Any Special Movie, or Video, or Photo? August 10, 2005 2:01 PM

I think rgar everyone of us has a favorite movie, or a video, or a photo which has a special significance because we shared it with our deceased loved ones...  Any particular story to tell?  Let's share, please!

Hugs,

LOL, any Jim Carey movie.  Rudy loved them all and imitated Jim Carey 24/7.  I would have to beg him to stop because my stomach hurt from laughing so much.  I even think of Rudy when a new Jim Carey movie comes out because I know he would have loved it.  Lets see what other movies...oh the Neverending Story.  PeeWee Herman, (I know, I know, but this was when he was young)  and godzilla movies.

Thanks for the smile!

TOTO' September 04, 2005 2:43 PM

Toto' was a very famous comedian from Naples.  He died in 1967 but the memory of him is still very much alive!  His old movies are shown on several TV channels every day (all different movies, of course).  I still enjoy them!  He was never vulgar and never used the dialect, except for a few expressions, here and there...  His facial expressions were unique!  Just looking at him would make you laugh!

Well, it took Tony some time to appreciate him because of the language barrier...  However, when his Italian improved, he  would NEVER miss his movies!  He liked one in particular... Toto' and his cousin are in Milan, asking a cop for direction, and the cop responds in Milanese...  So Toto' thinks he's a foreigner and, in order to communicate, he puts different languages together.  The scene is SO funny!  In the end, nobody understands anything and Toto' decides to buy a city map!  Once I bought Tony a T-shirt with that "conversation" printed on it!  He took it as a beautiful surprise and used it for the gym all the time!

Thanks, Toto', for those happy moments!

GHOST September 05, 2005 3:30 PM

Tony and I also had a video we used to watch over and over again (in the original version): "Ghost"!  Such a beautiful story!  Without Tony, though, I don't think I'll ever watch it again... Giuliana aka PLR  [ send green star]

Like all kids, Laurel's favorite movies changed as she got older.  First, it was Winnie-the-Pooh that we watched forever.  Then, the Muppet Movie took over.  (I still love the movie, but have difficulty listening to the song Rainbow Connection.)  In her last few years, it was the original 101 Dalmatians - her room was decorated in that theme and I wore a 101 Dalmatians tie for her funeral.  Little Mermaid brings back special memories, since we saw the preview showing as a family.  Can I watch them now?  Yes, and tears flow as I remember how special they all were to her.  But, I am thankful that we had those shared times.
