Received from Zen: As if it wasn't bad enough that people using IE9 are not able to post in groups at all, nor to send messages, there are now more problems with group posting. The latest - as of today, October 11th, has hit users of Firefox, Chrome and Safari, so now nobody can post properly in groups any more, except IE8 users and even then, only some of them can post without problems. The advanced editor reply box does not load properly, so the toolbar is not showing up and it is impossible to reply except in plain text. That means no images, no links, no fonts and even paragraph spaces are not showing up. Also it is not possible to start new threads in the groups either. If Care2 is trying to get rid of the groups altogether, they are certainly doing a great job - I cannot believe that even those who spent a lot of time changing browsers, after Care2 told them to do so, can now not post properly any more. It's just not good enough, Care2. I have a Share about this, where you can post if you wish, and I'll update with any new information I have. Please forward that Share link widely, as I'm sure that many people will be wondering what is going on when they try to post in groups today. I reported the problem to Care2 Support early this morning, I wonder if I will get a response? New posting problems for Care2 groups - Firefox, Safari, Chrome affected If you need any other help, or want to keep up with current Care2 problems, please post in or read the threads in my help group. http://www.care2.com/c2c/group/Care2helpforall Thanks everyone! keep Wolves protected in Utah!

Subject: Keep Wolves Protected in Utah

Ken Salazar
Secretary of the Interior
U.S. Department of the Interior
1849 C Street, N.W. / Washington DC 20240

Dear Sir,

Wolves were exterminated in Utah nearly a century ago, yet lawmakers are jockeying to establish rules for a "wolf hunt" and to have wolves removed from the Endangered Species List, even though there arent any in Utah, yet.

Utah has large areas suitable as wolf habitat that would not create conflict with livestock owners. Wolves are essential to healthy ecosystems and needed to restore the balance of.

The Federal government already knows that; which is why they were re-introduced in the United States.

Keep protections for wolves in Utah.
Making plans for a wolf hunt, (where no wolves even exist), is a clear bias for special interests groups rather than scientifically sound management and conservation.

Washington Wedge Wolf Pack Targeted For Death
3 years ago

To: tourisminfo@watourismalliance.com

Subject: Washington Wedge Wolf Pack Targeted For Death

To whom it concerns,

Cattle are a non-native species that trample native grasses, pollute
streams and release methane into the atmosphere. Then, when their
short, sad lives are over they?re brutally slaughtered.

Wolves are native to these lands, cattle are not.
There is no reason public land grazing can?t be shut down or severely
cut back if the public gets involved. Grazing cattle on public land is
one of the biggest threats to our predators, specifically wolves.

How many businesses in America have their own private goon squads
ready to do their bidding, like ranchers do, with sharpshooters at
their disposal to kill innocent wolves?
If you don?t like wolves, then round-up your cows and put them in a
secure enclosure ON YOUR LAND with an electric fence. fladry, range
riders and whatever else you have to do to protect your investment.

I won?t be traveling or visiting the state if they destroy this wolf
pack and I?ll spread the word to my friends and family that Washington
state is bowing to the livestock industry.

GET CATTLE OFF PUBLIC LAND AND STOP KILLING WOLVES!!

Sincerely:

Commissioner Tom Landwehr
Phone: 1-651-296-6157

Governor Mark Dayton:
Phone: 1-651-201-3400

Dear Sirs,

Minnesota is a big and beautiful state, a state of 10,000 lakes, located in the Upper Great Lakes region of the United States.
Until recently, Minnesota had a decent reputation for respecting and protecting its natural resources and wildlife, but that appears to be changing.
The perversion and blood lust to kill and torture wolves has infected you both

The state's population of wolves has been stable for most of the past ten years. 3,000 wolves may live in the state, though that number could be much lower due to the fact that government trappers, ranchers and poachers have been killing hundreds of wolves every year.
Also, that estimate is from 2008, so it is out-dated, which is another reason to not have a hunt. The current wolf population is actually unknown.

Wolves in Minnesota have historically been highly respected and much appreciated members of the natural landscape of the state.
Many Minnesotans truly love 'their' wolves. In a survey recently commissioned by the Minnesota Division of Natural Resources (DNR), 80% of respondents expressed an overwhelming majority opinion that the wolves be left alone.
The state's large Native American community is solidly opposed to a wolf hunt.

