If America Is So Bad, Why Stay?

by Mychal Massie

A fact in retail is that there ultimately comes a time when you are unable to satisfy a customer who insists on being irrational and/or unwilling to accept what is being done for them or what is being offered to them.  When you have exhausted all efforts to accommodate said customer, you apologize and politely offer that it is apparent that despite your best efforts you are unable to satisfy them.  And you suggest that perhaps their interests would be best served elsewhere.

Two articles I wrote about this past week caused me to consider the aforementioned.  The first piece was titled, “Black Athletes Not Taught To Put Education First.” (See: <http://mychal-
> )

The second piece I wrote was titled, “Why Is Santa White? Who Cares? (See: <> )  They were written in response to an article by Ann Killion and Nanette Asimov who opined the poor graduation rates of black athletes at Cal Berkeley. (Cal Graduation Rates Divided Along Racial Lines; 11/26/13)  The other was in response to Curtis Sails III, teacher from Milwaukee (whom I would call a raconteur lacking in both wit and skill). Sails wrote one of the most specious pieces of betise I have read since “Christianity, Islam, and the Negro Race” written by Edward Wilmont Blydon in 1887.  In that epic piece of flawed supposition Blydon argued Islam was better for Africans than Christianity.

Which brings me to the question; what else can be done to satisfy angry black militants and those who claim continued dissatisfaction and contempt for the America you and I love?

Many blacks felt they were owed special dispensation because of slavery and Jim Crow, and whites on both sides of the aisle agreed with them.  Even though Democrats fought against it, Lyndon Johnson, owing to the indefatigable efforts of Republican Everett Dirksen and his fellow Senate Republicans, signed the Civil Rights Act of 1964.  And it was President Nixon who ushered in race-based affirmative action.  Blacks were given special entrance to universities and colleges based on skin color and quotas.  This was later concealed under the cloak of diversity, but, in reality, it was still skin color and quotas.  Employers were forced under penalty of law to have the correct color-coded balance in the work place.  And that extended to management positions.  Standards were lowered to ensure those blacks who were not qualified would be employed and promoted.

Penitence has made been made for slavery and Jim Crow.  But, not unlike the retail customer who refuses to be satisfied, I believe there comes a time when we must give those who refuse to be satisfied the option of going elsewhere.  Yes, I’m saying what you think I am saying.  If, despite, America’s best efforts, blacks argue they are not treated fairly, that they are not given the same opportunity to succeed that whites are, if bad decisions that result in bad outcomes are the fault of white society, why stay here?

If blacks are so mistreated; If the realities of life that beset people of every description are more onerous because of white people here in America, why stay?

According to Sails, it is an act of contemptuous disdain for blacks that leads to a white Santa Claus and a white Jesus.  According to people like Sails, white people are happy that blacks aren’t living long enough to “grow old.”  Jeremiah Wright uses God’s name in vain as he condemns America.  Louis Farrakhan, Wright, and even Obama have stated that America brought terrorism on herself because of her mistreatment of peoples of color.  There’s Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, the New Black Panther Party, and the media who are the preeminent expositors of the unfair treatment of blacks.  There’s no way to get around it.  Literally not a day goes by that blacks in America do not complain that they are mistreated and denied because of the color of their skin.

If that is truly the case, why do they stay here?  Why not leave and go where they will be happy?  Why not leave and go to a country where “true” opportunity exists?  A place where they are taken care of and provided for better than they are in America?

It’s a conundrum to me as to why a group of people — who supposedly, are daily as mistreated and persecuted as blacks are in America — would want to stay here.  Let them leave, and let them take liberals, socialists, and the Obamas with them.  Because it’s obvious that America cannot satisfy any of them.

Let them go to Liberia.  Maybe they can do more with it than Marcus Garvey was able to.  But by all means, let them leave here, so that We the People who love America and what she represents can live in harmony enjoying the traditions that made her the envy of the world.

