Tell the EPA to protect beachgoers from pollution and disease 1:11 AM
Please go to the NRDC and take action on this issue and other issues at their site: http://www.nrdcaction.org/action/index.asp?step=2&item=53696
Beachwater pollution causes millions of Americans to get sick every year, yet the EPA has delayed implementing new standards for testing beachwater quality. Urge the EPA to speed up its work on these important public health standards. . Take Action: Support Fair Trade!
There are few regions more crucial to long-term environmental conservation than the Rain Forests of South America. Even as the Responsible Trade Program works in coordination with environmental groups to create a Fair Trade Policy that promotes conservation and sustainable economic development, the Bush Administration is attempting to pass through a trade agreement (modeled after NAFTA) that will open up the Amazon Rainforests of Peru to foreign developers. Don't let this happen.
Urge your representative to vote no to Peru FTA and yes to Fair Trade! http://whistler.sierraclub.org/action/actionindex.jsp
