Rush Limbaugh

I seen the Man Whore opened his moth a little to far insulting the woman. I really hope she has a law suit against him. Rush has gone too far with alot of issues where most people hate him. I wonder if he speaks to his wife that way......? Seth, Bring on the petitions dude.

What a discusting piece of Sh-t he is!

This is very interesting, too.

The Kochs don't necessarily have to pay Limbaugh directly, but they are mutually dependent in that Rush might as well be kissing their asses for giving him the platforms he supports, and everyone who actually believes his rants inevitably is supporting them as there is little, if any, deviance between Limbaugh's messages and the Koch brothers' devious intentions.

Here is one petition

Here's one petition, so far:

"Once again, our grassroots donors stepped up when we needed them most, and we made our February FEC goal. We have the resources we need for another few weeks of taking the fight straight to the GOP’s doorstep.

And today Rush Limbaugh gave us a vile reminder of why this fight is so important. The GOP’s top megaphone viciously attacked law student and women’s health advocate Sandra Fluke on air.

First he called her a “%#&!*%” and a &ldquorostitute.” Then added, “So Miss Fluke, and the rest of you Feminazis, here’s the deal. If we are going to pay for your contraceptives ... We want something for it. We want you to post the videos online so we can all watch.”

What did Sandra Fluke do to invoke this wrath? Simply suggested during a Democratic congressional hearing that insurance should cover contraception. Which it should.

This is misogyny, plain and simple. And it must be called out. Will you sign our petition and stand with us against these vile attacks?

Click here to sign our petition. Denounce GOP mouthpiece Rush Limbaugh’s vile attacks on Sandra Fluke and all women.

Personal attacks on a student – and all women – simply can’t be ignored. Stand with us, and denounce Rush Limbaugh’s vile attacks. Send Republicans the message that we’re not going to sit by and take it.

Sincerely,

Guy Cecil
DSCC Executive Director"

Hopefully more to come from other organizations.

Here's another:

"Rush Limbaugh thinks women who use birth control are %#&!*%.

For the last two days on his radio show he's been attacking a Georgetown University student, Sandra Fluke. Ms. Fluke was originally supposed to testify before a House Committee on birth control but the Republican Chairman of the Committee, Darrell Issa (R-CA) refused to let her.

Leader Pelosi organized a special hearing for her last week, so that she could tell her story. Her testimony was brave and personal--she spoke of a friend who needed birth control for medical reasons but could not get it through their Catholic university. Her friend lost her ovary as a result.1

Rush Limbaugh responded to that testimony by aggressively and viciously calling her a %#&!*% (among other horrible names) on his nationally syndicated radio show. And yesterday he doubled down--saying that Ms. Fluke and her college friends should have to post videos of themselves having sex if insurance companies have to cover birth control. (You can read his full comments below.)2

So, today we're joining with allies at RH Reality Check to call on a Rush advertiser--ProFlowers--to cut ties with the show. ProFlowers is a company that caters mostly to women, and they're already feeling the heat on this (see below). Can you help turn up the pressure and tell ProFlowers that hateful invective attacking women is unacceptable and they must cut ties with Rush Limbaugh immediately? No show should be rewarded with advertising dollars for attacking women. Click here to sign the petition:

http://act.weareultraviolet.org/go/59?akid=39.19325.OdSi44&t=3

Last night, ProFlowers responded to the growing controversy about their relationship with Rush with a statement saying they would "talk to" Rush Limbaugh's producers about the feedback they've received.3

That's clearly not enough--calling young women %#&!*% and demanding they post sex tapes because they spoke out on an important women's health issue is outrageous, offensive and hateful.

One Rush advertiser, Sleep Train Mattresses, has already dropped the show over his comments.4

Ms. Fluke has handled all the hateful rhetoric with tremendous grace, telling reporters that, "This language is an attack on all women, and has been used throughout history to silence our voices."5

But we need to band together and fight back this right-wing all out war on women. Rush isn’t just talking about Georgetown students. He’s talking about all of us.

On his show, Rush also offered to buy Ms. Fluke and all of her friends aspirin to put between their knees, a remark intended to mean they should keep their legs shut. And here are his exact comments from the last few days.6

"What does it say about the college co-ed Sandra Fluke, who goes before a congressional committee and essentially says that she must be paid to have sex, what does that make her? It makes her a %#&!*%, right? It makes her a prostitute. She wants to be paid to have sex. She’s having so much sex she can’t afford the contraception. She wants you and me and the taxpayers to pay her to have sex. What does that make us? We’re the pimps."

"So Miss Fluke, and the rest of you Feminazis, here’s the deal. If we are going to pay for your contraceptives, and thus pay for you to have sex. We want something for it. We want you to post the videos online so we can all watch."

ProFlowers is feeling the pressure and if enough of us speak out we can push them over the edge.  No show should be rewarded with advertising dollars for attacking women.

Our call is growing--but we need your voice with us. Please sign today.

I knew there'd be petitions for this, and sure enough, here's another one:

"Join us in standing with Sandra Fluke, who is being attacked by Rush Limbaugh because she dared to testify in Congress about birth control access. Limbaugh called Fluke a "%#&!*%" and a "prostitute." This is unacceptable.

When Limbaugh attacked Sandra, he also demeaned the 99% of women who use contraceptives in their lifetimes – regardless of religion. We will not be silenced nor shamed.

Stand with Sandra and demand coverage of contraceptives without co-pays or deductibles for most women under the Affordable Care Act's preventive care package. This coverage would apply to women who work at universities, hospitals, or social service agencies – regardless of any institutional religious affiliation.

Sandra Fluke was initially barred from testifying for birth control access at a so-called "religious liberty" hearing and later testified at a Democratic hearing. We believe that Speaker Boehner and the Congressional Republican leadership must hold real hearings and that they must allow women to testify concerning accessibility to contraceptives for birth control and other medical needs such as ovarian cysts or endometriosis. The Republican Congressional leadership must also condemn Limbaugh's outrageous comments, as the Democrats have already done.

The Catholic bishops, the right-wing leadership in Congress, and especially Rush Limbaugh have no right to control women's access to birth control. We are counting down to see how long it will take to stop the outrageous attacks on contraceptive availability and the concurrent assault on women's rights and dignity.

Please sign the pledge. It's time to stand with Sandra and demand access to birth control.

Thank you Seth which I gladly signed. I also ask FCC to band Rush from the airwaves not that it will do any good but lets hope so. To me he has broken every law in the FCC rules.

Yet another:

"Under the guise of defending "religious freedom," Rush Limbaugh is using vile rhetoric to degrade women who use birth control.

After a young law student, Sandra Fluke, bravely testified on Capitol Hill about how contraceptive services can save women's lives, Limbaugh responded by calling her a "%#&!*%" and a "prostitute" and suggested that she and her friends should be required to post sex videos on the internet.1

Dating website eHarmony was founded by a Christian theologian and has a long history of catering to Christian singles -- but their ads have recently been airing on Limbaugh's show. With other advertisers beginning to pull out, it's time for eHarmony to drop their ads immediately and permanently.

Click here to sign the petition and tell eHarmony that people of faith don't want them advertising on Rush Limbaugh!

eHarmony says they didn't intentionally buy ads on Limbaugh's show and they're still looking into how it happened. But they haven't committed to stopping the ads, so they need to hear overwhelmingly from people of faith -- one of their key customer demographics -- that advertising on Rush Limbaugh is morally unacceptable.

