Its been quite a while since our Creative Cafe started
and have grown together so much until now...
we have 327 friends in our Cafe and I think thats quite an accomplishment!!
My co-hosts and wonderful pals Uno and Ruth have done such a wonderful job and helped maintain this group when I was unable to pay attention due to study pressure and work load....I will always be grateful to you two!! Thanks for being there and for your contribution to this humble group...
I remember when I had just started this group I would send out personal invitations to all my friends and also welcome notes to all new joinees...but later due to several reasons that becoem impossible...
It always was so much fun to interact with so many creative and like minded individuals from different parts of the earth...and always such a pleasure to make new friends...I just hope that this harmony continues forever in our group ...
I would very much like if all our members at Creative Cafe (Old & New) will introduce themselves in this post...just a few words about themselves and their creative works or ideas ...it would be such a pleasure to hear from you all!!!
But maybe everyone else doesn't. My creative interests are more visual and tactile ... I like to play with digital photography, draw (though I haven't done that in a while), and work with beads and wire and leather and embroidery ... whatever happens to catch my fancy at the time.
I love to read all the lovely prose and poetry that's posted here, but reading is what I'm best at with regards to that. Every once in a while, I see one that inspires a visual.
Hey ppl! Well Im Asia, rather an inactive member *blushes* but with this student life it gets so damn busy...First there are tests, then studies, then tests, then lab practicals, then tests Well i am a laidback person usually, love meeting ppl from all ovr the world, its so much fun sharing two different worlds and marvelling at the similarities. I love everything that a normal teenager does! Music, Computers, Friends! I love writing, adventure sports, and just day dreaming! But im a wierd mentally drunk teenager too... when i was born i was bathed in a tub of alcohol (tht wot my mum told me) and since then i have a probation...no hard liquor My bdays on 14th of June, 17 now and lovin it! Though people believe that I am mentally still 4 years of age...how rude! hehe... Well now i shall go hit my books again!! Keep ure sun shining, Asia.

Autumn Bronte here...pretty new to this group but I have been reading the posts for a while. It's always great to connect with artists of all kinds.
I live with a disabling illness but on my good days I write, photograph, teach myself how to paint and collage, plus I enjoy making my own jewellery and working with clay.
When I was six years old my kindergarten teacher reprimanded me for painting the grass purple. I literally put down the paint brush and stopped painting until I turned 32 and started to try again. I'm a very tender artist, just starting out on this journey. It is a dream of mine to one day combine all my interests. For example, I'm making collage pendants using clay, paint, decorative paper and my photography.
Hey to you all! I just joined this group, right after I found out it exists. I guess I'm a bit hippie hearted woman who's always doing "something crazy", as my friends would say... I love to write (novels, poems, manuscripts for theatre and film... you name it, I've tried it) but I also like to do anything creative. When I walk in the city, I might write a spontaneous little poem in the snow, or if there's enough snow, why not a snowman in the middle of the city center...
I wish you all a beautiful day! Let us explore the wonders of life with wide open eyes and hearts...
From the archives of a dying year, I return. I am Uzoma Peter Lane, a relatively new member. I am a fan of writing poetry especially sonnets. I am also known to be kind, helpful and eager to please. I am on a quest to make as any friends as possible, and to write the perfect poem.

