Where are you?

I was excited to find this group at Care2 and then sad to see how little activity there is here. An alternative economics is the key to our ability to live sustainably on this planet - it is probably too late to avoid devastating decimation of the human population by climate change - but survivors will still need to do things differently. Where are you all? Have you gone somewhere else to talk or have you given up in despair?

Hi Helen, thanks for posting.  I agree that economics is key to our ability to live sustainably in the long term.

In the archived discussions, there have been quite a few discussion threads over the past year. Like many other groups on Care2, however, I'd like this to be more active. (I like to keep things running nicely by posting every so often.) One way to achieve this is to get a "critical mass" of active group members, so one good thing to do is invite people.  It is particularly good and effective to invite friends using the "invite friends" button at the group's home page.
I started with a rather open mind on possible economies and measures. My attention for the past few months or year has been CASSE, at , particularly the thinking of people like Herman Daly.  Here on Care2 news items and Causes article, I've been helping to spread the word about economics generally, and its importance to the planet, its environment and conservation.  I've been reading some of CASSE's linked articles at their site and encouraging people to consider signing their position statement.
I think that a key thing is to spread the word, e.g. to encourage and invite friends to get involved.  I encourage everyone here to invite their friends to join this Care2 group!