Friend --

Rush Limbaugh is reading this e-mail.

Yesterday, while Rush was launching his latest vile attack on women who dare to speak up for our reproductive rights, he mentioned my e-mail to you on Wednesday night. I’ll spare you the details on his latest misogynistic rant, but it’s clear that he thinks he can shame us into silence.

Shockingly, the only ones silent about Rush’s hateful tirade are Congressional Republicans like GOP Leader Eric Cantor. Let’s call them out:

Help us reach 250,000 signatures today on our petition demanding Eric Cantor and House Republicans denounce Rush’s heinous attacks on women >>

Republicans in Congress thought they could silence us by refusing to let Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke testify on their all-male panel on birth control coverage. They were wrong.

Your grassroots response is already making headlines from ABC News to the Huffington Post. As Sandra put it yesterday:

"The millions of American women who have and will continue to speak out in support of women's health care and access to contraception prove that we will not be silenced."

Don’t let Republicans in Congress get away with a "no comment" on Rush’s outrageous smears. Either they’re okay with his vile attacks on women or they’re not.

I think I hit the jackpot with a few more:

From Left Action:

"(Nearly 20,000! Note: Due to the overwhelming response to this petition, many visitors to the site are experiencing slowness with the loading of the form in the right-hand column. We've temporarily hidden the list of signer messages, which seems to have sped things up)

Send a message to Rush Limbaugh's advertisers:  Tell them it's time to stop supporting his anti-woman hate speech.

Even by Rush Limbaugh's own standards, his attacks on Sandra Fluke were outrageous.

Last week, the House of Representatives held a hearing on access to contraception that included no women. Chairman Daryl Issa denied a Georgetown law student, Sandra Fluke, permission to speak on the absurd grounds that the hearing was about religious freedom, not birth control. After Democrats held their own hearing in which Fluke gave passionate, thoughtful testimony about a friend who lost an ovary because she couldn't afford the birth control pills that would have reduced her ovarian cysts, Rush Limbaugh apparently felt the need to weigh in and decided to do so in the shameful, loathsome way that only Rush could. As I could never improve upon the words themselves for a distillation of the soul of Rush Limbaugh, here they are:

"What does that make her (Fluke)? It makes her a %#&!*%, right? It makes her a prostitute," he said. "She wants to be paid to have sex. She's having so much sex she can't afford the contraception."  (source: Krystal Ball, Huffington Post)

And he didn't stop there:

Not satisfied with simple slander and name-calling, Limbaugh then doubled down on his attacks on Fluke and actually demanded that she post sex tapes online: "So Miss Fluke, and the rest of you Feminazis, here's the deal. If we are going to pay for your contraceptives, and thus pay for you to have sex. We want something for it. We want you post the videos online so we can all watch."  (source: Krystal Ball, Huffington Post)

Enough is enough.  It is time for Rush Limbaugh's sponsors to stop supporting his hate speech through their advertising dollars.

Sign the petition today, and send them a message.  And make sure to spread the word.  "Share" this on Facebook, and use the hashtag "#BoycottRush" on Twitter.

Here is a list of the companies we believe to be Rush's advertisers. (Note, things are happening very quickly, so we cannot guarantee right now that these are all current advertisers). We will update these as they react to the "Boycott Rush" movement, or confirm they are no longer supporting him.

  • AutoZone (UPDATE: They appear to have dropped Rush!)

From CREDO:

"Tell Limbaugh's advertisers: Stop supporting sexist attacks on women.

When Sandra Fluke, a Georgetown Law School student, testified before Congress to protest rightwing attacks to limit women's access to birth control, Rush Limbaugh called her a "%#&!*%" and a "prostitute."

Here's what Limbaugh actually said:

"What does that make her? It makes her a %#&!*%, right? It makes her a prostitute... She wants to be paid to have sex. She's having so much sex she can't afford the contraception."1

Unfortunately, what Rush Limbaugh says matters. He has a bigger audience than any other commercial radio host in the country, and what he talks about on air has the power to drive the Republican agenda -- an agenda that is already obsessed with radical backslides of womens' ability to protect their own health.2

Tell Rush Limbaugh's advertisers: Stop Supporting Rush Limbaugh's attacks on women.

Sandra Fluke testimony before Congress included important points about why access to affordable birth control is so crucial, including the story of a friend who had lost an ovary because she couldn't afford the birth control needed to manage her ovarian cysts.

Rush's unforgivable translation of that was "%#&!*%" and "prostitute." Sandra Fluke rightly has called Rush Limbaugh's comments "an attack on all women."3 We agree.

Every American enjoys the right to free speech, but that doesn't mean that advertisers who are accountable to their customers should pay people like Rush Limbaugh who make such appallingly hateful and sexist comments.

Already the mattress retailer Sleep Train has pulled its advertisements, explaining in a Tweet: "We are pulling our ads with Rush Limbaugh and appreciate the community's feedback." 4

Rush's other advertisers need to hear from us loud and clear -- if you advertise on Rush Limbaugh, you are supporting his reprehensible attacks on women.

Tell Rush Limbaugh's advertisers: Stop Supporting Rush Limbaugh's attacks on women

In the fight against the Susan G. Komen Foundation we proved that when women and the men who support them fight back against those who would restrict women's access to healthcare, we can win. And MSNBC's recent firing of commentator Pat Buchanan after a campaign protesting his white supremacist rhetoric shows that there will be consequences when certain lines are crossed.

Rush Limbaugh has a long history of hateful rhetoric. But with his comments this week, Rush Limbaugh has crossed the line at a moment when women, and the men who believe in equal rights for women, are more organized than ever and are ready to fight back.

Tell Rush Limbaugh's advertisers: Stop Supporting Rush Limbaugh's attacks on women.

We will not let the rightwing take away women's access to birth control. We will not let Republicans brand women who assert their right to health care as "%#&!*%" and "prostitutes."

Thank you for joining CREDO in taking action to stop the escalating attacks on women and hold Rush Limbaugh and the Republican message machine accountable.

"What does it say about the college co-ed Susan Fluke [sic] who goes before a congressional committee and essentially says that she must be paid to have sex -- what does that make her? It makes her a %#&!*%, right? It makes her a prostitute."

-- Rush Limbaugh

We are absolutely repulsed right now.

Sandra Fluke, the courageous Georgetown Law student who had the strength to stand up in Congress against Republican attacks on birth control coverage, is now under attack from the right wing.  In fact, Rush even attacked her again the next day (click below to listen, and hit "refresh" if you don't see the player):

http://mediamatters.org/mmtv/201203010013

First, House Republicans refused to let Sandra testify. Now, they think they can shame us into silence. We must send the strongest message possible that we will not stand for the Republican War on Women.

Sign our petition right now telling Republicans to publically denounce Rush Limbaugh's cruel tirade against women

Standing up for women's health care does not make you a "%#&!*%" or a "prostitute."

Rush and the right-wing Republicans in Congress who promote their radical War on Women must be held accountable for this.