Hello, my name is Michael, I have wonderful hobbies of art, computer graphics, 2D, 3D modeling, video editing, composing music on a yamaha DX 7II synthesizer, writing of thoughts, expressing the emotions within me in many, many ways.
My name is Phyllis. I am always doing something that involves my hands; painting, writing( 4 myself mostly), I love to work with clay ( sometimes even in my paintings), beading, cross stich (makes a great texture for paint), and 3-D objects with paper. I do a lot with paint (can you tell?). I once covered a sheet of paper, with my pencil, til it was totally gray /black while listening to "Dream Weaver"; I started to erase little figures(pegasus and unicorn) with planets and stars. I find it to be one of my greatest works. My art teacher didn't understand it. Well if it is different from anything you have ever seen or read I will love it. I thrive on uniqueness.
My name is Mersea and I am an artist. I mainly use prismacolor pencils and some ink, but I am spreading my horizon to learn watercolor. If anyone is interested in seeing my art here is my website: www.aheartofmersea.com. If anyone is interested in buying any cards or prints email me before using Paypal cuz I have to add tax and shipping.
I have just begun to write inspirational poetry and prose in the past few months. Sometimes it seems ok, sometimes not. But that is fine and that is the way it is.
I am happy with me and what I do at any given moment.
I was born in NZ where I lived my 40 years of childhood. I then lived in Australia for 16 years of my teenager/maturing, and I now live on Isle of Man where I am at last beginning to feel free.
My name is Caitlin and I was born and raised in northwestern Michigan. I love writing- especially poetry, although short stories are fun to write too. All of you are talented and I love being here!

Hey there, I'm Susan. Life for me is very busy, but I suppose I keep it that way...some would probably say intentionally . Short stories and poetry, esp. poetry, used to come easy for me as a very young woman, at a time I was incredibly sad and lonely. Now without all the pain, the words don't flow out as easily.
I'm a designer.....primarily interiors....residential and commercial; For fun, I design upscale pet items, clothing or furniture or something I'd like to have!!! I absolutely love it!!! It's not at all where I was headed, but....well, long story .

I'm Louise,
I don't post here very often but I do read and keep up with what's going on with the group. I think we have a very talented bunch here.
Last Mon I started The Artist's Way class and I'm very excited about it. I tried to do the course on my own several years ago and didn't follow through. Now I will have the group support and I can meet more people. I am trying to do as many of the "tasks" in each chapter that I can.
I like all sorts of things. I love textiles but haven't done much with them recently. I love beads and have been making jewelry for a few years. Now I want to branch out and sculpt with wire and add beads to that. I also draw with Prismacolors and pen and ink. Now I want to branch out and begin painting with either acrylics or the new water-soluble oils, though they are very expensive. I haven't painted in thirty years so this is somewhat daunting for me.
I love to write and read poetry. I love all sorts and like to go to the bookstore to read new authors and get new ideas. One of the great things about Creative Cafe is the wonderful poetry.
I'm studying Shamanism and I use that to keep the gates of creativity open and full of visions to paint and write about.
I hope all of you are well and that your creative visions are magnificent.
Love to all, Louise,

in giving this board's members a short intro.
Well, am just a 'speck' among the SANDS of C2. I do manage 2 boards but have a hard time catching up with critical postings due to some back2back commitments since early this year. So, for those who happen to follow my site & also was a member here at Creative "Teahouse" ( I luv Tea too ), i do apologize for the infrequent postings of late.
This "cafe" was probably the 2nd or 3rd board i have browsed since being active in posting msgs here @c2, coz in my opinion, it has one of the best posting rosters of 'kewl' artists + 3 of the best board moderators... telling the truth, i started browsing here due to being intrigue by one of the moderator who signed on my board before i signed-in here.
Carry on the excellent works, PPLs! May your "cosmic" artistries multiply & may the gaiety force be with this board's moderators 4ever!
Hello everyone :] I'm Heike Marie, new member to the Care2 boards as well as this group.
I love to read and write and most of all absorb new information. I'm young and I'm not afraid to admit that I have alot to learn. I'd just like to write it as I learn it and see what happens :]
Hello, everybody,

Hi, another creative junkie to join the ranks... I'm also a tea and coffee junkie, so great named group for me... I write poetry and, when I have time in the middle of school work, throw novel ideas around too. I am also a huge art freak - my sister is far better at the tricky stuff like huge acrylic masterpieces and still lifes, but I have my own style, usually with paper and a pen or pencil, which means I can use it as a way of filling up time in boring lessons! My dream is to one day publish my journals or turn them into an account of life with bipolar II disorder, complete with poetry, quotes and, of course, sketches.