Why are you, Gov. Dayton and DNR Commissioner Landwehr turning your backs on the overwhelming majority of Minnesotans, including the state's numerous Native Americans, who do not want the state's wolves shot and torture trapped? Because you believe a minority of sport killers and sadistic trappers and the always hysterical ranchers are more important than anyone else, when it comes to the choice of protecting or persecuting wolves.

According to David Mech, PhD, a Minnesota-based wolf expert, the random sport killing of wolves will have no effect on livestock predation, which is already minimal due to effective non-lethal measures and the annual killing of hundreds of wolves by government trappers, ranchers and poachers.

Yet,you are sticking to your latest excuse of allowing the sport killing and torture trapping of wolves, to protect livestock.
This is the same old, unethical political garbage, that serves Wall Street instead of Main Street.

In this case, if the hunt is not stopped, the result will be senseless, cruel and painful death for hundreds and even thousands of Minnesota's beautiful and innocent gray wolves.

I urge you to STOP MINNESOTA'S WOLF HUNT AND MASSACRE.

Sincerely,

Petitionsite

Now that Congress has eliminated federal protections for gray wolves, it will be your responsibility to prevent a second extinction of these animals in the wild.
Please, keep the pressure on! Mail your protest again!Alpha Wolf and pups!

Cattle should not be allowed to graze in the wolf recovery zones of the Gila National Forest and on other public lands in the region. These public lands belong to the American people, not to private ranchers who are being heavily subsidized by American taxpayers to graze their cows where they do not belong.

The fact that the US Forest Service, and other federal agencies, allow cows to wander for miles and graze in endangered wolf recovery zones is a ridiculous recipe for disaster and a regular excuse for continuous removal and killing of endangered wolves! To scapegoat and imprison this female wolf mom, because of human stupidity on the part of the US Fish & Wildlife Service, the US Forest Service and the irresponsible ranchers, is unbelievably unjust and cruel. As more Americans and wildlife lovers from around the world, including school children, learn of the plight of this alpha wolf mom and her four pups and the extremely heartless, stupid and unjust policies behind this situation, the pressure to keep this mom wild and free and with her pups will only grow and grow.

The US wildlife officials listed below, along with President Obama, must hear from YOU and be pressured immediately to keep this mother wolf alive and free and in the wild with her pups. These officials must be pressured now to defend and protect all the endangered Mexican gray wolves in their designated wolf recovery zone. They must be urged to withdraw the grazing permits that allow cattle to wander for miles in wolf habitat.

The plight of this innocent and beautiful wolf and her four pups is a rallying cry for justice and respect for America's wolves everywhere!

NOW THAT YOU HAVE THE FACTS, PLEASE EMAIL (and call) THESE NATIONAL OFFICIALS:
and firmly but politely demand that they keep this mother wolf wild and free, with her pups, her mate and family pack. Instead, it is the cattle that need to be moved out of this wolf recovery zone!

This is URGENT!
There is a female alpha wolf, the mother of four young pups, in the Gila National Forest of New Mexico, that is right now being hunted for capture and removal to a life in captivity. She will lose her freedom and life with her family. Her pups will lose their mother. This kind of trauma can lead to the death and destruction of the pups and their seven member wolf pack.

The Gila National Forest is part of a Mexican gray wolf recovery zone. The Mexican gray wolf is a distinct genetic group of wolves that had lived in Mexico and the Southwest United States for thousands of years. Hundreds of years of persectution and massacre eliminated them from their homeland in Mexico and the US. United States wildlife officials acting on behalf of the American people who demanded recovery and protection of the nation's native wildlife, including America's wolves, re-introduced captive Mexican gray wolves back into their homeland in the late 1990's. These endangered wolves have not been well protected, from wolf-hating poachers and hostile ranchers. Currently there are fewer than sixty of these wolves in New Mexico and Arizona.

This mother wolf is accused of predating on four cows, a tiny number, over a fourteen month period for which the ranchers have been fully compensated! The ranchers in the area suffer far more cattle loss from cattle thieves, from weather, disease and from their cows eating poison plants. Last week, the mother wolf was ordered to be killed by the US Fish & Wildlife Service but a public outcry led to the order to capture her instead. Her Fox Mountain Pack, consisting of this alpha female, her alpha male mate, their four pups and a year old wolf, are part of only six breeding pairs in all of New Mexico and Arizona. To remove her from the wild would be traumatic, unjust and devastating to wolf recovery in the Southwest.