I love having to type something a second time when Care2 hiccups and doesn't save what I already tried to submit, but here goes again:

I have read elsewhere some comments that if Limbaugh, et. al. are so adamant that Fluke and her friends should post videos to show that they're using the contraception, then the fat bastard and all others who share his opinion should also make videos to show that they're using their Viagra, not because anyone would ever want to see that but because it would be fair play.

It's amazing that as authoritative, intelligent, and knowledgeable as these idiots portray themselves to be, they seem to be completely ignorant that birth control pills not only prevent conception, but they can also be used to treat hormally influenced medical conditions, such as the cyst that Fluke's friend had, and because of the resulting preventive value, studies have shown that the prevention of pregnancies and illnesses that can be accomplished through using these medications could actually save money spent on healthcare, to the tune of about a 4:1 return on investment.

In other words, as hung up as these dimwits seem to be getting about all their religious crap, they're completely missing the opportunity to cut government spending, even if only a little bit.

Here's yet another from Saturday afternoon, and even though it preceded the "apology", it'll continue to be relevant throughout this fight:

"So here's the latest in the GOP's attack on women's health:

Rush Limbaugh is now leading the charge, waging a series of ugly attacks on a Georgetown law student named Sandra Fluke, who bravely testified in Congress to protect a woman's access to contraception and preventive care.

His response? He called her a "%#&!*%" who "wants to be paid to have sex," adding, "she's having so much sex, she can't afford the contraception." He neglected to mention that Sandra was testifying about her friend who was denied birth control she needed in order to stop ovarian cysts from growing.

Displaying a stunning lack of leadership, Mitt Romney wouldn't denounce Rush's point of view, saying, "I'll just say this, which is, it's not the language I would have used."

Our President -- on the other hand -- called Sandra yesterday to thank her for speaking out for women.

As Democrats, we rally around and support the people who put themselves on the line for the things we believe in. Right now, we need to stand with Sandra.

Add your name in support of Sandra -- and everyone fighting to protect women's health.

The attacks coming from the GOP on women's health are way over the line -- and very dangerous.

Mitt Romney has come out in support of the "personhood" amendment, which would have outlawed some forms of birth control and even in-vitro fertilization. Rick Santorum declared contraception is "harmful to women." It's happening at the state level, too, like the bill Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell is about to sign into law that will force women considering abortions to have ultrasounds, and require doctors to ask them if they'd like a picture.

If we don't speak out, it'll continue.

We didn't fight as hard as we did for health care reform just to have key progress for women repealed by GOP politicians, like the Blunt-Rubio amendment would have done. And we didn't fight as hard as we did for women's rights just to have radio "entertainers" like Rush Limbaugh viciously attack women who stand up for the care they need.

Rush Limbaugh said Sandra's parents should be ashamed of her. President Obama told Sandra that her parents should be proud.

We're proud, too, because she's fighting for all of us.

Stand with Sandra and everyone else who's fighting for women's health today:

I wonder why Limbaugh even bothered to offer that pathetic apology. It just doesn't seem to be his style.

Is he in trouble with Clearwire - or did losing those sponsors do it - or maybe his wife took away his Viagra?

Rhetorical questions that we may never know the answer too.

Kathy, - Obviously Limbaugh is just a pathetic shell of a human being who is totally about making money. He has shut off his heart and hence can say anything regardless of who it hurts, or how badly. And, he caters to a very blind, gulible, hateful, audience who wants to believe the BS and gets all fired up over the crap that spews out of his mouth.

This being said, I suspect loosing all these sponsors is what brought about the false apology in hopes he could save his financial butt to at least some degree. Certainly, there is no sincerety in his apology and it's only another part of his freak show. What a pathetic disgrace of a "human" being, one without any humanity what-so-ever.

He reminds me of that pathetic shell Sarah Palin, who also incites hatred for the sake of her making millions of dollars. It's a very sad state of things that people actually pay good money to hear the crap that these two spew.

Just got two more "canned" responses from ProFlowers and this was my response to them:

To whom it concerns,

If you have no conscience or morals and if the views of who you support with your advertising dollars make no difference to you, maybe you want to advertise on Al Queda propaganda networks or even worse, if Hitler was around you could use your dollars to support his sick and hateful ways.

I can't even believe you would admit that you couldn't care less what kind of harm your advertising dollars do! This is the epitome of irresponsibility and truly makes you a very, very, disgraceful company in my view.

I don't want to wish harm on anyone, but suspect it won't be long till you realize just how many thousands of people you have royally pissed off, and who absolutely won't buy your products or service any more. On this one petition alone, there were over 90,000 people who signed it and promised to boycott ProFlowers.

Just think, if on an average these 90,000 people only bought one order from you each year, how much money you just threw away due to your inability to see what you're doing to your company! Or, is it that in your own sick way you truly support disrespecting women and hateful, insulting, rants towards others? Can you really be this stupid not to understand how powerful negative publicity and boycotts can be???

Hoping you get a clue as to what you're doing,

Green Stars to everyone and a happy Sunday....!

Some day, Care2 needs to make some of us more active members power users that can give more than one Green Star per week to people. It's almost not right to limit it when people do more than one worthy thing in a week.

Keep up the fight, everyone!

His advertisers are leaving him in droves. Maybe soon, he might finally realize what a miserable and hateful person he is and the repercussions of his actions.

I wouldn't get your hopes up about Rush being very self-reflective and having any regrets for his years of spewing hate. If he is taken completely down, I suspect he will blame we vile progressives for denying him his right of free speech. I have zero faith in him.

Thanks for all the persistence and tenacity this Occupy group has shown on this issue. Yesterday, I think I went through a whole page of e-mails....mostly about Rush. And it is working! Yes!

Good job Eddie! ProFlowers have pulled their advertising!

Cowards and Apologies That Aren't

John Cory, Reader Supported News

04 March 12

Reader Supported News | Perspective

http://readersupportednews.org/images/stories/alphabet/rsn-S.jpgaturday afternoon, the Huffington Post front page had a big orange headline that blared: "RUSH CAVES." A photo of Limbaugh was centered underneath the headline, and below Limbaugh's picture was a bright red caption: "I Sincerely Apologize to Ms. Fluke."

But Limbaugh's apology was not an apology; it was a lecture and a rationalization of the vile, mean-spirited invective that is his trademark.

I don't know why or what influenced Limbaugh to issue this statement. I can only speculate that the heat from sponsors, and perhaps from some GOP insiders, came to bear.

Look closely at his statement. The first paragraph is three sentences about his wrong choice of words and analogy of the situation and how "I did not mean a personal attack on Ms. Fluke."

That is a lie. Three days of personal attacks on Ms. Fluke was no accident.

The second and longest paragraph of Limbaugh's statement is a garbage-based lecture on morality, and the continued twisting of the issue into the phony theme of taxpayer-funded sex and some gibberish about sneakers. Even as he extols personal responsibility and accountability he plays dodge ball with his own accountability.

Please.

The last paragraph is two sentences ending with an apology for "the insulting word choices."

Where is your accountability and responsibility, Limbaugh? Nowhere does Limbaugh come close to uttering a true apology. He seems incapable of saying outright: "Ms. Fluke, what I said was not only wrong, it was reprehensible and evil and I apologize to you."

Just got home and it's great to hear the good news about ProFlowers. I wonder how much damage they did to their company before they finally woke up to do the right thing??? Thanks Kathy for sharing.