Cool costumes, lots of vampires - the best - and Stuart T looking really fine. I'd love to be able to write something like that - dark, sexy, Gothic, mmmmmmmmm. Like Tom Holland, Anne Rice, Phillip Pullman, all rolled into one uber-amazing vampy novel.

Took me awhile to find you, ..thanks to a new friend I recently made on C2, I found this group listed on her Profile. My fire for creativity flares up from time to time and I have to express myself in a way that will touch others - could be through sight, smell, taste and once in awhile when I'm lucky - through touch. I have many tools surrounding me to help quinch the flame once it flares...everything from beads, polymer clay, acrylics, art papers, pens, pencils, and material to baking supplies, a computer, recipe books, spices, oils and pieces of leather, silk and feathers. I look forward to contributing to this group and to getting to know who ever wants to be known...better! Kathy

I just joined this site and was excited to see a group for artists. I currently paint murals and faux wall finishes. The mediums I work with are pencil, charcoal, acrylic paint and most recently water colors.
I am usually the most creative when I have been inspired by a beautiful landscape. I like the combination of architecture and landscapes captured at dawn or dusk. My favorite periods of art are the Renaissance and Impressionist. The artists I find the most inspiring are Monet, Renoir, John Singer Sargent, Michelangelo, Andrea Del Verrocchio, and watercolorists, Mary Sorrows Hughes and Jeanne Carbonetti. I love monochromatic color schemes and opaque color pallets.
You know..I don't really have any pictures of my work. Some of my favorites pieces are illustrations I did back in high school and most recently in my Color and Design class I took a year ago. I may have a couple of pictures of murals that I did at a friends house. I'll have to dig around.
I just finished painting a nursery for a friend. I did a sky background using a wash effect and then I painted the Sunshine Care Bear standing on a cloud throwing stars in the sky. She is re-living her youth I think...my friend still loves those Care Bears. It was a fun project to do that made a nice baby shower gift.
I just started sketching out a picture that I'm going to shade with Charcoal. The subject has a dark theme which is very unlike me but this drawing is a gift as well. My friend's birthday is coming up soon....ahhh....I need to get going on it. I like this project because it is my own creation vs. an illustration of some else's work. I'll definately take a picture of it and show it to the group.
I know Uno from a few other groups and wanted to visit this one so here I am.
I am a creative noodler, conceptually, verbally, visually. Serious silliness is important to me.

Hello, I am new to this group, although not new to care2... I am a graduate student at university, a local community organizer, a protester, a hippie, and a graffitti artist(on paper nowadays). When I say graffitti, I am speaking of the wall murals, not the chicken scratch that pollutes most american inner-cities. I no longer have anything scanned to the computer, but I will try to get some of my or my friends skecthes scanned on-line to post.
Dear Gayatri,
Thank you for the invite to the group. I read about so many wonderful creative people in the group, it will be a joy to visit the site and read and see art and poetry. I am an artist (Commerical/Graphic) too by profession but I work in a entire different field at present. I paint early 8 - 12th century Madhubani Paintings of India, and I write poetry in Hindi. I have been enjoying people's profile in this group. I feel great to be with this group!

Thank you for the invitation; I joined a few months ago but haven't had the chance to visit lately.
I've done a little bit of everything in art from pencil and charcoal sketching to oils and acrylics. I love watercolor, but only for myself. Pottery clay is another medium I enjoy working with. China decoration was my profession for many years, along with working on tiles, both for murals and for accents. Weaving with hand spun wools is something I'd love to get back too.
Right now my partner and I are working on photo restoration.
Now I'm off to visit the websites of others in this group.

