I'm afraid dear Holly, the petition won't let me sign as a non-US resident - sorry !

i don't think his free speech right were violated. I suspect a "don't embarrass A&E" clause in his contract was considered violated by A&E.
I agree with Katii. A&E is a private TV company. They have the freedom to react as they wish, even more so if it's against the contract.
thank you Justice for your offering.
According my world outlook I would not like the sobriety of petitions to compromise with wrong data;
please also accept my stance on petitions in general, despite the urgency and significance:
I, for my part prefere sticking to activism, which, sadly has been replaced in the past few years by 'clicktivism', where online people add their names 8their real names ?) for a cause which should be obligatory for the causer to either avoid, prevent or implement (according the question of the petition).
So, we (kindly) ask someone, we even do not really know, to act on our behalf for the benefit of a certain goal, which this person/institution, etc... should do, avoid, prevent anyway.
As petitioners, we degrade ourself to (subordinated) supplicants, begging someone to act what should be done or ... avoid in any case.
In my opinion, it is not wrong to petition but it has become common practise to sit before the machine and make a few clicks here or there in the comfort of a living room and so think we can make a positive change.
Therefore I am always going further, use a petition as a first step, as long as is not a deception as (for instance George Soros is not involved with his 'Open Society' - means AVAAZ petitions or move-on.org) but try to change the cause which lead to a petition at the roots.
This works well if you (for instance) look at the fortune 500 and which corporations they run and what you can do as critical consumers to wither them.
But there are other means as for instance creating awareness, inform friends, family... writing (protest) letters to governments, corporations, NGO's (sadly many of the NGO's support corporations, specially if it comes to environmental issues) and/or organanize information evenings (-events) to create or share a common goal and value.
I'm calling this actionism, it starts with independence of(f) the system, be creative, find ways to get off the grid, out of the matrix, create your own garden, support local food producers, farmers, organic seeds, make your own food, bread, as this is what makes YOU a real threat for the established system...
If the free speech is restricted then encourage yourself for free speech and you will encourage others doing so by your blueprint.
Be the change you want to see in the world and do never expect someone else doing so.
All the system can do is scare you and your family and they are great in scaring people and keep them small and in constant fear, misinform, restrict... as so the system works.
They are creative in constantly finding new regulations and pull through, so be creative find new ways to elude their unconstitunal laws.
This works best in cooperation with likeminded people which you meet everywhere in society if it comes to topics such as Children (education), vaccinations, disease (health) legalization of health products (such as hemp), Free Energy (workshops), self sufficienca (far reaching) and all the abundance of alternative opinion. This is already a movement which is constantly growing but you need to find, connect and contribute your abilities, talents you brought here.
It is a huge difference if you meet likeminded (real) people and discuss the world with them or you have hundreds otr thousands of virtual friends in so many, so called 'social' networks which even say they are created to make a change but serve only as trap for, wait, let's see... hmmm...
23,536,347 members doing good!
(ask yourself why this network was made, WHO BENEFITS ?)
You provide your powers to unbeknown people, you give them your voice which, otherwise would be heard on the streets or food-co-operations or Free Energy Workshops....
You spend your time in networks, think a second, what this means, you and your mind are trapped in a tangled web... right ?
What else could you do with your time ?
(pardon my poor English, I'm also writing in a rush, which someone should not do when addressing other people - appologizes for that) - Parsifal
I agree with you,Parcifal,as far as utilizing real interactions in the community, activism, talking with like minded people who can make a difference...all of the things you mentioned. Also, the arts amoungst other avenues, are a means to get things accomplished.I have even gone to jail for my activism for things that I believe in....which,by the way,we were successful in accomplishing what we set out to do.This site is one of MANY tools to use.Petitions are one of many tools as well.I try to utilize any and all tools.I wish more people thought like you do.
Thank you Holly, thank you very much for being an activist from heart.
farmers market is more revolutionary and constructive
than burning down your own city and killing security forces.
(sadly we are far off topic, appologizes for that)