This is good news and I hope more follows. Even if Rush Limbaugh apologizes, you can't believe him or trust him cause the damage has been done as his mouth over loaded his brain in disrespect towards women. I'm sure he will be making the man of the year as a who stuck his foot in his mouth.Happy Monday everyone. Busy day today for me.

Who cares if he apologizes.  My ahole brother-in-law mirrored his comment just yesterday.  Where are the hungry attorneys...they should take this on pro bono.

I feel we have all worked together here, as a wonderful, powerful, and very productive team. We have willingly spent our precious time and effort to get the word out, sign the petitions, voice our perspective on things, and demand justice in the face of horrific disrespect, hatred, arrogance and stupidity.

It doesn’t get any worse than Rush Limbaugh and we valiantly stood up to him and knocked him to his knees where it hurts, financially. He obviously is quite heartless, and only cares about money, so this is where the battle needed to be staged.

And, we staged it there in a very thorough manner, and the results are incredible. We’re talking about big money, big business, and massive support towards Limbaugh that has been going on for many years. We completely disrupted that and helped get many, many, thousands of people to wake up, stand up for respect and justice, and demand the financial supporters of Limbaugh pull their support away and distance themselves from him. Even one of the dumbest of supporters, ProFlowers, finally woke up and caved to the pressure we were putting on them. We need to do the same with AOL and anyone else who hasn’t gotten the message yet.

Anyway, we did great here, and it truly feels good. And, while enjoying our success, we can use this positive experience to continually remind ourselves of the power of the people, when we face all the ignorance, stupidity, corruption and greed that is still so prevalent within our society and the world in general.

Let’s keep choosing our battles wisely, uniting behind justice, respect, and fairness, and wake up the opposition and force them to change their ways to something that’s much more healthy for our beautiful world and the precious people who live here.

Much, deep appreciation and praise to all who united behind this extremely worthy cause. Sincerely, Eddie

Here's another one to keep up the pressure on the Lush's advertisers:

"Big news: ProFlowers announced yesterday that they are immediately suspending advertising on Limbaugh's show--now nine companies have abandoned the Rush Limbaugh show since Friday.1

This wouldn't have been possible without the action of UltraViolet members like you--together over 95,000 of us signed a petition telling ProFlowers and other advertisers that Rush Limbaugh should not be rewarded with ad dollars for attacking women on his show.

Now it's time to turn up the pressure on the remaining advertisers. This may well be a tipping point moment--even conservatives are starting to come out against Rush.2Can you sign this petition telling all remaining Rush advertisers--companies like Life Lock--that they must stop advertising on the Rush Limbaugh show? Attacking women on the air is unacceptable and these advertisers must get the message loud and clear.

On Saturday, Rush Limbaugh issued a weak statement where he attempted to clarify his comments--but his statement just made things worse and clearly showed he wasn't sorry at all. In fact the bulk of the statement was Limbaugh defending his rants against Ms. Fluke.3

Even conservatives aren't buying it: Senator John McCain (R-AZ), presidential candidate Ron Paul (R-TX) and former Bush speechwriter, David Frum, have said it was insincere, not enough or required further condemnation.4

And it's no wonder they aren't buying it. This was not an off-handed comment he made. Rush Limbaugh attacked and slandered Sandra Fluke with hateful words like "%#&!*%" and "prostitute" and graphically referred to her sex life 53 separate times between Wednesday and Friday.5 Further, Limbaugh has a long history of hateful and misogynistic statements aimed at women.6

Rush Limbaugh officially crossed the line in one of the most offensive and indeed, creepy ways imaginable. Now there needs to be real accountability for his actions.

That's why companies like Sleep Number, The Sleep Train, Quicken Loans, Legal Zoom, Citrix, Carbonite, AOL, Tax Resolution and ProFlowers did the right thing by dropping their ad dollars.7 But most of those companies have only suspended their advertising buys on the show. So, we need to keep the pressure up.

The Huffington Post published a list of advertisers on Saturday. Taking out the companies that dropped since the story was published, it would appear that Life Quotes, Inc. and Life Lock are left.

We'll deliver your signatures to the companies within 24 hours and make sure the press, who are all over this story, know how many of us are demanding that these companies stop advertising on Rush's show.

Together we've been able to make some real progress towards accountability for abusive language aimed at women, and if we keep up the pressure we can make clear once and for all that Americans will not tolerate it. Please sign today.

Let's keep the pressure up until Limbaugh melts into the shadows somewhere, never to be heard from again, at least on a National/Public platform.

Here's something that just came in:

please send an email to Armed Forces Network, asking them to support servicewomen and women veterans and stop airing Rush Limbaugh's radio program.

In addition to the eleven sponsors that have withdrawn their advertising from Rush Limbaugh's radio program, now a group of female veterans are calling on Armed Forces Network to drop Rush Limbaugh from its programming. Here is an excerpt from the letter they sent to the network:

Rush Limbaugh has a freedom of speech and can say what he wants, but in light of his horribly misogynistic comments, American Forces Radio should no longer give him a platform. Our entire military depends on troops respecting each other – women and men. There simply can be no place on military airwaves for sentiments that would undermine that respect. When many of our female troops use birth control, for Limbaugh to say they are “%#&!*%” and &ldquorostitutes” is beyond the pale. It isn’t just disrespectful to our women serving our country, but it’s language that goes against everything that makes our military work.

Support servicewomen and women veterans by joining their call: send an email to Armed Forces Network, asking them to stop airing Rush Limbaugh's radio program.

Keep fighting,

Gladly Signed....! Thank you Eddie....! I don't think Rush Limbaugh wants to face a military woman on the side walk, parking garage or resturant after his sly remark toward women.

Jon, the post I just made said eleven sponsors dumped the hate monger, so we're doing better and better all the time. But, many only suspended their support, implying that they could reinstate it as soon as the heat cools off. It's up to us to NOT let that happen!

Thank you Eddie. I agree 100% and then some

He just doesn’t give up.  He’s changed his tune, but if anything it proves his ‘apology’ wasn’t - Limpball continues his attack.

…”While Limbaugh tempered his tone slightly, refraining from the most belligerent name calling he initially engaged in, he nonetheless went after Fluke personally, questioning her motives by portraying her as a deceitful and radical activist trying to undermine religion.

Limbaugh did some research into Fluke’s life and cast doubt on Fluke’s testimony before Congress, insinuating — without presenting any reason why — that Fluke’s testimony was fabricated. In this new narrative, first advanced by conservative blogs, Fluke is perhaps not a %#&!*%, but instead the pawn of a radical leftist conspiracy to infiltrate Georgetown to force the school to provide birth control coverage to students…”

What a hateful, arrogant, incredibly stupid, selfish, idiot!

I don't feel bad saying it, and it probably makes me a rotten person for doing so, but I hope Rush gets aggressive rectal and penile cancer soon and dies painfully. The only redeeming thing he can ever do on this planet is to fertilize it.

This thing (I can't even call him a man) is basically raping Sandra Fluke in public. What he's done is nothing less than a sexual assault without the physical contact.

I can't say I'd wish much better for Michelle Malkin, either, since she's one of the idiots now trying to paint Fluke as some sort of a plant and a fraud.

