appropriate. They said “No.”They had more than one offer to take Nikki, including a facility they had used before andthis offer was communicated to Waggin’ Train. They said “No.”They had an offer of evaluation for possible admission for Nikki from a qualifiedsanctuary that is also recognized by the New York City shelter system as a fellow “NewHope” rescue, and had that sanctuary accepted Nikki after her evaluation they wouldhave assumed all costs, all liability, and would have provided maximum quality of life. That sanctuary has experience with aggressive dogs, does not believe in socialisolation, and has successfully rehabilitated dogs deemed dangerous by others – andwhere rehabilitation has not been possible, they have given those dogs a lifelong homewhere they have as much social contact as possible from dedicated volunteers and theirprogress is never given up on. They said “No.”None of the options involved would incur them any cost, as a donor had generously

A puppy left to die in freezing temperatures outside a Henderson residence has died.

The Humane Society of Henderson County says it was alerted by neighbors who found the dog under a trailer home Thursday, its mouth frozen shut and its body partially stuck to the ground. Suffering from hypothermia, it was unable to move after being picked up in a blanket and taken to The Animal Hospital in Henderson.

Temperatures had dipped below 20 degrees. It's not known how long the dog had been left without shelter.

The pup, named Miracle, made it through the night after coming indoors and being given sub-q fluids but died Thursday morning.

He had also tested positive for Parvo, a potentially life-threatening illness, and is in isolation.

Donations for what is expected to be a large vet bill are being accepted at the Humane Society (203 Drury Lane, Henderson). You can also donate online through Chipin.com. As of Thursday morning, 228 people had contributed more than $3,800 for the dog's care.