But alas they won’t do that.  They’ll stay here and spread immiseration and complaint because, in truth, they understand there is no other nation that will work as hard as America has to accommodate their malcontent.

I would so like to give this to Barack and Michelle Obama and suggest to them a few truths.  1)  If you hate the US so much, would it not make more sense to leave and go somewhere that you prefer?  2) Would it not make more sense and be more reasonable if you favor socialism or Marxist-Socialism to go to a Country that already has this in place and enjoy yourselves?  3) Why do you think you have the right to change the US form of government to suit your personal design and deny the majority the right to maintain what is best for the majority?

Wonder what answers I would get.

As a community organizer and a student of Saul Alinsky and the Cloward Piven Strategy it would seem appropriate for Barack and Michelle to take their family to a middle eastern country after 2016.   They deserve to live the life middle easterners live where women are treated like the dogs chained to a tree in the back yards and their daughters aren't allowed to be educated.    This is where Obama needs to reside.    He is anti American and Michelle...well, all of you know I shouldn't get started on her.....she is the biggest racist in our country IMO.

You just got my answer, girlfriend!   LOL!

I'm on my husband's computer as mine crashed but will up and running (new computer) on I'm typing away.   The Ipad is wonderful but I'm not use to using two fingers to type so I apologize to all of our members for being absentee over the past three weeks in terms of participation.

I wish all of our hard core liberals...Obama supporters....would pack up their belongings and go and live in Europe for two or three years.  Let them find a job and experience "sticker shock" when they are taxed at 55% of their that everyone in that country can have "free  healthcare."    I want that to happen to liberals.    They need to know what that feels like.

Diane, thank you.  I would love all of this, too.  I am so tired of those that feel the US is so bad; leave, it is fine with me.  We don't need negative complainers, we need people willing to do their part to get this Country back on it's feet.  We do not need the "me, me, me" any more.

You are right, let them go somewhere else and find out just what that is like; what all these socialized programs are going to really cost them and what it really is like; they will want to come back.

It is frustrating to know that this country gives more freedom and opportunities to everyone and those whose ancestors were so poorly treated (and they were - the black and Japanese, Native Americans and others) have been given an opportunity above others so they could better themselves.  Indeed many have, but with the entitlement programs we have produced generations of those willing to sit around complaining that they have not been given enough.  It is these individuals who have been cheated by the government through lousy schools and the entitlement mentality to the point that they don't know how to achieve and often turn to crime.

For the others that have achieved education and good jobs such as our president and staff they fail the fellow Americans by continuing to offer entitlements.  They "play" them for votes.  They are more of a disgrace to our nation than the takers.  They do know better, but are out for themselves.  They are just lowly users and takers.  Yes, Diane it is these people that I wish would have to live elsewhere and permanantly.  They don't deserve our country or at least what it was intended to be.  Oddly enough there are many whites included in that count such as Pelosi and Reid.

Society has a lot of repairing to do and it must begin with education and elected representatives that will put us back on the right path of the Constitution.  Hopefully through them citizens will begin to understand how they have been duped and healing can begin.

Margaret, I have not heard of Japanese that sit around on entitlement programs; all that I know have got good jobs and work hard for what they have; they do not believe in hand outs.

I don't think we can limit it to Blacks and Native Americans, etc. as there are a large number of caucasians that are entitlement recipients and have been for generations and love to sit around and complain. I think that it is something that crosses all ethnic groups.  If you listen to children in high school right now you will hear a lot of comments about how the US "stickes their nose in where it doesn't belong in other countries and what makes the U.S. so great a place to live", etc.  This is what they are hearing for caucasian, educated teachers.  Thus we are raising the next generation of entitlement people;chldren that have not experienced it but are being taught it is their right.

You are correct, Linda.  I was only including them among those whose ancestors had been treated poorly.  And yes, there were many, thousands of caucasians that were discrimeted against especially when they immigrated here such as the Irish and Germans, etc.

I agree the school system is what has created the entitlement mentality along with collective thinking based on emotions rather than facts.  Few know the history of this country or any other.