One of Festering Rash's comments particularly disturbs me:

"We still don’t know who any of these friends of hers are, these other women, and we don’t know what happened to them."

I'm not sure if he's aware of it, but he has no right to know this, and no one else does, without the permission of the affected women because if a federal law known as HIPAA, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.

In other words, to press the issue and try to out someone to associate them with a medical condition that affected them would actually violate their federal rights to privacy.

As long as he's continuing to be a horrible scumbag, the petitions will just keep on coming:

"After calling law student Sandra Fluke a “%#&!*%” and &ldquorostitute,” Republican Grand Poobah Rush Limbaugh is feeling it where it hurts. The national outcry has forced at least nine major national advertisers to drop his show. You are responsible for that.

In an effort to staunch the ad revenue bleeding, today Limbaugh “apologized” – by blaming you.

“In fighting [liberals] on this issue last week, I became like them. Against my own instincts… I descended to their level when I used those two words to describe Sandra Fluke.”

Really, Rush? It’s our fault that you called a young woman hateful names and demanded that she post sex videos online for your enjoyment? How pathetic – and entirely typical.

Click here to add your name. Demand that Republican leaders denounce Limbaugh’s hateful rhetoric. It’s way past time for them to shut down their party’s spiritual and intellectual leader.

Limbaugh has nobody to blame but himself. It’s time that Republican leaders demand that he truly apologizes to Sandra Fluke – and America.

Seth, - While I totally appreciate all your endless efforts to address this issue, which hopefully will help lead to getting Limbaugh off the air for good, I truly hate to hear that you are hoping anyone develops cancer and dies painfully. To me, this is lowering our selves to his level, one that is totally hateful, despicable, and beyond anything I would ever want to come close to becoming. That being said, I hope your comment was just an impulsive outcome at the moment and that there’s no sincerity behind such a comment. Hatred only breeds more hatred.

Also, think of this. Limbaugh may be one of our best team mates. I know, you say WHAT??? Well, while listening to NPR today a Republican was on there who was talking about how much harm Limbaugh is doing to the Republican Party. This woman explained that Rush has caused many women to distance themselves from the Republican Party. He’s evidently driving many of the women away from him, AND, the Republican Party.

So, while his actions are totally beyond anything a “human” being would express, he is doing all of us a major favor if he tilts the scale whereas the Greedy Obstructionist can’t possibly get the Presidency, and hopefully they will lose the House somehow this November as well. If that happens, partly because of Limbaugh’s incredible STUPIDITY, ARROGANCE, and SELFISHNESS, we will all owe this complete idiot a major thanks.

Of course, he’s too arrogant and stupid to see what he’s actually doing, but he may well be handing over the election to the Democrats. A part of me would love to see him stay on the air driving more and more caring, sane, people away from the Party of Hate, the Greedy Obstructionist Party, via his obnoxious, hateful, rants! On one hand, I’d love to shout, YOU GO RUSH, DRIVE MORE AND MORE WOMEN and OTHERS AWAY FROM THE PARTY OF HATE.

I appreciate your comment, Eddie, and yes, it was semi-impulsive, mostly because, as I said, what we have seen transpire is very close to a public rape of Fluke by Limbaugh.

I agree that my choice of words was harsh, but considering Limbaugh's history and the sum of his actions, and even the fact that his words have the potential to incite violence, if they haven't already, if there is a such thing as karma, I'd hate for a good person to befall such a malady and Limbaugh to remain the disgusting, threatening, horrible thing that he is somehow allowed to be.

The fact that this situation got as ugly as it did, and that even with his advertisers dropping, he has only barely mellowed his tone, and his network has allowed him to remain in his position can only evoke a hope for severe repercussions to befall him; I honestly don't think he's even capable of learning his lesson any other way.

I think we should be allowed to hate him anyway, too, without it putting us on his level. I don't equate hate based on generalizations, assumptions, or distortions with that which can be justified by a person's true character being evil.

There's no question that his hate for her has no basis beyond what's in his own mind, and unfortunately, there have been a number of people who actually do support him in this.

It's not wrong to hate him for all this because he's earned that sentiment.

P.S.:

Here's another one:

"Amazing! Hours after our first wave of emails began hitting the inboxes of ProFlowers.com, the company suspended advertisements with Rush Limbaugh. Now, the day after we switched our focus to AOL, they too have announced they will “suspend”* funding for Limbaugh’s vitriol, as consumers all across the country and dozens of groups stand up for women.

The momentum is all on our side, but there are still a few major national companies standing by Rush.

Demand that all remaining advertisers like Allstate and Lifelock stop financing Rush Limbaugh’s vitriol.

Thanks, Kaytee, Claiborne, and the rest of us

PS - Share this image via Facebook to show the momentum against Rush!

*Like many of you, we’re a little worried about this word “suspend” -- some of these companies are probably waiting to see how the whole drama plays out and may be planning to reinstate their ads in a few weeks. That’s not acceptable, but the most important thing we can do right now is get as many companies as possible off Rush’s advertising slate -- and then we’ll deal with anyone who dares to come back when the time comes."

Sign the petition now to all remaining advertisers: Dump Rush.

CREDO Action | more than a network, a movement.

Tell Limbaugh's advertisers to stop supporting his unforgivable attacks on women.

Dear Friend,

Since we started our campaign on Friday, at least nine major advertisers have pulled their support from the Rush Limbaugh Show,2 the most popular commercial radio show in the country and a key piece of the rightwing message machine. The backlash has been so great that even after doubling down in defense of his reprehensible comments, Limbaugh was forced to issue a rare — and totally insufficient — apology stating "my choice of words was not the best."3

Rush Limbaugh is clearly feeling the pressure of our activism. But his so-called apology isn't nearly enough. After his long history of being supported by advertisers while making offensive and irresponsible statements, he shouldn't get yet another chance. This should be the last straw.

He still retains advertisers who continue to fund his misogynistic rants. We need your help to build on our momentum and deal Republicans a major setback in their war against women.

Tell Rush Limbaugh's advertisers: Stop Supporting Rush Limbaugh's attacks on women. Click here to sign the petition.

Here's a petition asking Clear Channel to drop Limbaugh:

"Rush Limbaugh's radio show is a part of the Clear Channel lineup. Let's send a message to them that no longer can they allow Rush Limbaugh the opportunity to spew hateful and sometimes derogatory comments. Sign the petition and help get this done.

That's why I signed a petition to Communications / Media Relations: and Communications/Media Relations, which says:

"Sandra Fluke, a law student at Georgetown University who was advocating for health insurance plans to cover the cost of contraception, became the target of a series of attacks by Limbaugh. Besides calling her a "%#&!*%," he also called her a "prostitute," said that he wanted her to make sex tapes and post them online, and speculated that she only had a problem paying for contraception because she was having "so much sex."

We who support Ms. Fluke, find that this is a serious offense enacted by Mr. Limbaugh and we ask that his radio show be terminated."

Action alert: Urge Sponsors of Limbaugh's to pull their adds

UPDATE (3/5/12 6:15 PM): Twelve sponsors have now withdrawn their ads from Limbaugh’s show, and this Hawaii station has become the first station to drop it. Please help us thank all of these sponsors for their support!

http://www.care2.com/news/member/261547992/3128087

Thanks, Vivien. I'm not surprised to find one of my former employers on the list, as well as one of the other absurd holdouts, Life Lock, which I'm surprised is even still operating after they were sued for operating fraudulently because it was determined that they really weren't helping protect people from identity theft at all; most of what they do, people can do on their own for free anyway.

