Hello from Finland to all elephant lovers :) July 24, 2009 10:12 PM
Hello
I joined this lovely group too but haven´t posted anything or been active in care2 at all:~
My name is Irene, Im 33 and crazy elephant lover ! Fortunately we don´t have any elephant in Finland anymore -Im totally against zoo, cages and circus which are creations by evil/ignorant human trying to "control" the nature and thinking he has the right to do so ! They can always find justifications for whichever unnatural actions:~ I hope there is better future !
I want to see all elephants happy, living in their natural habitats and countries where they belong to I hope to see them some day in real
I make collection of elephant postcards, stamps and also like seeing them in every item around the house
Hello to all who may read - (Jessica are you out there?)
At first was just looking at how to find the Jessica that knows the woman in Cuba who has an Elephant Collection If someone knows a better way than this to reach her - let me know - Thanks ! - Now I am fascinated that there are others out there that love elephants. Not a pro at "sites...searches etc. and recently joined Facebook so if using this post incorrectly - apologies -
Thank you for the invite June July 17, 2008 11:07 AM
I love elephant's because they are so beautiful and a caring animal for their young . My grandson age 3 , loves them also, and I would like them to be around for a long time so he and his children can enjoy them in their natural habitat . They are really a gentle giant .
I have loved elephants since I was a child and saw my first one. I was so fascinated looking into it's beautiful eyes and seeing the wisdom of the ages there. It was a feeling I have never forgotten. The love and family loyalty they have is something we humans would do well to emulate.
I am fairly new though i havent had much time to look at this group.
Iam the Founder of the Kucinski Wildlife Foundation and at the moment I am working to set up a NGO. I would also very much like for different group to come together so we can help each other and network so I came up with the idea of a Guest Speaker for my group. I was wondering if you would like to network your group in my group as a guest speaker? The link will explain more about it. If you would like more info please email me at dkucinski@whale-mail.com
I look forward to hearing from you and hopefully working with you.
I didn't know a new season of Elephant Diaries was going to start soon! I can't wait either and do you know around about when it will come on? I also love the babies laying down under their blankets! It's the cutest to see them look over with their sweet little eyes like they are so happy to be there! Makes your heart melt! I also love watching them play soccer! I think Elephant Diaries is one of the best shows any elephant lover could ever hope for!
Yes you can find Rob's profile on this discussion board about middle ways up. He is the creater of Elephant Magazine in the Netherlands which I highly recommend checking it out! Very interesting and the best information on elephants!
Is Rob on Care2? I'll try to get in touch with him, thanks. The bit i loved in elepahant diaries is when they were sleeping at night on the pillows with their little blankets. It was so cute i nearly cried! There is another series coming next year! can't wait to see the little eles again.

Welcome to the group! I too fell in love with Elephant Diaries! It's so cute to watch the babies sucking on a bottle! Also funny to watch them try to take more when they have already had their bottle! That is so neat you will be visiting Sri Lanka! I'd love to hear about it when you get back!
There are a couple of people that have experienced elephants first hand and the one I know the most is Rob Faber! He can tell you a lot about visiting and being with elephants!
Hi! My name is Meabh. I fell in love with elephants after watching the 'Elephant Diaries' series on TV a while back...so much so that I'm going to Sri Lanka for a month in August to work at the Pinawala elephant orphanage.anyone had any experience of elephants first hand? I'm excited and nervous! I'm so pleased to see this group.x

Still learning a lot about the elephant world here too and always love watching those webcams! If you haven't seen Echo of the Elephants on DVD or VHS yet it's worth checking out! Really tells you a lot on how elephants react and the true meaning of a family to them! Here is a link to what the story is about! And thankfully the elephants are in the wild and not sitting in a zoo or circus!
Jessica, I am pretty new to the elephant world. I have always loved them as all animals, but I have a passion for trying to save them after learning more about them. I do now have a little stuffed ele from adopting an elephant from the Defenders of Wildlife here on care2.
Do you ever go to www.elephants.com and turn on ele cam? A couple days ago, I saw the most beautiful ele so close up so amazing!!
I have the privilege to have some friends among the orphaned elephants in Kenya. As managing editor of the Elephant magazine and chairman of Friends of the Elephant in the Netherlands I will do my best to protect the elephants in every way I can.