Cattle should not be allowed to graze in the wolf recovery zones of the Gila National Forest and on other public lands in the region. These public lands belong to the American people, not to private ranchers who are being heavily subsidized by American taxpayers to graze their cows where they do not belong.

President Obama and other national leaders, includng US Representatives and US Senators in New Mexico must be pressured immediately to keep this mother wolf alive and free and in the wild with her pups. These political leaders must be pressured now to defend and protect all the endangered Mexican gray wolves in their designated wolf recovery zone. These leaders must be urged to withdraw the grazing permits that allow cattle to wander for miles in wolf habitat. Allowing this inappopriate cattle grazing to continue is a recipe for continued conflict and killing of endangered wolves.

NOW THAT YOU HAVE THE FACTS, PLEASE CALL THESE NATIONAL LEADERS:
and firmly but politely demand that they keep this mother wolf wild and free, with her pups, her mate and family pack. Instead, it is the cattle that need to move out of this wolf recovery zone!

BREAKING: Open season on wolves in Wyoming? Please sign!

The killing has been relentless.

Last year since Congress delisted wolves in Idaho and handed their lives over to State officials, more than 400 wolves have been killed.

Now the tragedy that swept over Idaho wolves is set to come to Wyoming at the end of this month - unless you and I stop it.

The future of wolves in the Northern Rockies is in your hands.

Tell the Obama White House: we've seen what happened in Idaho. Don't allow Wyoming's wolves to suffer the same fate - or worse.

The restoration of wolves has been hailed as one of the biggest successes of the Endangered Species Act (ESA) since it was passed in 1973. Unfortunately, last year marked the first time in history that Congress removed a species from the endangered species list, removing all Federal protection for wolves in Idaho, Montana and parts of other states. The consequences in Idaho were swift and bloody, and years of progress vanished along with hundreds of wolves.

Now the Federal Government is on the verge of eliminating protections for wolves in Wyoming, and handing the future of these majestic creatures over to another state that's bent on killing as many wolves as the Obama Administration will allow.

Urge the Obama White House not to turn back the clock on almost 40 years of Federal wolf protection in Wyoming.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is expected to announce it will strike wolves from the Threatened Species List in Wyoming at the end of August, paving the way for an all-out open season on the wolves of Wyoming.

That means we have only a short window of time to act. If we fail, if Wyoming officials get their way, wolves will have no protections throughout most of the state. In these areas, no hunting license will be required: wolves will be killed on sight, for any reason or no reason at all.

Wolves' lives are at stake. Help send 100,000 signatures to the White House starting today!

Over the next 3 weeks, we're putting everything we've got into urging the Obama White House to step in and prevent the reckless killing of Wyoming's wolves. It's up to you and me to ensure that our children's children will have the chance to cherish these noble creatures like we do today.

Thank you for speaking out for wildlife.

Jamie Rappaport Clark

Dear Sirs,

A wolf is a highly intelligent and social sentient being. The amount of torture that trapped wolves are subjected to is immeasurable.
Trapping is cruel, barbaric and uncalled for. Such inhumane methods are archaic ways to manage wildlife and should not be included in wolf management programs.
Traps are a slow, torturous death, for wolfs, and any other unsuspecting animal that may happen upon them.

Yet, despite massive public input in defense of wolves, the Montana state Fish, Wildlife and Parks Department (FWP) just added them to their long list of species that can be “lawfully” targeted by trappers.
Ignoring record-breaking outcry, the FWP Commissioners have approved their wildlife agency’s extreme “bag limit” of two wolves tortured to death per trapper, in addition to the ones they’re already allowed to hunt.
What this means is that each individual “sportsman” can legally kill THREE wolves – two by trapping and one by shooting.

Anyone who has seen the harrowing ordeal suffered by an animal caught in a leg-hold trap would be appalled and outraged that trapping is still legal in states like Montana.
But trappers have no qualms about the cruelty they inflict. Just ask the vice president of the Montana Trappers Association:
“We trappers do cause pain and suffering to animals and apologize to no one.”
Guys like this must have an over-inflated sense of entitlement to publically blurt out something this shallow, narcissistic and utterly absent of regret.

I ask Montana to ban the practice of killing wolves by trapping.

Sincerely,