Here's another petition asking Romney and Santorum to condemn Limbaugh's statements:

"In just a matter of days, Limbaugh succumbed to the firestorm of public backlash and loss of sponsors. He issued an apology to Sandra, albeit an empty one.

But do you know who still hasn’t condemned Limbaugh for his wildly offensive statements? The leading Republican presidential hopefuls.

Today, as voters in 11 states head to the polls on Super Tuesday, tell Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum that they failed women.

Mitt Romney wouldn’t call for Limbaugh to apologize and cowardly said, “it’s not the language I would have used.” And Rick Santorum brushed off the issue by saying, “an entertainer can be absurd.”1

It’s alarming that those politicians who are currently running for the highest office in the nation failed to address Rush Limbaugh’s vulgar comments head on.

Birth control isn’t a partisan issue. Ninety-nine percent of women use birth control at some point in their lives. That means women – regardless of whether they call themselves Democrats, Republicans, or Independents – consider contraception basic health care.

Why should women trust Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum if they refuse to denounce misogyny when they hear it?

Tell Romney and Santorum – the leading anti-choice candidates – that they don’t stand for women. Make sure they know that when they refuse to denounce Limbaugh for his offensive language, they fail Sandra and all women.

We’re not going to let these outrageous attacks on women’s birth control go unanswered.

In solidarity,

Nancy Keenan
President, NARAL Pro-Choice America

1 - "Romney Fails the Leadership Test," The Root, March 5, 2012"

I think the strongest action Romney could take is to have Limbaugh fired himself since his firm, Bain Capital, is one of the owners of Clear Channel.

I must say that a big part of me prefers that these Republican candidates DO NOT condemn the pathetic Limbaugh. If they don't do this, it will surely hurt the Greedy Obstructionists much more so than if they apologize, and are "forgiven" for not doing so earlier.

To me, part of this is like a chess game, and we want to make our moves wisely. The more blunders the Party of Hate make, and the longer these remarks and actions are un-apologized for, the better for Obama as this is fuel that can be wisely used against these "worst of the crap" Party of NO, candidates. They are hanging themselves and they don't even have a clue.

Besides, at this point in the "game", it's not our responsibility, or desire, to get them to straighten up their act so they look better come November. I say the more they act like hateful, greedy, selfish, uncaring, totally stupid, idiots, the better!

I’ve been musing over the part of Rush’s non-apology remark about ‘stooping to the other guys level’ and am stumped by that, as I don’t recall any instances where anyone on the liberal/progressive side made such a crude comments about an individual in a tirade that lasted as many days has Rush’s comments on have.

Further proof of what an idiot he is – he’s helped with the layoff of the Chevy Volt people, and is now claiming that solar & wind industries don’t exist.

Not only is he rude and crude (which is being nice) but he’s dinosaur.

My father and I were actually having a discussion about it earlier, but why is it that people from the right keep accusing those of us on the left of nasty name-calling when it's just about always in response to something they said or did first?

As far as Limbaugh, I find it harder and harder to regret or apologize for saying anything mean about him when I consider stuff like this, which I posted earlier, but it needs to be reiterated; Limbaugh is an incredibly despicable person and deserves the worst that karma can bring him.

Thank you Kathy for the post and link. What a complete Idiot Limbaugh is. The only thing that makes sense, energy wise, and he thinks it doesn't exist and wants to poo poo it. Totally unbelievable!

We are so incredibly fortunate to have Obama, someone who truly knows the value of alternative energy, wants America to be leading the times, not holding them back, and who has put more money towards alternative energy than anyone ever did before him.

We will truly go backwards in a major way if per chance one of these Greedy Obstructionists who are running for the Presidency ever gets elected/appointed, as all of them are just as stupid in their thinking as Limbaugh is.

Our work is not done yet:

"Thanks to pressure from hundreds of thousands of online activists like you, more than 40 companies and other organizations have pulled their advertising from Rush Limbaugh's radio program. However, about a dozen of those companies have only suspended their ads rather than dropping them permanently.

Please, sign the petition telling those companies to permanently stop advertising on Rush Limbaugh's radio program.

These petitions are having a big impact. The one we sent to Limbaugh advertisers last week was signed by more than 100,000 members of the Daily Kos community. It was written up in the New York Times, Politico, Business Insider and New York Magazine. The buzz surrounding it was a big reason why so many companies and organizations have pulled their ads.

Make Rush Limbaugh, and the Republicans who stand with him, pay for their disgusting attacks on anyone who stands up for basic health care for women. Please, sign the petition telling companies and organizations that have suspended advertising on Rush Limbaugh to drop him permanently.

This is not the "I Have A Dream" results we were expecting. And the "Yes WE Can, doesn't cut the mustard change that we had to live with and adjust to. We the People are tired of being lied too cause of corporate greed.

Well, Frank, did Obama cause the turmoil in the Middle East that has caused supply to fall into question among speculators? Did he cause China and India to keep growing to the point where they have cause global demand to increase?

What are the specific acts that so convince you that he's in corporate pockets, which corporations would those be, and can you show proof of their benefits from his actions?

Now, tell me, because I'd really love to know, which Republican candidates are NOT in corporate pockets. For that matter, if you think Obama has helped corporate interests, do you think he could even come close to the charity that the Republicans would give to the oil, finance, and other such vulture industries?

Finally, please indulge my curiosity, but what does your comment have to do with the topic of this thread, Rush Limbaugh and his comments against Sandra Fluke? Or did you simply join this group and post wherever just to be disruptive?

Thank you Seth, for your response to Frank. I too was wondering what his post had to do with the topic of this thread. And, I too felt his post was very inaccurate, especially if he was in any way trying to say that the Greedy Obstructionists would have been any better.

In fact, if anyone else, other than Ron Paul, (who has his own massive baggage and very negative aspects), was in office, we would truly be a hell of a lot worse off.

For one, McCain, Palin, Cain, Perry, Bachmann, Romney, Santorum, Trump, or any of the other clowns from the Party of NO, PARTY OF HATE, as demonstrated by the GOP’s mouthpiece Limbaugh, would have had us in a massive, massive war in Iran, with possibly Saudi Arabia, China and Russia being drawn in to it. What would that be doing to our gas prices??? Needless to say, they would be a hell of a lot higher than the $3.50 - $4.50 price we see today.

And, in fact, while I’m not excited about higher gas prices, I actually don’t mind them if it’s due to Obama’s resistance to off-shore drilling and opposition to the Keystone XL pipeline, and other massively destructively practices the GOP is trying to force through. In fact, higher gas prices just may get people to realize that we do need to promote alternative energy, something Romney calls a joke, rather than subsidizing his filthy rich cronies in the Oil Business.

And, in that regard, Obama has pumped much, much, more money into alternative energy than anyone else ever has. He’s leading the way in this regard, in spite of the massive opposition from Big Oil and the PARTY OF NO!

So, while Obama isn’t perfect, I wish people would open their eyes to all the good he has done, and get off the kick of blaming him for the residue of Bush’s nightmarish catastrophe.