Hi! I'm Amy. I have been a member of Care2 since early last year, but just now joined the groups. I am sorry that it has taken me this long; i ma having such a good time! I've had problems with forums in the past, and it has kept me away longer than it should have. For that, I am sorry I have missed out on what you've all ready done with this group, but I am happy to be a part of it now.
Just a quick question, since this is a group for the creative. Is it okay for me to post part of a book I've been working on here in order to get some feedback? I have been working on it for several months, and all ready submitted it as a post to the group "blood and coffee", but the more opinions I could get on it, the better off I would be. I would really like to get the opinion of some fellow creative people on the work I've been doing, but wanted to check if it was okay to post here.
Please let me know. Thanks!
Amy

Hi everyone. I'm new here.
I'm Kayla.
I enjoy writing, reading, drawing, photography, and music.
I love animals and nature.
I'm currently nothing more than a highschool student with big dreams.
I've been pretty bad about being a part of this little community, but I thought better late than never right? I am currently a student in the Johnston Center for Integrative Studies at the University of Redlands in Southern California. My tentative emphasis deals with the arts and writing in the vein of consciousness through culture and spirituality. Quite a mouthful and I hardly know what that entails myself, but that's what life is for, right? Experiencing, experimenting, and feeling the energy life has to offer.

hi, greetings to the hosts and every one who cares...
I´m new to the group. I like what it is about. I can´t imagine a life without music. I set my own lyrics to music, in English, German and maybe some time in French too. " Not boring." Maybe the result of many years, writing, singing, dansing. Maybe natural too. So, to introduce myelf. I trust above all, I´ll make some friends here.
Hellooooo! everyone, just joined the group.Designing practical art, sculpting,I work with just about any materials from glass, chicken wire, wood, sand, cement well you get the idea. I have built my own barns and out buildings, with the wood I cut from my cedar grove. I fix my car when I can and I love the outdoors.I have a wonderful supportive husband and I am now trying desperately to bring a young Ugandan artist ( Benon see my albums for his Artwork) to Canada to give him a much needed family ( he has been orphaned by Aids since the age of 2) and a chance at a better life.I am in the process of setting up an auction on EBay of a few of his signed works and I will be including all of my works too. My aim is to try to raise about $3,000.00 to get him here. He walks 15km both ways a day, every day to write to me and has done so for two years now. I have become his mom, his friend, his only family. He is a great inspiration for me, we have cooperated on a few pieces via email. The results were amazing we work really well together and now I want him working by my side in my studio. Uganda is in political chaos and war is just around the corner, I must get him out of there before March ( election time), he has already experienced riots, tear gas and hard labor for simply being on the wrong road at the time. As you can see I am very driven about this cause, I fear for his life. If anyone has more ideas to help please don't be shy, I welcome any suggestions.Donna Martin
I'm looking forward to the day when I feel comfortable with that wondeful label, "artist." I enjoy writing and have had a few articles published. I'm just beginning to discover the wonders of painting, have always loved working with color and design...interior design, web design, photography. I also love to organize, which I think can be a highly creative endeavor.
I also have a passion for metaphysics, most especially the Tarot. Please visit my website at www.TarotwithLove.com which I created My first published article is on there, it's called "An Owl, a Crow and a Nudge toward the Tarot." It was a joy writing this account of how I was drawn to use the Tarot, putting two of my particularly potent passions together -- writing and the Tarot. It's now been published 3 or 4 times (including in the Sedona Journal), which is some super nice icing on the cake
Thanks for the post Dove! You sound very interesting. You also sound like you are following your passion which is wonderful and rare.

I have just joined the group and I would like to introduce myself. My name is Luna, I am 21 years old and I live in Mexico. (Tijuana, if you are wondering).
I have just finished my Graphic Design career and I am about to finish my thesis. I love to draw, but mostly to sing. I also enjoy writing. From words that I like, to poems and short stories. I never finish the stories that I write mainly because of a HUMONGOUS writer's block I've been suffering from. I think that is why enjoy writing poems... short, beautiful, and mainly I get to express myself although I long to write something more complicated.
I will stop the babble here, but I really hope to make new friends.
A big hello to everyone. February 04, 2006 7:32 AM

