How Deep Does Google Go With Obama?

Why do you suppose Google chairman Eric Schmidt declined to join Obama’s  administration as Treasury secretary? Or Commerce secretary? Or the newly  invented “secretary of business” czar … er, Cabinet post?

Might it have something to do with the fact that Google  avoided about $2 billion in worldwide income taxes in 2011 by moving nearly  $10 billion in revenue into a shell company?

Probably not. Cheating on taxes doesn’t bother FOB (“Friends of Obama&rdquo. Why, just ask  current Treasury Secretary Tim “Turbo Tax” Geithner.

Or perhaps it’s just as Schmidt claimed: He doesn’t want to work for the  federal government. Let’s face it, Schmidt has been able to accomplish quite a  bit on the outside. Why ruin a good thing?

According to a report published  in The Telegraph, “Mr Schmidt played in a key role in the re-election of  President Barack Obama last month, helping to oversee Google’s $700,000 donation  to his campaign.”

Or $1.9 million, depending  on who you’re quoting.

President Obama and Google’s Eric Schmidt have had a close relationship since  at least 2007. Rumor has it, the  pair enjoy tech talk over an occasional dinner followed by the pair’s other  favorite pastime, a friendly game of “I  Spy.”

Whether you believe him or not, Julian Assange of Wikileaks says Google and  Facebook “are cooperating with the shadowy forces behind mass surveillance.”

“And then you also have Google and Facebook, who started up predominantly  serving the public, but also have developed side projects to service the U.S.  intelligence complex,” Assange  said in an interview with Russia Today.

“And individuals are constantly pushing their thoughts into Google as each  thing that they want to research; it is pushed via emails, and on Facebook,  through their social relationships. That’s an undreamt of spy database,” Assange  said. “Facebook is completely undreamt of even by the worst spying nation, given  the richness and sophistication of relationships expressed.”

Anyone for a game of three-dimensional realpolitik  chess?

If this is true then Obama and the democrats have a gigantic, massive advantage of exploitation of voters.

I am not surprised that they are in collusion and this kind of arrangement puts them into serious power positions.  The GOP will be light years behind them in data collection as they do not have this insider gain of the system.

This is  very serious and am I surprised, NO because it all goes together in a totaltarian society.   It is best to say nothing now, esp. on facebook ... isn't care2 aligned with FB?

Assange: Google, Facebook run 'side projects' for US spooks

  • Labels Facebook 'undreamt of even by the worst'

WikiMartyr-in-waiting Julian Assange has emitted another screed in which he shares his belief that democracy is being dangerously undermined by government monitoring of the internet, and that Facebook and Google are helping those efforts.

Chatting with RT, Assange has outlined his belief that nations now conduct surveillance on a massive scale, because “it is cheaper to intercept every individual rather that it is to pick particular people to spy upon.”

French company AMESYS' 'EAGLE' product is nations' weapon of choice, Assange said, going on to add a quote from Bill Binney, whom he describes as a National Security Agency whistleblower, to the effect that nations now posses “turnkey totalitarianism”. Assange himself says “all the infrastructure has been built for absolute totalitarianism.”

Assange then says Google and Facebook are co-operating with the shadowy forces behind mass surveillance.

“And then you also have Google and Facebook, who started up predominantly serving the public, but also have developed side projects to service the US intelligence complex,” Assange says in the interview. “And individuals are constantly pushing their thoughts into Google as each thing that they want to research; it is pushed via emails, and on Facebook, through their social relationships. That's an undreamt of spy database.

“Facebook is completely undreamt of even by the worst spying nation, given the richness and sophistication of relationships expressed.”

There's plenty more in the same vein in the video below, but precious little evidence, if you're willing to endure about 13 minutes of Assange in full flight.

I got above article by clicking onto Diane's original post under Assange's interview in Russia.

The entire interview is on this site above in the link.

This is very unsettling and it is the beginning of our loss of personal freedom and liberties.

We are walking into a totaltarian society now and many are totally unaware.

How many foolishly spell out their entire lives, personal information on these social media sites?  How totally stupid and gullible the majority can be as they fall right into this trap.

Information is used to control and manipulate behaviors; but many would say I am way out there on the right wing fringe.