Obama has at least had the common people’s best interest at heart, rather than wanting to pump more and more millions/billions into the bank accounts of the super rich. Thank goodness we’ve had Obama, instead of McCain, and that it looks so promising that Obama will get re-elected.

Then in 2016 we can elect Rocky Anderson. J

Seth I was following your lead because you brought up Obama and how fortunate we are to have him.

I think.. with all due respect that all you Obama worshippers should open your eyes and just see how Americans are still losing their homes how the economy is still in the worst condition its ever been in. Do you drive... do you own a home. do you pay a mortgage?. Can you tell me that its gotten easier to pay for all of these.

The working American taxpayer[ for those of us fortunate to have a job] and every American is hurting right now. I don't know what country you live in and how you cannot see all this needless suffering.

What I have seen since Obama has been President was 3 years of campaigning for his next term.

It's been far from three years of campaigning, and he's actually accomplished much, in spite of all the Republican obstruction. I recommend checking my Truth Team posts in this group, and you can see some documentation of this.

Do you honestly believe that he's the one who allowed the finance industry to gamble and make such bad choices to the point where it collapsed?

Is he the one who started the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan?

Did he fail to set the bar high enough for the auto industry to encourage them to innovate so that they wouldn't fall behind foreign competitors?

All of these situations were set into motion long before he was ever in office, and he's had to do major damage control as a result, and yet, he's still been able to make some progress in spite of these obstacles, and in spite of little to no cooperation from the Republicans in Congress.

If you think he's done so little, then tell me, who can do better, and how?

I'm curious if you have anything to offer on this or if you're here just to be a troll, especially since you still haven't said anything about the actual topic of this thread.

Many of us are here to intelligently discuss important issues and to hopefully make positive contributions.

By making such off-topic comments without offering any valuable input, there's no reason to see you as anything other than an obstacle or a troll.

The burden is now yours to prove me wrong.

Just google "Obama's accomplishments" if you're sincere, Frank, about wanting to know the truth of what he's accomplished. I was quite amazed as there were many things on these numerous lists that I had no idea he had accomplished as the news never brocasted them, and certainly didn't give him credit.

And, if he was a dictator, maybe he could have made much more progress, but that's not how America works. He has done a tremendous amount that most people have no clue of.

You keep on evading the question.......

do you drive

do you own a home

do you pay a mortgage

do you food shop

do you have a family with children

do you retail shop for your family

do you buy heating fuel for your home

do you pay the electric bill and all other utilities. When you pay for all of the above, then come to me and tell me how you feel

all the intellegence in Washington and from your Obama hero has not come to rescue of any American trying to keep his or her head above water.

No, Frank. YOU are the one evading questions.

Forgive me for being a bit pissed off at this point, but I shouldn't be challenged to answer more personal questions about my life just to gratify you.

I asked you questions on topic for this thread and regarding your views on Obama, and you have failed to answer those, and yet you expect me to tell you about my life?

What's next? Asking for my credit card numbers? Social Security number? Passwords?

You have some set of balls to ask me those questions, and the fact that you did, along with the fact that you avoided MY questions confirms my suspicion that you're a troll.

At this point, I know you are only bashing Obama out of some vendetta and ignorance of facts because if you had anything valuable to contribute, you would have done so.

I'll ask you again to answer my questions, and don't you dare ask me questions about the personal details of my life.

Many of us have been hit hard by the economic crisis, but we shouldn't all have to share every detail of the specific impacts to each of us, and those of us with brains instead of vendettas know that Obama didn't cause it, and he's made a hell of a lot of effort to fix it.

Now what do you have to offer?

This is going nowhere Seth thanks for the post I enjoyed the conversation and good luck with obama you'll need it.

I’ve been hoping someone would come up with a petition against the memorial to Limpballs in Missouri, and here we have it.

http://act.credoaction.com/campaign/limbaugh_bust/?rc=LA_RushBust_03082012_e1

It's only going where you've steered it, Frank.

Don't worry. I think we'll do just fine with Obama.

Good luck with Ron Paul. I could tell all along that he's probably your boy just from your comments, and I don't think his talking point sheets allow you to actually conduct a debate with informed people, hence your failure to present anything credible in response to my questions to you about what Obama has failed to do.

Now, with your departure, the rest of us can return to some more intelligent discussions.

Thanks, Kathy!

I thought it was funny a couple nights ago when I heard someone from Missouri comment that Limbaugh is famous, and he's from Missouri, so why not allow him into the Hall of Fame?

I would have liked to be there so I could ask, why not Jesse James? He was famous and from Missouri, too. Should it matter that he was a robber and murderer?

Thank you Kathy for the post. I can't believe anyone would ever honor such a horrific disgrace of a NON-human being. There is absolutely no humanity or compassion, or heart about this man what-so-ever.

Anyway, I did sign the petition and left the following comment:

"It is sick and insane to honor someone who is such a disgrace to the human race. He's very rude and hateful towars others, and this last week calling Sandra Fluke a %#&!*% and a prostitute was totally over the top and completely unacceptable! One would have to be corrupt and paid to the hilt to honor such a dispicable person."

PS. What is wrong with this country??? A little while ago I learned Limbaugh has about 15 million listeners, and it's actually gone up this past week. That's a tremendous amount of people that support someone who is such an incredible low-life. It just blows me away thinking about it.

Also, he recently stated that if he lost 28 sponsors it would be like having 2 French fries drop out of his French fry bag, implying he could care less. And, of course, he's currently lost over 45 sponsors, but still is on about 600 radio stations.

It's an incredibly sad state of affairs when such hatred and negativity is what sells in this country of ours. And, that's why politicians can't resist but to go so negative.

I heard a couple of weeks ago that Romney only had .01% of 1% of his advertising as positive in one of his campaigns to destroy Newtie. And, these negative, hateful, people are the best the Greedy Obstructionists can offer! How pathetic!!!

Thank you Kathy and gladly signed.

Here is a Media Matters article about the dire straights that Limbaugh is in. From the article:

According to our coverage:

A total of 86 ads aired during WABC's broadcast of The Rush Limbaugh Show today.
77 of those ads were public service announcements donated free of charge by the Ad Council.
Of the nine paid spots that ran, seven were from companies that have said they have taken steps to ensure their ads no longer air during the program.
WABC's online feed included about 5:33 of dead air when ads would normally have run.

NPR just talked about how Romney won't stand up to Limbaugh and denounce Limbaugh's hatred towards women because he's so afraid of the far, far, right that Limbaugh has power over. This fear, however, is costing Romney dearly as he has only minimal support from women already, and it's dropping continuously.

It's all a game to many of these politicians, whereas they are so afraid of being real, saying what they truly feel, and instead they sell their souls to the people in power, and become whatever it is they think will get them elected

It was also pointed out how ridiculous it is for the candidates of the Greedy Obstructionist Party to be so afraid of Limbaugh, and yet they're all in favor of dropping as many bombs as they can on Iran and other countries they disagree with.

What horrific arrogance, heartlessness, greed and stupidity these GOP candidates have. The PARTY OF HATE is shooting themselves in the foot continuously, and they can't even see it as they're blinded by their massive disease of GREED, and their deep desire to worship and bend over backwards to appease the HATEFUL Tea Baggers.