Hello ALL fellow creative group memebers!
My main interests currently include:
1. Activism. (especially environmental and wildlife protection, abolishing nuclear weapons, landmines and the like, and promoting women's & children's health and wellbeing).
2. Art (Creation & Promotion).
3. College / Learning & continuing educational opportunities for self & others.
I joined this group in the hope that I may meet other creative people to learn from, share with, and network with for professional purposes as well in the future for promoting art/artists here in the group and else where, that wish not to be "Starving Artists."
Found this site by way of Acoustic Cafe, where my post was followed by Joe Z's, (whose thoughts and articulation I admired) which led me to his profile, which led me to his groups, which led me here!
I'm a Massage Therapist, and I've decided I'm like a ski bum, except I don't ski...I dream, and post here, would love to sew, am trying not to be a consumer, have a puppy instead of a boyfriend right now, take massive quantities of vitamins, and enjoy looking like a lady of leisure...although I need to be bustin my buns working...

Greetings from Another Creative Star-Being... September 05, 2006 1:33 PM
Greetings all,
I cannot stay long...
I will, however, tell you just a smidgen about me:
I am a Druidic sort with a deep, unapologetic fondness for the music of Jon Anderson/YES and New Age/Dreamtime thought. I have a group dedicated to Jon A/YES, and it's brand new as of last week...if anyone else is familiar with his work, send me a message and I will send you an invite. Even if it is just a group of two, it's better than just one person...
I love this planet so much that I get sick of people trashing the very county road I live on, let alone the air in other states. I therefore desperately want a hybrid car. Ergo, I am here at Care2.
Anyway...I love to write, both prose and music--one of my dreams is to have a kick-butt computer-and-synthesizer system where I can make music beyond VSTi's.
There's lots more about me but my dad's waiting for me, so I'd better go.
Hello! I'm Sheena, a mom to a 15 year old boy/man, owned by numerous loving animals (who let me care for them) lover of music, animals, words, the human mind, spirituality, and all things artsy. Photography, painting, drawing, written word, sculpture, cloth, dance,nature...everything creative and beautiful. My recent fascination is with cooking. I love to make food for people I love, and I really want to learn the art of food so I can make interesting meals that look as good as they taste.
Hi I'm Brandi, mom to an almost 5yr old and Noella an elderly but still playful cat. I love all things to do with art...music, movies, writing, poetry, cooking, baking, drawing, sketching, knitting, needle point and the list goes on... My art time was put on hold when I had my son and now find myself doing more cut and paste, stamping, and fingerpainting or crayoning than anything else but all the same is fun and enjoyable and gives me a sense of calm over my creative needs. Anyway...thought I would join and meet some other interesting creative people out there in the world.

I'm Bart, from Mooresville, NC, and I've been a phototgrapher for 10 years. My forte has been lighthouses, maritime and most recently, still lifes. Although I'm a certified photojournalist after graduating from the New York Institute of Photography in 1999, I enjoy becoming a freelance photographer instead. I can make more money, and at the same time, enjoy more free time. Even though most photographers have gone digital, I'm still using 35mm film cameras, and I don't plan on converting anytime soon.
Just wanted to drop a note and say hello and do a small intro of myself...
I Live in Western NC in a small town and LOVE the mountains!!! I love to do crafts of all kinds from gourds to clay - paper crafts and glass - jewelry - poetry etc etc etc!!!! ANYTHING CREATIVE!!!! I look forward to reading your shared posts!!!!

Hello! I'm Liisa and I have various artistic hobbies. Next to my "real " fulltime job I learned goldsmithing and since then I sometimes make silver or gold jewellery at home. Further activities that followed me through my life: Painting with oil colors, drawing, writing diary-based prosa texts, nature photography on the digital camera, trying out African music instruments, singing with all kinds of music... I have tried different kinds of handicrafts and I admire all people who can create unique works in wood, clay, glass, textile, whatever. I like visiting events and markets where arts and handicrafts are sold, as well as little boutiques with non-mass production articles; to be found for example in Tallinn, Estonia or Stockholm Old Town in Sweden or in Helsinki, Finland where I lived earlier. Greetings, joy and inspiration to you!
