BLUE WHALES;

Mankind has been a moron for quite a while when it comes to the Earth’s resources and it’s pending ecological balance, so many topics could be covered and pointed out concerning the criterion of abuse implemented that will, undoubtedly, be our undoing. But, of all the factors that continue to be ignored, I wish to highlight[somewhat in passing], one of those factors now = the blue whale.
Of all the great cetaceans, the blue whale is the largest and, because of mankind’s incessant and insatiable appetite for what he sees as progress and desire to stamp his mark of ‘highest intelligence’ on every living thing, they could also become very rare, another of mankind’s ‘victories’ of extinction upon another species of life.
What we all have forgotten oh so easily is, everything on this disease-ridden planet was and is created for a reason and taking that into account, everything is necessary to ensure the survival of all life therein. We have seen a major increase in ‘greenhouse gases’ that are destroying the ozone, that which protects all life from ultra violet and microwave rays of the sun. this is also because of the depletion of rainforest spreading at an alarming rate and we, yes we, are responsible. We ourselves will not survive if these forests all vanish like so many other species of life that were birthed of our planet Earth. And frighteningly, there are more dangers of such things having occurred in the last hundred years than in the last ten thousand [est.].
The blue whale once numbered 100.000+. Their numbers now teeter at just 1% of that figure. Like all life on Earth, they are a huge part of the eco-balance that keeps all life on Earth onsong. So what happens if this particular species dies out, becomes extinct? I don’t know. The leaders of the scientific lobby would hazard a guess no doubt but I would imagine it will have an impact and a noticeable one at that. Mankind sees the power resources of the planet as his own because of the crass attitude of ‘we’re intelligent, moreso that any of the planet’s life forms’. They, we, are not! We are but tenants, sharing in this multi species, multi cultural, multi life apartment block, sharing a bathroom and we [mankind] are the neighbours from hell!
The time has come to begin repaying Mother Earth and her sister Nature for their unstinting tolerance of us. It’s time to put back what we have been taking all this time, for free. It will be a struggle, so much has happened, so much is going to happen but we are all in that educated position of being able to plant the seed and hopefully have the world follow.
In Patagonia, a whale nursery is said to have been developed [by the whales] but this area is in danger of pollution, and so, the whales be put in great danger, causing catastrophic damage to the whales. A company aims to build a smelting plant for aluminium there and would release 1.5 million tons of solid and gaseous waste each year into the waterways and forests of Chilean Patagonia. The materials would be transported in by ship so increase the danger for what is a pristine coastal habitat for whales, dolphins and many other marine species with extra and heavier traffic. Obviously I am concerned about all the other creatures but wanted to highlight the blue whale at this time, more especially as a petition is in progress with many organisations involved, to add voice to the proposal to halt the creation of this smelter. Click this link which will take you to the petition site where you can sign and add a comment if you so wish.
Tell Noranda not to build a smelter in Chilean Patagonia.

Your signature will be a step albeit a very small step but one in the right direction. The louder the voice, the better the argument and more chance of being listened to.
The politicians sit in their ivory towers, lauding with their ignorance. Power is all they care about. Material values are what they seek and they are sacrosanct to them. The pound, the dollar, the euro, the rand, nothing else tugs their chain. People dying, starving; endless wars for pathetic reasons, one god, two gods, someone else’s god. What does it matter who your god is! The most important factor is that the balance of our living is in our hands, WE are responsible for our existence and we can make a difference!
We, Mankind, are so involved in our own little worlds, creating laws to put everyone down. Creating laws to help the aggressor and forget the victims. So many petty arguments and that attitude of moaning because someone else decided they didn’t like something you said therefore you are castigated for it, but, what we all forget, this world, this planet, this life belongs to all of us, forget stupid and useless arguments, whether it be a stretch of land, a waterway, a religious icon, a word or two, what does it matter?

Mankind is cruel and fashion conscious. The Japanese kill and eat whales. That wouldn’t be too bad if the numbers weren’t so low, tho’ I do not condone it, they should stop the practice immediately. Whales are important to people worldwide, not just because of my comments about eco-balance but because they are intelligent creatures, we just haven’t worked out their language yet but they’d have some tales to tell.
In Honduras, there is a crocodile farm whose sole reason seems to be to rear croc’s and then kill them and ship them off to become a fashion accessory; Handbags! Is this right? Of course not and we are supposed to be civilised….
You can make a difference….
I urge you all to stand up and be counted, not just for the blue whale and their new unspoilt habitat, their survival IS important for OUR survival or crocodiles that are fattened up only to become handbags, but for everything in the world, society, nature, EVERYTHING!!
Make a difference, ask for life, realise that it’s YOUR life in jeopardy; and the future, your children’s future….
One of the most beautiful and intelligent creatures ever to grace this planet of ours, is in real danger of extinction, make a difference, make your voice heard, don’t be just another statistic, take this first step and sign up for Patagonia’s blue whale population, then pass this message on to your friends and neighbours and have them pass it on to heir friends and neighbours, everyone should be taking the first step and making a difference, do it before it’s too late. If the blue whales vanish from our world, how far behind will we be, following those trailing flukes?
Thank you for reading this, hope it’s made a difference…