Dire Straits? Rush? Sounds like the DJ on a classic rock station.

I think it would be funny if all the Ad Council ads were about tolerance, staying fit, and the importance of education.

Female Journalist Tracie McMillan Responds to Limbaugh Attack
Thubten - 1 day ago - thinkprogress.org

Limbaugh mused, "What is it with all of these young, single, white women, overeducated -- doesn't mean intelligent."

UPDATE 7th March 2012:
Over Forty-five sponsors have now ceased advertising on Limbaugh’s show.  Please take a moment to thank them for supporting women.
With just one click you can send your appreciation to all of the sponsors.

And, still he has about 15,000,000 people that listen to his hateful rants! What is wrong with all of these people, some of which are women???

Anyway, I hope all of this changes the more he keeps opening his mouth and letting his vile hatred spew out in such a blatant, obvious, obnoxious, crude, manner.

And, I’m glad the top Greedy Obstructionist Party candidates have NOT distanced themselves from this, or denounced it. This just shows that they are of the same ilk, and hopefully this will help keep any of these repulsive “beings” from getting elected!

It's great that the pressure is on him, and that over 45 sponsors thus far have quit using their advertisement dollars to support his filth!

Fifteen million! that's such a worry!
I'm sad to say we have a shock jock like him in Australia...a cretin who started a violent race riot on a Sydney beach through his hateful suggestions.

I recently read an article on the 15 million figure, which said the estimate was based on what are known as "cumes", that is, "cumulative audience", which a much broader segment of potential listeners, including those that tune in, either accidently or deliberately, for a minute or two.  The number is largely a guess, and most experts estimate actual audience from the cumes by dividing the cume figure by ten.  So, it is most likely to be closer to 1.5 million, which is still a lot, but no more than tunes into Fox or MSNBC on any given night.

And thanks Thubten for the link to thank the sponsors who withdrew.  Signed it!

I was rather surprised to see that the Girls Scouts were one of his sponsors...

Thanks William - 1.5 million definitely is much better than 15 million, but as you say, still a lot, and hard for me to wrap my brain around. I guess it's somewhat like some of the hateful rap - screw this and f__k that and kill all those ... I don't listen to that either as I so much prefer a more peaceful, compassionate, happy life.

Bravo Thubten for the wonder article on the Journalist. And they wonder why their is bullying in school when kids listen to Rush Limbaugh. He's a King of all Trouble makers and Bullers. Thubten, they need to petition the one you have in Australia and get rid of Rush's Offspring Follower. People like this are brain washed, therefore brainwashing others as well. FCC needs to do their job and crack down on these kind of people and bring back clean air waves as it was meant to be. Gladly Signed my wonderful friend. Your the best....!

Seth, Eddie. Kathy and Thubten (Jenny), you are true leaders of this thread and bravo to all that you do and accomplish with words of truth that make a world of difference. I can't say thank you enough and glad to be part of this thread. Y'all are the Golden Stars of Care2 in my book as well as a few others that make a huge difference for the good of the people of the world.

Thanks again to everyone for their participation. It's the efforts of many that can help inform each other and change things for the better.

Regarding the 15 million, I wouldn't even be surprised if this included cases where, for example, someone is playing Rush loudly on the radio in a store or in their car, and they're counting people within earshot who hear the bluster only because it's forced upon them.

To make such a consideration would only further prove that Limbaugh's assault on women, and on society in general, is only NOT a rape because of lack of physcial contact. He certainly has the bullying, aggressive mentality to impose himself upon others, even against their will.

Joh H - Thank you so very much for your kind words of appreciation, as well as all your words and efforts to be part of the team of caring, compassionate, people of the world who are truly doing our best to make whatever positive change we can.

You are a big part of this, and I deeply appreciate and value you, and the wonderful comments you posts.

And, thank you Kathy for this recent post. It's getting better and better all the time, and we've got to be delivering a major message to Limbaugh - in his bank account, the only thing that matters to him.

And, not only to him, but anyone else who is, or desires to become so hateful, hopefully is taking notice and may restrain from doing so seeing how power the voice of the people can be, and how much impact we can make.

Appreciation to all, and deep wishes for: love, peace, health & happiness to everyone.

As I sit here thinking of something to say, I saw a news story on the local news about the Crystal Cathedral in Orange County (big evangelical megachurch).  It's going bankrupt, and they are moving out of the Crystal Cathedral.  Another sign that the times are changing?

They should be careful not to let the door hit them in the asses on the way out.

Maybe they could have invested in some advertising with Rush if they wanted to rebuild their congregation. Those are definitely nuts of a feather.

William, that goes to show how hard the recession actually is when people can't give 10% of their earnings to the church as they should. And to, their are pro's and con's of the church pulpit through greed of easy money and don't have to pay taxes. God loves a cheerful giver, but when the cheerful giver quits giving, it is then you will see the down fall of the pro's and con's. You have to many churches that say we need this, we need that and when their in a bind of over spending, what do they do. A full sermon on thithing for your sunday service with all the drama that goes with it. We have a church here where the pastor and his wife get NEW Cadilliac's every year and no one leaves till the thiting plates are full. Their's more to this con as I could go on and on. Pro's and con's of corporiate greed always cause a war to out do the highest bidder.

For those who didn't watch SNL, they did a nice slap at Limbaugh for the opening of the show the other night:

Thank you Seth, I don't get those channels here and I don't have cable either to keep up with things.

A part of me suspects that the churches are still getting their 10%, or more from most of their sheeple, and that it's just mismanagement and corruption that is bringing down the Crystal Cathedral. After all, these churches are extremely skillful at using fear and guilt to squeeze that money from the gullible people.

Bravo Eddie. Makes you wonder if some of the pro's and con's who have more than they need aren't using shrink head techniques to brainwash people into beliving that the more you give , the more you are blessed. That's almost like buying your way to heaven. For pro's and con's to lure people is of a false prophet. If I had a way to share a CD I have of the true meaning of the piermid on the one dollar bill I would and everyone would be shocked. Tech wise I do not know how to do that. It's mystry was uncovered one the one dollar bill how it became.

In the old days we had priest and preachers who taught the word of the good book. Today, we have pro's and con's.

Antway, to change the subject. Ant GOOD NEWS on Fluch Rush that John Wayne Toilet Paper would be glad to wipe the smile from Rush's face.

The petitions aren't done:

"Thanks to your outrage and that of millions of women and men, advertisers have delivered a strong message to the syndicator of the Rush Limbaugh Show, Premier Radio Network. Premier announced yesterday it will suspend national advertising on the Rush Limbaugh Show for two weeks on local stations. Now it's time for radio stations, especially large ones, to say enough is enough and drop Rush.

Premiere is also circulating a list of 98 national advertisers to radio stations asking that commercials for these companies be scheduled "in dayparts or programs free of content that you know are deemed to be offensive or controversial (for example, Mark Levin, Rush Limbaugh, Tom Leykis, Michael Savage, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity)."

Now that advertisers have said enough is enough, it's time for radio stations to say the same and drop the Rush Limbaugh show. Let the large local stations in New York City, Washington DC, Los Angeles, Chicago, and the Armed Forces Radio Network know you believe it's time to drop Rush and his extreme disrespect of women. Sexism is not OK.

We will stop the War on Women!"
