Dear Elaine Al Meqdad,
Did you get a chance to watch the sonogram video Martin sent around recently?
If you haven't, I hope you will take just a moment to watch it by clicking here.
If you have seen it already, could you spread the word by forwarding this email to your friends and family.
Every view will help build support for the Ultrasound Informed Consent Act, a bill that would help avert abortion by requiring sonograms before all abortions.

A corner case: a woman who has been raped should not have to live through a nightmare of what the rapist put in her. There is no "softening of the heart" in such a case. Making a woman relive the nightmare of her rape is cruel.
By a similar logic, a woman who is medically threatened should not be looking at images to second guess the medical diagnosis. The doctor knows that her life is threatened and should act.
I am undecided about ultrasound for "normal" abortions. I have not really thought about the issue. It might cut both ways: it might prove in some cases that there's nothing consequential about getting rid of what's in there. I really haven't decided when a human child actually exists.
