Times of Change
Change is the act, process, or result of altering or modifying. For Kingdom-minded believers, times of change are important since God often orchestrates change to move us forward. In such times, our part in this divine intervention is to cooperate with the Spirit of God, resolving we will change and not stay the same. When the Lord directs “change” the last thing we want to do isremain in the same place spiritually, geographically, etc.
The Bible teaches there are levels of change; we are led by the Lord from one level to the next higher level. Every level is important, as is God’s timing in the process. His timing, for example, leads me to honestly assess 1) where I really am, 2) how long I’ve been here, and 3) whether to maintain my attitude of patience with where I am or to yield to being stirred for something new . . . for change.
In Colossians 1 the word “reconcile” means, totallychange. Sometimes we are to leave behind something good, even God-things, because the Lord is replacing those with His updated, present will for us. In doing so He adds new and different things, removes some old things, and moves us forward; the Holy Spirit guides and helps us through any hard or painful areas and gives us fresh revelation that He is orchestrating all of it for good.
- Prayerfully tell the Lord you recognize His Hand on your life
- and thank Him that the changes laid before you are for good . . .
- to develop and grow your life with spiritual depth,
- and move you forward in His plan.
